Chapter 83 - Foreign Feelings (1/2)

"What are you doing here?" Zhao Fan barked, closing a beautifully designed boxed with a jade bracelet. She walked up next to Feng Huan and hooked her arms around his arm.

Feng Huan didn't remove his arms away from Zhao Fan's hold. Instead, he stared at the man standing beside Xiong Jingfei.

"Did you follow us?" Zhao Fan asked, drawing her brows closer. She wrapped her arms more tightly around Feng Huan's arm. Afraid he would push her away again in front of Xiong Jingfei.

Xu Cheng did not dart away from Feng Huan's icicle eyes like most would. He met with his eyes straight on and did not turn away when asking, "Feifei, do you know them?"

Feng Huan's jawline tightens, hearing the way the man beside her addresses her name. He must be familiar enough with Xiong Jingfei to call her by that name.

Xiong Jingfei sighed, she really wished she didn't know them. Then they wouldn't be making a scene and drag Xu Cheng into this mess. She didn't want him involved in Zhao Fan's jealousy.

She reluctantly nodded her head. Ugh, what a small world. How did she encounter them out of all places? Are they fated to keep bumping into each other!

Let's see, earlier today after having lunch with Xu Suying's family. Xu Cheng asked her for a favor.

"Would you like to go out with me today?" Xu Cheng started before realizing his sentence can also mean something else. Quickly, he corrected himself, "D-don't misunderstand! I'm not asking you on a date. I need help looking for a gift for a woman."

Xiong Jingfei giggled at Xu Cheng's fl.u.s.tered face. He was no longer the composed strict lawyer but the boy in her childhood memories.

"Oh, it's not for a woman I am seeing!" Xu Cheng sighed, recomposing himself. "Let me start over, I am looking for a gift for my co-worker's wife. I was invited to attend her birthday party, but I don't know what to give her."

She smiled and accepted his request. She couldn't refuse him when he was already helping her out. It's just, the person who knows about gifting best was actually Xu Suying. Still, since he asked, she should be able to return a little of the favor this way.

"Are you going without me?" Xu Suying popped up between them. She glared at her brother for not offering to have her come along. "I have things to buy too."

"Don't you always?" Xu Cheng teased, ruffling Xu Suying's hair playfully. This is why he didn't want to ask her to come along. Always spending on unnecessary things.

"Brother!" Xu Suying shouted, fixing her hair back to the style she had it in. "Do you know how long it took me to get it to look like this?"

"I looked at your spending this month, and it looks like I will have to cut your spending this month!" Xu Cheng laughed, enjoying Xu Suying's annoyance. She was the most obedient when you mention how much she is allowed to spend.

Xiong Jingfei smiled at Xu Cheng and Xu Suying's sibling interaction. She really wished she had a sibling relation like them. No matter what happens, Xu Cheng is always on Xu Suying's side. He may complain about his little sister's unlimited spending, but in truth, he did not care.

Xu Suying is the youngest and the only daughter. So, she is spoiled by both her parents and older brother. They had more than enough earnings to let Xu Suying spend to her heart's content. However, Xu Cheng is the only family member at the same time willing to discipline her from overspending.

While at the mall, they were actually shopping for Xu Suying. Instead of the real goal of why they were there. It was about time Xu Suying sneaked off on her own. She didn't want her brother to know how much she was actually planning on spending on one item.

"Sorry to leave you with my brother, but I need to get that thing I told you about." Xu Suying whispered, then dashed down the stairs and disappeared.

Xu Cheng sighed. He already saw it coming. His little sister was planning on getting something outside the budget he had given her.

Xiong Jingfei tapped on Xu Cheng's shoulder. She noticed that he has been sighing a lot since they were at their house. He must be stressing out on what to gift. Funny how he stressed out more about this than his real work. He deals with many different types of clients without worries, but here he was sighing for a gift.

"Should we look for the reason why we came here?" Xu Cheng grinned, gesturing for Xiong Jingfei to lead the way for him.

She nodded her head but had to ask him one thing. She wrote down on a small notepad that was bought along the way.

'Did your co-worker ever mention what his wife likes?'

"Hmm, I recalled him mentioning that she likes to drink tea." Xu Cheng answered, looking down at Xiong Jingfei but broke eye contact from her. He loosened his tie, "Should I get her some tea leaves?"

She shook her head. Gifting tea leaves is a good start for a gift, but she is sure that his co-worker's wife has a lot of it already. He should get something meaningful.

Xiong Jingfei walked up to the mall map. She traced her finger against the glass, reading the name of the shop available in the mall. She did come to a sudden stop, but Xu Cheng didn't know which shop name she stopped at. She was too quick to turn around.

Xiong Jingfei dragged Xu Cheng by the hand in a hurry. She didn't want the best looking ones to be sold out! Her short legs were running, but Xu Cheng's long legs felt like it was taking a stroll.

In which when they arrived, Xu Cheng assumed this was the shop Xiong Jingfei's finger stopped at.
