Chapter 28

Name:Descent of the Demon God Author:
“Whoaaaaaaa!”

After a while of cheering, they quickly ran out of their cells. They ransacked the special unit offices on the first floor to find the unlock code for the handcuffs and then freed themselves. Soon, they were out of the building. It was only 4 o’clock in the morning, but it was still very dark outside. However, the entire PSB seemed awfully quiet.

“Why is it so quiet?”

The gang members became curious. They heard the sound of assault rifles, so there should have been a trace of heavy fighting everywhere. But the compound seemed too quiet and serene.

“This is strange.”

Sohn Mengdal freed himself from the handcuffs and focused on his senses to see if there was anyone around, but there wasn’t. One of the members then came up and spoke to him.

“I think Big Boss called in a professional! Damn, this is nice!”

It seemed like a logical conclusion and Sohn Mengdal nodded. If it was this cleanly done, then maybe there was no danger in escaping out of here. That’s when Sohn Mengdal heard something.

‘There’s someone around!’

He turned toward the sound, and it was in the direction of the entrance of the main building. It seemed like there was a person there. He wasn’t sure if it was ally or enemy, but if it was PSB agent, then he had to take care of it before they called for reinforcements.

“Follow me. I think we have a mess to take care of.”

Sohn Mengdal used stepping skills to move ahead, and his members followed him. They were all trained in martial arts, so using stepping skills was easy.

Sohn Mengdal approached the main building and pushed open the glass door. As he walked in, he became shocked at the distinct smell of thick blood.

“Is this blood?”

“Wasn’t it all taken care of?”

The smell of blood filled the entire building. This was very strange. It was when they began to grow weary of this strange situation.

*step*

They heard another sound of footsteps.

[It’s that way.]

[Yes, Boss.]

Sohn Mengdal sent a telepathic message, and six of his members all approached the direction of the sound quietly. It was very dark as all lights were out, but they still saw green light going out toward the emergency exit. And when they almost got toward the elevator—

They felt like they had stepped in some puddle by the floor. One of the members felt like it was strange to find a puddle and reached down with his hand near his foot sole. He then smelled the liquid.

“It’s blood.”

It was a blood puddle. They then felt strange and looked forward.

“!!!!”

They were so shocked that they almost screamed. There were ten bodies that seemed to be from the special forces lying in front of the elevator. None of the bodies were in good shape as they were heavily mutilated from countless bullets. They thought their gang had taken care of things, but it seemed like they were wrong in that judgment.

[T-this is strange. We should get out of…]

It was then.

*BOOOOOOOM*

“Aaargh!”

Something flew toward them and penetrated through the six of them. In terrible pain, one of them was barely able to scream.

“I-it’s a trap…! Run…!”

‘?!’

Sohn Mengdal and the other members became shocked by the shout and turned back without hesitation.

‘Dammit! I knew it!’

He was worried as things seemed to be way too easy. He quickly ran out of the building with his members and began using their stepping skills to run as fast as they could.

And from the glass door of the main building, there was a shadow with long hair looking at the gang members quickly getting out of the PSB compound. When the gang members were all gone, the black shadow also disappeared.

*beep*

The elevator LED that showed the floor location beeped one by one and stopped on the 5th floor.

In the early morning with not that many people heading out to work, a black sedan was driving fast through the street. There was one man in his mid-thirties in a clean suit talking on a flexible smartphone. His name was Jo Yusung.

“Yes, yes, Director. Thank you for taking care of it even though it was late at night. I will meet you in your office before 10 am.”

As the phone call ended, Jo Yusung smiled satisfyingly and wrapped the smartphone around his wrist. He was tired from working overnight without sleep, but he was able to get satisfying result.

‘All that’s needed is to take him out then.’

Every preparation was done. He had the documents and identities. It was perfect. He was proud of himself for doing all of this within 12 hours.

‘What time is it right now?’

He then turned on the monitor placed on the back of the front car seat. The monitor flashed the screen and showed him the time on the right side. It was a little past 6 am in the morning.

‘I barely got it in time.’

It was about 6 o’clock when he suggested it to Chun Yeowun. It was going to take him about 30 to 40 minutes for him to get to PSB Headquarters. He figured Yeowun would understand a little delay in the promised time.

-Breaking news.

He then saw a news program popping up on the television with the breaking news. The channel was set to the Simyang City News Station. It wasn’t time for the news, but it seemed like something big had happened. The person on TV began to speak hastily.

-Members of the Fire Head gang broke out of the PSB Headquarters’ temporary cells and have killed over 30 PSB agents in the progress…

The news began to show the PSB surveillance camera that showed members of the Fire Head gang going into the building. Then there was the dark footage of rifles being fired.

“Hmm…”

That was all there was to the recording. Then came the press conference regarding the issue. A middle-aged man who seemed to be the director of the PSB was announcing the matter.

-It is unfortunate that we have…

“Wh-what happened there?”

Jo Yusung became dumbfounded. He couldn’t understand what had happened during the 12 hours he had been gone.
