When their voices had finished, they would look forward to see a few toddlers still mumbling amongst themselves. Previously, these toddlers had only been attracted by Xi Jiu Er, who was sunbathing in the courtyard. Furthermore, Xi Jiu Er liked toddlers, so every time the little toddlers left, they would return with a bunch of melon seeds and fruits.

After a long time, the village's children and elders could all see that they did not have any ill intentions. The villagers were simple, and once a guest came from the village, they would give some of their family's rare foods to the guest as a welcome treat.

Therefore, every time the little kids dragged a small basket, most of the baskets were filled with fruits and vegetables that the farmers usually ate.

Xi Jiu Er would usually give them some gifts as well, and sometimes she would ask the guards to bring a piece of dessert as she carried the little kids from house to house.

Sometimes, they didn't even need to go out. As long as they called out from the courtyard, "Whose little kid is he?" Someone would immediately run out from the courtyard.

In the end, the adults who brought their babies home would shyly take the gifts Xi Jiu Er gave them and head back home step by step.

Xi Jiu Er liked to get along with this kind of person. She didn't need to plan or plot, and she didn't need to be observant and understand her opponent's intentions. She only needed to simply chat and she didn't need to talk about anything profound.

They just had to talk about who had planted some crops in the field, who had a child that lasted a hundred months, and who had a fruit tree that had died.

Such a simple content already made Xi Jiu Er's mood extremely happy and comfortable for the entire day.

The sun today was especially good. With the support of Aunt Li and Tao Yao, Xi Jiu Er descended from the bamboo pavilion and walked towards the bamboo pavilion that was placed under the peach tree.

Xi Jiu Er called out Mu Qiu Shui's name from the courtyard, not wanting to be informed by the guards, her master was invited by the village chief to be a guest at the house of a person who had just had a child.

Originally, he wanted to ask Xi Jiu Er to go with him, but's stomach was growing bigger and bigger. He rarely left his room, and didn't dare to move too often, so he could only rest on the bed like a pig.

Therefore, Mu Qiu Shui only asked the guard to pass the message on his behalf and told him not to worry about Xi Jiu Er when he returned.

Xi Jiu Er lied under the tree and basked in the sun. After hearing everything, she squinted her eyes and nodded, then continued to bathe under the warm sunlight.

Outside the courtyard, there were a few light footsteps running towards Xi Jiu Er's bamboo house. Xi Jiu Er had her eyes closed, the corners of her mouth raised high.

Before he could even see her, he heard a young and tender voice sound out from outside the courtyard. "Aunt Jiu Er, you came out to bask in the sunlight again today?"

The young and tender voice came closer and closer, before stopping on Xi Jiu Er's bed. Xi Jiu Er opened her eyes and saw that it was indeed the grandson of the neighboring aunt.

He had almost reached the age where he could change his teeth. He lost quite a few small teeth, but luckily, they weren't affecting him from talking or eating for the time being. However, the little kid estimated that it wouldn't be long before he would be thinking of how he could get the tooth fairy to heal his teeth.

Xi Jiu Er slightly turned her body, so that she could completely see the little guy.

"Mu Mu, where are your parents?" Xi Jiu Er reached out to stroke the little child's head, his tone extremely gentle.

The child stuck his finger in his mouth as he tilted his head to think about it. Then, he said in a childish voice, "Father, mother went to the imperial capital. Afterwards, you said you wanted to buy some delicious food for the trees."

Xi Jiu Er started to smile upon hearing this, and gently caressed the little child's white and tender face.

Thinking that it might be because their family needed something, the two of them went to the city to gather more ingredients, so they didn't continue asking. Instead, they got Tao Yao to bring them a plate of pastries.

Xi Jiu Er pinched a small piece and placed it in the little child's mouth. Looking at how he was eating so delicately, she couldn't help but wonder if his child would be as cute and obedient as him in the future.

The little kid finished off a piece of cinnamon cake, and a pile of pastries was left at the corner of his mouth. Xi Jiu Er then took the silk handkerchief from Tao Yao's hands and earnestly wiped the corner of his mouth.

He lightly pinched the child's chubby cheeks before holding a piece of lotus flower candy and placing it in his hand.

The little child sat on the small stool and obediently licked the candy in his hands, as if it was the most delicious food in the world. Seeing her cute and innocent appearance, Xi Jiu Er couldn't help but to cover his mouth and laugh.

Xi Jiu Er used a brocade handkerchief to wipe the sweet crumbs around the little child's mouth, and pushed his little hands to signal for him to continue eating the candy. The little child looked at her, and suddenly laughed foolishly, extending his tongue to lick the lotus candy in his hands, and said tenderly, "Mother said that Aunt is a good person, and the little brother in your stomach will be as adorable as the wood."

Xi Jiu Er nodded her head as she smiled. Actually, the reason Mu Mu had called her Aunt was because her neighbor's nephew wanted to sneak in and steal from her son's house when his son was not home. However, Xi Jiu Er happened to oversee her on the windowsill in her study, and then heard someone crying in the room.

Fortunately Mu Qiu Shui had rushed over in time, otherwise, Mu Mu Mu's mother would have become a ghost under the blade. After that, when her family head came to thank Xi Jiu Er, they realised that he was actually younger than Xi Jiu Er by an hour.

Xi Jiu Er caressed the little child's little face, planning to continue teasing him when he heard a familiar voice coming from outside. When Xi Jiu Er heard this, her finger that was in midair didn't drop for a long time.

"Jiu Er, I didn't expect that you would actually like children this much. When our children are born, you will definitely be happy as well."

Feng Qing Cheng leisurely walked into the courtyard. Seeing Xi Jiu Er teasing the little child, his heart could not help but become happier.

Xi Jiu Er shivered coldly, and turned her head to look at Feng Qing Cheng who had suddenly appeared in disbelief.

After a moment, he forced himself to calm down, and waved his hand to allow the guard to carry the little child back to his neighbor's house. Then, he stared coldly at Feng Qing Cheng, closed his eyes, and pretended to bask in the sunlight as if nothing had happened.

Feng Qing Cheng's originally joyful mood had been splashed with a bucket of cold water by Xi Jiu Er's cold and indifferent expression.

He took three steps to the side of the bed, anger slowly rising in his heart. "Follow me back to the palace."

Xi Jiu Er pretended not to hear and continued to sleep.

Feng Qing Cheng saw that she did not want to bother with him, so he did not bother with her.

"Your Majesty, Jiu Er will not return with you to the palace."
