Chapter 139 139 – Out Of The Ordinary

Finally, Robyn met some minotaurs, and they brought Lana to Lexi's residence. The doctor immediately checked the woman's pulse, then her black lips.

Robyn just stood there tensely, looking at Lana, who still hadn't woken up. And not long after, Ritor entered the treatment room.

"I'm still checking on her," Lexi explained before the minotaur general could ask. "I still need time to be able to answer you."

So, Ritor turned to Robyn, who 'found' Lana in that rocky place. Robyn could only lower her head with cold sweat and a wild heartbeat.

Obviously, she is guilty of this. She should have told Lana's real location, not given false information.

The minotaur general opened his mouth. "So, you found her…."

"She tried to prevent me from drinking the potion, but I did it anyway."

The voice turned attention to the bed. Lana opened her eyes and smiled.

"Lana…." Ritor approached the bed. Lana raised her hand, and the minotaur general held it.

"I'm sorry I worried you," Lana spoke in a weak tone. "However, I want to give you something more, Ritor. So, I did this."

Ritor sighed, kneeling beside the bed. "You know you don't have to do that, right?"

"I know, but let's just say this is my selfishness." The woman widened her smile. "And I already feel a change from within me. I'm different from before."

Lexi widened her eyes, took Lana's left hand, and pulled a needle from her robe pocket.

"Sorry." Without asking for approval, Lexi poked the tip of Lana's index finger with the needle, causing Ritor's lover to flinch a bit. Then, the doctor put the dripping blood onto her own finger.

The drop of blood glowed purple shortly after, and Lexi gasped hard.

"What is it?" Ritor asked tensely.

With an incredibly stiff movement, the doctor turned to the minotaur general. "It's hard for me to explain… The point is, she is in the process of becoming a demon."

The atmosphere in the room became quiet. Lana widened her smile with tears dripping down. That woman then looked at her lover.

"I have become your woman completely." She whispered.

Slowly, Ritor stroked her hair. Lana's chin dropped slightly. Previously, Ritor had never done such a thing.

"We still need to keep an eye on you, Lana." Lexi gulped, holding back her excitement. As someone who admired demons, this success was undoubtedly an outstanding achievement. "So you can't do anything yet."

Lana responded. "But I want to immediately do…."

"There's still time." Ritor cut off his lover's words and smiled too, a thing he also rarely shows. "No rush."

Before Lana could respond, the minotaur general looked up. "I was at Doc's, my lord. Yes, Lana looks fine."

He was on a long-distance call from Lord Vorn. So, he was silent because he listened to his master.

"Now, my lord?" He looked back at Lana.

That woman held her lover's hand again. "It's okay. I'll be fine here."

"Very well, I'll be right there, Your Highness." After saying that, the minotaur general sighed and spoke to Lana again. "I have to go now. It's about a mission we have to do."

"Until we meet again, my love." Lana's smile bloomed again, and Ritor kissed her forehead.

Without saying anything else, that minotaur general rose and turned around, only to find his two subordinates sobbing.

"This really touches my heart, sir Ritor." One of them even blew his nose.

Snorting in annoyance, Ritor punched his two subordinates in the face until they staggered. "We have to go to the main base now!"

Lana chuckled when she saw the three giant creatures exit the room.

"So…." Lexi brought her face closer to the wavy brown-haired woman. The doctor's eyes began to twinkle. "What do you feel now?"

"Well, I didn't feel any pain, but my body wasn't comfortable. It was like something was stuck in my chest. And I felt some kind of energy rising up inside of me… Also, my vision became sharper."

"Doc." Robyn, who had been silent all this time, came to Lexi. That woman with short-blond hair glanced at Lana for a moment, then asked. "I drank the potion too, Doc. However, I don't feel anything. Can you check on me too?"

***

Robyn ran with tears that kept flowing. Lexi had taken her blood, but it didn't emit purple light like Lana's when it was filled with special magic energy.

So, she is still human. Lexi didn't know why that happened. She could only surmise that not all humans could become demons.

And most likely, those people could never become demons forever, no matter what.

Fatigue had taken over Robyn's body, and it was getting more difficult for her lungs to get air. She stopped and bent down, trying to catch her breath.

"Are you crying?"

Robyn hastily straightened up and wiped away her tears as soon as she heard that voice.

Turns out it was Bran who spoke. He was lifting a small wooden stick.

"What are you doing here?" The woman asked while looking away. She doesn't care what Bran does.

She just doesn't want them to discuss why she was crying.

"Well, I'm currently doing research for long-distance communication….. The point is, I'm checking how far this magic signal will continue to connect. The center is in the base." That man lowered his stick. "This is so we can all communicate with each other…."

"Congratulations then." Robyn started to walk away. "You will surely be appreciated by lord Vorn for your role."

Bran raised an eyebrow at the sudden remark. "Well, Lord Vorn's men are numerous, and what he's built is enormous. It would be impossible if he had to appreciate our work one by one. Maybe he will forget me later, but the important thing is that I have become a part of what he built."

Robyn stopped walking and faced Bran again. "Really? Are you satisfied with just that?"

"What else can we do?" Bran shrugged. "Well, at least Lord Vorn gave me a chance to become a magic scientist, something I couldn't achieve in normal human society…. Hey, do you remember what Lord Vorn gave you?"

Robyn instantly recalled the times when she was saved by the demon lord.

She sighed, then continued on her way. "You wouldn't understand, Bran."

That man scratched his hair, unable to understand Robyn's behavior.

"Woman." He shrugged, then resumed his research activity.
