[Flame of Sorrow - First Form: Azure Cross (Apostle Grade)

Using a large amount of mana, fill your weapon with the flame of sorrow energy and unleash its full power in two moves to overwhelm your enemy and send him into the depths of cold forever.

This is only the first of three forms. Become stronger to learn more of Apostle's Power].

'Hmm... Damn, this one is different from my other skills. I can develop it, right?' Zayne pondered, while information passed through his mind, 'Well, I can think about it later.'

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Blue flames covered Zayne's sword with a powerful stream spreading around him. The ground beside him was covered in a thin layer of ice as he exhaled cold steam as if in freezing winter.

"It's the energy of the Apostle... but I don't feel the power of Chaos in it at all..." Sacrificial Knight muttered in disbelief.

Zayne nodded slightly, "Yeah, that's right, and that power belongs to me now. Go ahead, even if you die, show me what you can do, do you really want to die regretting the mistakes of the past? You don't have much time left, so make the most of it!"

At the same moment, Zayne lunged forward, with a confident and measured stride, approaching his opponent.

The Sacrificial Knight stared at Zayne for a moment, then he closed his eyes and rushed ahead. Blood stopped flowing from his wounds as his spear gradually began to clear.

'Agh...? What's happening...? Zayne inwardly muttered in confusion without stopping.

Zayne came close to Sacrificial Knight as he swung his sword twice, forming a flaming cross. Sacrificial Knight glanced at Zayne with a slight smile and pointed his spear at him. Previously covered in darkness, the spear was now white, as though it was formed of the purest energy.

Crackle.

The spear in a heartbeat plunged into Zayne, piercing his heart. At the same moment, a cross of blue flame erupted on Sacrificial Knight's back, ready to explode.

"What...? How...? I didn't even notice anything..." Zayne whispered, preparing for waves of pain and agony, but to his surprise, none of this happened, and the world around him seemed to freeze. The particles of flame hardly moved at all, everything just stopped.

"Don't be surprised..." Sacrificial Knight muttered with a slight smile, "I just thought that for the last time, I might show you my skill... I don't know if you could use this power or what your path would be, but I sincerely hope that you could at least clear these ruins... of her presence..."

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Space trembled as the world returned to its former pace. The Azure Cross released all its energy outward, leaving a wide scar on Sacrificial Knight and turning it into an ice statue. The power of this attack was enough to defeat even such a strong opponent in one move.

"Agh... How strange..." Zayne touched his chest, but there was no spear or wound there, then he glanced at Sacrificial Knight, and sadness appeared in his gaze, "I haven't had time to discover much about you, but I'm glad you didn't have to suffer the pain of this cold... Your eyes went blank before the cross even activated..."

Zayne glanced at his flushed hands, a thin layer of ice on his fingertips.

'Damn... I only made one attack, but I almost turned into ice myself... I need to get stronger.' Zayne pondered when suddenly his eyes went wide. It was unclear whether or not he imagined it, but Zayne saw the Sacrificial Knight smile, then cracks appeared in the ice.

The ice statue shattered as with a torrent of wind, millions of tiny crystals whizzed past Zayne, at the same moment, a white flash appeared amid his eyes.

eαglesnᴏνel [You defeated the Terror Grade Creature - Sacrificial Knight!]

[You gained 600 Exp!]

[You gained the Title - Gaze of the World!]

[Gaze of the World

You've learned a little more about the complexities of this world. Go on if you want to comprehend the mysteries, but beware, sometimes the truth can be more terrifying than even the worst nightmare.

Your resistance against Fate or Chaos energy has been increased by 1%]

"Hmm...? Does this 1% even do any good...? Though that's obviously not the point of this Title." Zayne puzzled, uttered.

[Received energy from the Sacrificial Knight spreads through your body!]

[You have a new skill!]

[Sacrificial Path (Active)

Make your energy rage, increasing your strength and doing yourself considerable damage, provoking the opening of many wounds as well as bleeding.

You'll lose 33% of your maximum Heath, then for 30 seconds, your Health will decrease until you reach 33% of your current Health. Due to the increased strength of your body until the skill ends, bleeding will be stopped. While the skill is in effect, all your stats will be increased by 25%]

'Damn... How many numbers... how complicated, and yet it doesn't say when the skill will end, although apparently it's up to me.' Zayne pondered evaluating the new skill with a thoughtful expression.

'Given one of my Titles, they together can make me much stronger under certain circumstances... However, it's all too risky and unreliable somehow. I wasn't planning on becoming a Berserker at all, it's definitely not my style.' Zayne frowned and with a complicated expression took a deep breath.

Crackle.

Suddenly, the slab in the center of the room moved, rising slowly. Zayne turned around, and he got a puzzled look.

"Hmm? What is that?" Zayne looked at the azure key hovering over the platform.

[You have passed the second stage!]

[Take the Azure Key to choose which path the finals will take!]

[Wait for the other contestants to finish their challenges before moving on!]

Zayne grabbed the key, tossed it up, and moved it into the ring. Perhaps he should have been glad that he had already defeated two strong opponents in this Dungeon, but he felt strange.

Zayne looked around and muttered, "Last time I noticed that Enar was only watching us at the very end, but it's different now. Sacrificial Knight... He mentioned someone a few times, but who is she, and will we encounter her in the finale...?"

Whoooooooooooooooooooosh.

Zayne's thoughts were interrupted by a blue flash that appeared on the first of eight platforms. Out of the light, a tall silhouette slowly emerged.

"Damn... That was an intense battle." Luis uttered, slicking his long hair back and stepping forward with a predatory stare. Part of his body was covered in blood as crimson drops dripped from his spear, falling to the ground.

"Hah, looks like I'm not the only one who's been through a dangerous battle." Luis grinned, looking around.

There was a blue flame burning on the rocky ground, and in some places, there was a dense layer of ice, as if a blizzard and a fire had passed through here at the same time.

Zayne stared at Luis, "Are you done yet? Who did you have to fight, and where is your partner?"

Luis's corners of his mouth rose, forming a sly smirk, "Well, I had to work really hard to defeat a huge gargoyle, though I won't hide it, I enjoyed it as well as some cool rewards along with this key." Luis pulled the key from his belt.

Zayne said nothing more, only one thought passed through his mind, 'If you fought against an opponent made of stone, then why are you covered in blood and come without a partner?'
