Chapter 158 - Trojan

Name:Help...My Wife is a Spy Author:Yunyi
Father Feng spent the entire evening filing a police report at the hospital. Since the police were already there to speak to Mother Wu, he took the opportunity to report his daughter's kidnapping and what he had heard on the phone to them while they were there. The simple kidnapping had took a sudden turn and he was no longer sure if his daughter was dead or alive.

Finally, Father Feng reported everything he knew, and in his distraught state, he was allowed to go home with Natalie and Pumpkin.

"My poor daughter," he cried as he turned towards the door.

"Don't worry, Henry. You may have misheard or the gun could have shot anywhere. The police will find her for you. She's going to be fine," Mother Wu comforted, even though she knew the kidnappers were instructed to kill Halia with one shot.

Father Feng nodded his head and wiped his tears as he walked out of the hospital room with Natalie and Pumpkin.

Meanwhile, Father Wu sighed as he watched his friend leave. It was difficult to see a middle-aged man cry like that. Hopefully, his friend's daughter was fine. If something like this happened to one of his children, he wouldn't know how he'd handle it.

But...as soon as Father Feng boarded his car and there was no one else around, his crying stopped and he stared straight ahead calmly. This man could win a best actor award for his performance.

"Where is she now?" he asked.

Natalie glanced at her boss through the rearview mirror and replied, "I'll take you to see her right away."

Roughly 10 minutes before Father Feng received a phone call from the 'kidnappers' earlier, Natalie had actually received a phone call from Sean.

"Halia's safe and she's with me. I will be calling Father Feng in a minute posing as one of the kidnappers. I want him to help me fake Halia's death. I will explain everything later. Make sure he puts the call on loudspeaker so everyone in the hospital room can hear," he instructed.

Natalie immediately agreed without questioning her fiance, especially when she heard that her best friend was safe.

So, as soon as she returned to the room, she whispered the plan into Father Feng's ear and the man kept a straight face as he agreed. As long as his daughter was safe, he was willing to do anything.

In the end, everything ran as planned and Father Feng followed Natalie to find his daughter.

Soon, Natalie, Pumpkin and Father Feng pulled up outside the casino. There was nothing suspicious about this since Father Feng was staying in the casino's hotel. But, instead of returning to his room or even Halia's room, Natalie led Father Feng to one of the VIP suites.

As soon as she knocked on the door, Sean quickly opened it up and ushered the three inside. Even though the suite was quite big it was fairly crowded. After Father Feng, Natalie and Pumpkin entered, there was a total of 8 people inside.

Father Feng scanned his eyes across the people in the room and finally lay his eyes upon his precious daughter. Tears immediately started streaming from his eyes; sincere tears, unlike the ones he had at the hospital earlier.

"Oh Haili, you're OK!" he cheered emotionally as he ran up and hugged the young woman.

Halia hugged her father back and gently comforted him, "Everything's alright..."

...

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Father Wu and Emerson had just gone home, and for the first time that day, Mother Wu was finally left on her own.

With a smirk, she picked up her phone to call the officer she had been working with. This wasn't the first time she had worked with this man. Over the years, he had assisted her on multiple occasions, so even though his reputation had gone downhill recently, she still had faith in him. After all, the fewer people involved with her schemes the better. Everyone knew her as the kindhearted wife of casino tycoon, Jack Wu, and she wanted it to stay that way.

So, she called the corrupt officer as usual for a follow-up. After every deal they made, he always cleaned up nicely.

But, this time, when she called, the officer did not pick up as quickly as he normally did. In fact, it took her a good few hours before she finally got through to him.

"Why weren't you answering my calls, Trojan? Did you clean up nicely? Did you find the body?" Mother Wu asked anxiously.

Just like a Trojan horse, this man was named Trojan because he was not the man that everyone thought he was. Sure, he wore a police uniform on the outside, but underneath it all, he was a cruel and ruthless person that would do anything for money.

"There's been a small complication," the man replied in an obviously stressed tone.

"What do you mean by a small complication?" Mother Wu roared.

"Calm down first and listen to me," Trojan said. "Before I managed to send my men, Interpol somehow got involved and raided the scene first."

"How did Interpol get involved?" Mother Wu asked.

"I'm not sure. Supposedly, the kidnappers had committed some crimes overseas. They've been detained for questioning and it's outside my jurisdiction," Trojan explained.

"Will they expose us?" Mother Wu asked worriedly.

"Don't worry, they don't know who we are," Trojan reassured.

Mother Wu breathed a sigh of relief.

"What about Haili? Is that little sl*t dead?" she asked.

"Even though I never saw the body myself, Interpol have confirmed her death. They should have contacted her family by now, " the man said proudly. "I would say that this was a success."

Mother Wu calmed down and smiled. As long as Halia was dead, then she didn't care about anything else.

But, of course, she had no idea that Jackson was the head of Interpol in that region and the news that Trojan received was all fake. Halia was very much alive and she knew Mother Wu was the one that wanted to kill her...
