Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Scourge arrives

Alex climbed out of the virtual gaming paid with a frown on his face. His gaze looked cold and fierce as he sat on the ground while leaning on the pod before shutting his eyes. Images of the final moments of the fight crossed his mind making him feel restless.

All this while he assumed he would be able to deal with at least blue level mutated beasts outside the protective walls of this country but it seems he was wrong. At the final moment he dealt a devastating blow to the lightning wolf, probably shattering his skull but what people didn’t realize is that the recoil hit from his technique backfired, claiming his life as well. At his current level using the Third form of the Demon-Kin’s first stage twice is akin to suicide! He cannot afford to do this in real life.

“Thankfully I got to figure it out in a game before it’s too late” Alex muttered with his eyes shut tight.

At this point, he could only confess that he is unable to deal with even the weakest mutated beasts that can be found in this world with his level of strength. He may be able to fight back and flee but he cannot win without paying a major price for his victory.

What Alex failed to understand is why the Briggs have refused to grant him access to the second stage of the demon-kin martial technique. He could be considered a genius amongst his peers! Mastering the first stage of the Demon-kin martial technique at such a young age! He wondered why these people would just decide not to take advantage of this and use him to his full potential!

“You lost too?” Silver’s voice drew his attention to the hand offered to him.

After some slight hesitation, Alex caught his hand and dragged himself up. He looked directed and frustrated making Silver wonder if he should laugh or cry.

“It’s just one loss man, it’s not the end of the world! If it makes you feel better, all representatives of the Big four lost, so it’s not just you” Silver tried to cheer Alex up but he kept frowning even more.

“I am not pissed off by the fact that we lost. I am just feeling uncomfortable knowing that without a beast gear I have no means of surviving out there when going up against wolf threat mutated beasts!” Alex said with clenched fists.

“We need to get stronger” Alex added after a while, making Silver smile.

“Now that’s the spirit!” Silver laughed before throwing his hand over Alex’s shoulder while walking out of the classroom with him.

Returning to his home with Silver, Alex quickly made Silver create a new ID for him. The gaming pod was installed in the underground training chamber in the mansion. He may have failed to win against the beast as Alex Briggs but what if he comes in as the most popular person in the academy!

Seeing the new account gets registered, those still within the game were excited and many chose to spectate. Scourge has been a major topic in the military academy and what is more shocking is that his identity is yet to be revealed. His strength can be considered unknown since it has only been used on the powerless human freshers and no one has seen him in a real fight.

Apart from Alex, the other representatives of the big four chose to lose to the lightning Wolf. They all fought well and delivered fatal injuries but they still lost. Using them as the standard, many people wanted to know just how strong Scourge is!

Scourge appeared in the arena, wearing his signature black hooded sweater with black trousers and black boots. He wore a black glove and on his face was a black pitch black weird-looking mask. Seeing this man many people at the spectating area were excited but what got them even more excited was the appearance of the members of the Big four.

Who would have thought such important figures would come to spectate a match like this?

“Alex isn’t planning to watch?” Zero asked with narrowed eyebrows when he noticed Alex was missing.

“He was crazy pissed because he narrowly won against the lightning wolf...” Silver gave a short explanation.

Seeing Tristan nod in agreement, the others let the matte slide and focus on the match about to start!

“Who do you think will win?” Dan asked in a gloomy tone while gazing at the figure in the arena.

“It is said you lost because you refused to use your abilities, the same goes for Kira... I don’t know why but is there any point in hiding your strength now?” Silver said with a raised eyebrow.

“I have my reasons... Either way, I cannot tell how strong he is... This Scourge guy id shrouded in mystery” Dan said with a slight frown.

“His gravity ability makes him a specialist... If he does well here I will invite him to join the Hall family right away” Zero said confidently.

Silver could only laugh in silence while Tristan showed no interest in their conversation at all. They all wanted to see how powerful ‘Scourge’ is!

” No,” Alex said without hesitation making the spectators even more excited

They watched as the massive lightning wolf appeared, alongside the life bar above its head, staring hard at Alex.

Immediately the timer reached zero the massive gray wolf charged forward with all its might, making the ground beneath its feet shatter! Seeing this many people gasped in shock but what was more shocking was that Scourge refused to make a move he just stood there and watched as the massive wolf approached at an astonishing speed, making people wonder...
