Chapter 502 The True Uma-Sarru Pt. 8

Chapter 502 The True Uma-Sarru Pt. 8

Abaddon used to be really big on energy drinks when he was still living on earth.

He worked like a madman just to keep himself afloat, and instead of sleeping properly like most would have expected him to do, he subsisted on energy drinks so that he could make time to read the light novels he liked and catchup on weekly music releases.

Since he turned 18, he must have only gotten an average of 3-4 hours of sleep

a night.

It was an utter miracle that he never dropped dead before he reached twenty.

Heart failure certainly should have taken him out before a mythical overlord did.

But instead, he continued his days subsisting on the turbulent rush that came whenever he ingested caffeine.

Eating a star was somewhat like that, only times 1,000.

It provided such an unreal burst of energy that he nearly jumped out of his scales.

And then... his body just exploded.

An outpour of violet cosmic energy filled up the region of space and obscured most of the current abyss king's vision.

Finally, he developed an odd sense of foreboding as he stared into the oddly colored region of space and he felt his agitation increasing.

"Is this what you call a final gamble? The fledgling ruler has eaten his first star and now-"

"Mobi geou qe thric throdenilt ukrisir." (There will be no more talking.)

From out of nowhere, the violet energy started to shape itself and solidify.

Typically, the word 'monster' is used to describe a creature of hideous appearance and stature with an outwardly hostile demeanor.

But now looking at the creature that Abaddon had become, one would immediately come to the conclusion that a better name need be given.

With Abaddon's normal body being able to strip the sanity of the beings who looked at him, this one looked like it was designed to imbue others with inescapable nihilism.

To look at him was to gain a clear understanding that nothing mattered.

There was no hope, no light at the end of the tunnel.

There was only him waiting to bring about the cold, dark end.

And he would do so with the utmost ease and savagery.

Such is his purpose.

His design.

His scales seemed to have all fused together, now becoming something akin to an armored exoskeleton; similar to a crustacean.

He floated on all fours, but only the back legs resembled animals' feet, while the front were closer to the bladed limbs of a praying mantis.

It's head was a monstrous thing, yet it was well protected. And though he didn't have seven of them, he did have seven tails. The source of this content nov(el)bi((n))

Dark spines and jutting plates of it's exoskeleton came out of it's jaw, skull, back, and shoulders.

Underneath the creature's plate armor, currents of a mysterious red energy pulsed along it's body; coinciding with the thumping of a heartbeat.

In all of Jaldabaoth's eons of life, he had never once seen a creature like this.

"What foul manner of beast have you turned yourself-"

"GUOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"

After only releasing a roar in response, Abaddon started his assault.

And Yaldabaoth was caught so unawares that he could barely process what happened.

All that he knew was that at one point he felt something slam into him face first, causing him to jerk his head back.

"Gahh!! What is th-"

Not a second afterward, Abaddon appeared right in front of him and bashed his snout inward with a destructive headbutt that could have destroyed ten more worlds.

The spell he'd casted earlier was one with particularly nefarious purposes.

Every attack that Abaddon dealt to Jaldabaoth would be mirrored right back.

Though conversely, this ability didn't activate when Jaldabaoth was the one to injure Abaddon.

Now, the two of them were locked in a dire stalemate designed to only favor Jaldabaoth.

This would be a test of endurance.

Ultimately, the first one to drop in this battle would be the one who was unable to withstand the pain of punishment.

"AAAAAAGHHHH!!"

Jaldabaoth felt horrible pain running down the center of his chest as an agonized screech escaped his mouth.

With the greatest of surgical technique, and sinister glee, Abaddon cut Jaldabaoth's chest open to reveal his hearts.

There were four of them to be exact, each one spaced out an equal distance away from each other.

At the same time, Abaddon's chest was being cut open and pulled apart by an invisible force to reveal his sole phoenix heart.

And his enemy couldn't believe it.

"You fool! Have you not yet realized what you are doing?" Jaldabaoth laughed.

It was then that he saw the monster above him smile with fangs that were longer than entire skyscrapers.

He finally realized that Abaddon was not currently sane.

In fact, it almost certainly seemed like he was enjoying the pain that the two of them were sharing together.

It didn't matter how much pain that he himself was in, as long as he got to inflict harm on Jaldabaoth too then it would all be worth it.

Abaddon stabbed Jaldabaoth twice more in two of his remaining hearts; their conjoined agony like harmony to him.

His own heart wasn't entirely damaged beyond repair yet, but there were huge gashes in it.

As one would have expected, Jaldabaoth wasn't exactly contending very well with the destruction of his most important organs.

By now, he also was only clinging on to life.

He looked for an opening to exploit, but Abaddon had none.

His only move forward was a desperate one, and he hated leaving his life in the hands of crude things like the fates.

But alas, he had no more options.

And it seemed like this battle was about to come to an end.

Instead of using his bloodied forelimbs to stab Jaldabaoth in the heart, Abaddon's frenzied mind told him to open his mouth wide and savor the end properly.

He came so close to biting into the heart that his fangs grazed against it and drew blood.

But just before he clamped his teeth shut around it... he paused.

A memory resurfaced from the deepest recesses of his brain.

A woman sat in his lap and several more all around her, each of them crying their hearts out and begging him not to do... something?

But he couldn't remember exactly what...

He could see the girls' mouths moving, but that didn't help him figure out exactly what they were asking.

'Find... another...way.'

The moment he finally remembered, it was too late.

Jaldabaoth finally seized his moment and lunged at Abaddon's open chest.

Using his crushed snout, he opened his mouth as wide as he could and bit down on Abaddon's punctured heart.

With great satisfaction, he tore it from his chest and swallowed the entire thing whole.
