Chapter 117 Dangerous Fight

A few minutes later, multiple men had unknowingly disappeared around their surroundings. The few men who were left could not help but look around in bewilderment.

At the same time, each of them took their respective weapons as they looked around in alert.

"Where are the others?" A man holding a wooden bat asked in a nervous voice.

The people around them had unknowingly disappeared, now, only six of them were left. The six of them were the ones who were playing with the gaming cards earlier.

Now, out of the many people that guarded the abandoned house, only six of them were left.

"C-could it be that they already changed shifts?" One of them asked, his voice cracked as he came closer towards his companion on his right.

"Change shift your ass. What do you think of us, a twenty-four-seven convenience store?" The man on his right slapped his head for spouting such nonsense.

"Be alert, I think we have been infiltrated by an enemy," the man at the center, holding a gun, said with a serious face.

Scar-face has especially told them to stay on the site and always be high on alert. None of them was supposed to leave twenty meters away, so for the others to disappear without trace, it could only mean that they were already taken care of by the enemy.

This information has also made him frown in nervousness.  The enemy was able to dispose of more than half of them without getting noticed. Doesn't that mean that the enemy was highly skilled?

They were only ordinary ruffians, how could they face such a fearsome opponent?

Perhaps, the others had also arrived at the same conclusion, as a moment later, they slowly retreated and faced each other's backs as they nervously looked around them.

"L-let's…let's check inside first if the hostages are still there," the one holding the gun said nervously.

The others nodded their heads. They slowly retreated towards the abandoned building.

Boom!

A sudden loud sound suddenly erupted in their ears, startling all of them to the point that one of them even yelped like a girl as he hugged the person next to him.

They were already pretty scared and nervous earlier. With the sudden sound, it was as if their souls left their bodies in fright.

As they say, the most fearsome enemy were not the strong ones, instead, it was those who hid in the dark and struck at the most optimal moment were the most fearsome of them all.

"W-Who's there?" the man in the middle said as he gulped a mouthful of saliva.

A deafening silence echoed on the surroundings which made them even more tense.

Scar-face ordered them to guard the hostages as he negotiated with their parents for the ransom money. Although they expected some sort of reinforcement from their enemy, none of them imagined that they would be this fast, and none of them thought that the enemy's backup was this fearsome.

This was already outside of their job description, none of the remaining six people dared to confront the unknown enemy head-on.

Meanwhile, at one corner of the place, Roland stood behind the shadow of a post.

He easily managed to dispose of the people earlier, and the only ones left were the six of them as they were together and he had not found the right opportunity to strike them yet.

Unfortunately, when he got closer to them, they had already realized that something was wrong.

Roland could only retreat back a little as one of them had already drawn out his gun.

The whole purpose of Roland sneaking around and disposing of the enemies one by one was to not let them alert the others who were not around.

Especially their boss, Scar-face and those who always stay beside him. Almost all of them had guns hidden under their clothes, it would not be easy taking care of them.

Anyways, now that the remaining six has already noticed the disappearance of the other four, Roland no longer cared about anything as he began to terrify them from the dark.

Slowly grinding their emotions down, Roland appeared in front of them like a ghost, the face of his shape hidden beneath the shadows of the contour of his face.

The six of them looked over towards him immediately, one of them back down a few steps in fright, while the other one regained a little courage and charged towards him like a maniac.

However, Roland ignored him as his figure disappeared like a smoke.

If it was the day, they would have some chances of catching his body with a blur. However, with the shadows help, Roland's body looked as if it disappeared in front of their eyes.

The six of them looked around in panic, the one holding the gun kept on pointing his gun everywhere, ready to open fire if he saw something out of the ordinary.

The man who charged at Roland courageously with his bat was left standing in the middle like a floor. With the outlet of his courage gone, the adrenaline that allowed him to rush forward also disappeared like a smoke.

Now, with his courage gone, fear overtook his emotion as his legs slowly wobbled like noodles.

Swoosh!

A gush of air suddenly went past him, the next moment, an ear piercing scream startled all of them in one go.

They looked at their side and realized that one of them was already missing.

Only five of them were left. One was scared shitless, the other four remained motionless, still processing what had happened to the companion beside them.

"G-ghost! I-its a ghost! Ahhh!" One of them could not hold back his fear anymore as he ran away and screamed.

However, his scream was suddenly cut off when a wooden bat smacked on his face at the next moment.

Seeing Roland's ghostly figure yet again, the one holding the gun finally had a target.

Without waiting any moment, he aimed the gun's muzzle towards him and squeezed the trigger like there was no tomorrow.

Bang! Bang! Bang!...

Six consecutive bangs resounded in the air.

The revolver was emptied in one go. A loud thud could be heard from the distance, as if a body had dropped to the ground.

If one observed carefully, one would be able to notice that it was the man who screamed as he ran earlier. One of the bullets had actually hit him, making him faint almost immediately after the bullet's force was paired by Roland's strike.

The eyes of the man holding the revolver lit-up, thinking that he had hit the target.

However, what he did not know was that the target that he was talking about, had already appeared behind him like a ghost.

Roland's ghostly hand suddenly reached and grabbed his neck, a fearful and merciless glint could be seen on his eyes as he twisted the man's neck forcefully.

Crack!
