Although they were following the commands of the king, the summoners looked down quite a bit on Ethan. They kept summoning slimes to face him until he leveled up a few times, and he decided to increase his speed. Upon noticing that the strange kid suddenly got faster, they decided to summon several other types of monsters. Giant Bees, Horned Rabbits, and even some mushrooms that could walk and use poison. In a single morning, Ethan reached level five. Still, he could have leveled up even more if the summoners hadn't underestimated him.

"Now I remember… the people living in the capital, most of them were lazy guys like them."

Still, that worked well for Ethan. Even though the summoned monsters were weak, Ethan learned how fundamental the training of the previous week had been. His vitality and overall strength increased a lot thanks to some skills. While Ethan could always train those skills in combat, he felt like he would be able to learn more by practicing by himself for at least a few hours every day. Surprisingly and conveniently enough, Alexander decided to visit and see Ethan's training with his own eyes at lunchtime.

"Oh? It looks like you made some real progress this morning, Ethan," king Alexander said.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Ethan nodded. "While that seems good and all, I would like to request to spend half of the day training by myself, and I want to sharpen the skills those three taught me."

Although Lucius only taught Ethan how to meditate, even though he wasn't using mana right now, Ethan could tell that that skill also helped him improve his concentration. Not only that, but he also could feel himself mentally stronger. Ignoring those skills wouldn't be wise in the long run.

"Very well, if you think that is the right thing to do, you should follow that path," king Alexander said. "Still, I would like you to prepare yourself as fast as possible. I am preparing an expedition for the next week, and I think you should participate. Training and fighting alone is important, but you should see and experience what a real battlefield looks like."

"Certainly, I will be ready by that time," Ethan nodded.

Ethan left in a hurry and began to run around the castle as fast as he could. He recalled that those days had certainly been boring, but at the same time, they had been the days where he felt most fulfilled. Progressing and getting stronger by training hard instead of relying on Omni Hero… maybe that was why he tried to follow that route when he returned to Earth. However, eventually, those days came to an end, the expedition the king had prepared to slay the horde of gremlins was about to be carried out, and Ethan joined the army that was sent there. When Ethan entered the carriage, he canceled Zen.

"This is enough for today… I have to go to school."

Fourteen hours had passed while Ethan experienced those days again. Although he was ready to face his past, he couldn't just ignore his present. Regardless, things proceeded fairly decently for him.

"Good, this pace is decent enough."

William and Evelyn noticed that something had changed inside him. They didn't know what he was doing, but they realized that Ethan skipped dinner to keep sitting on his bed, apparently doing nothing. Regardless, they didn't notice any changes that seemed bad per se, so they acted like usual.

At that point in time, Ethan was already used to it, even though it seemed like a bad joke of destiny. Regardless, the first person he saw after teleporting to school had been Ian. The number of students that came to school that day increased, but it looked like a good number of them were at home watching the news about the dungeons.

"Wassup," Ian said. "I feel like you are going to come to the school even if the world is about to end."

"Do you have any interesting information about what happened yesterday?" Ethan asked.

"Cutting to the chase, as usual, huh," Ian shrugged. "Well, not really… strangely enough, the flow of information coming from those countries stopped after a few hours. We are investigating to see what happened. Anyway, did Emily come to school yesterday? As usual, I tried to talk with her, but she ignored me."

"If she came, I didn't see her," Ethan replied. "I stayed here until noon."

"That is weird. I thought a big-brain nerd like her would never miss a school day," Ian said. "Can you call her? I would bet she will attend your calls."

Ethan didn't really get all buddy-buddy with Ian since he occasionally did things to get on his nerves. Still, Ethan decided to call Emily. However, she didn't pick up the call. He didn't think they were that close, but Ethan didn't think they were strangers to each other anymore, at least to the point where she would ignore his calls.

"… I guess she is sick or something," Ethan said.

"What sickness would stop a hero? Did you forget that she is a talented magician?" Ian frowned. "Ah… you won't be so denial about this, Ethan. That happens, you know. Boys of our age always jump to conclusions when pretty girls are part of the equation."

"Yeah, right. You saw through me," Ethan said. "I admitted, now are you satisfied? If you don't have anything to say, I am leaving."
