Chapter 283 - Pay For The Price

Luna and Raymond were chatting and giggling when Raymond saw the waitress lead someone he knew from the entrance to their table. He held Luna's hands and signal her that the guest they've been waiting for is here.

"Mr. Wayne, your guest has arrived." Said the waitress politely. After saying thanks to the waitress, Caitlin smile at the couple before they sit down back and order some dinner.

"How are you, Caitlin?" Raymond start first, and Caitlin looks at Luna before she replies to him. "Good, I think. How about you? You seem happier now."

Raymond nods his head. "More than just happy," he said it clearly, which make Caitlin smiles a little. Well, at least someone is happy.

"So..why did you invite me to this dinner? It's not about my sister, I assume? Heh, …she's never been in your eyes ever since you get back together." Caitlin sips on the wine after she mutters the last word.

Ignoring the question, Raymond introduces Luna to her. "By the way, Caitlin. This is Luna. My fiance. I do hope you not harbor any bad feelings to her. As what to happen-"

"She's not your fiance, Raymond. We both know that. At least I know that. She's your wife, isn't she? The 'wife' that is supposed to be dead five years ago. She came back and claimed her position. Suddenly my sister became crazy and died in her own action. Well…don't worry, I didn't harbor any bad feeling to you." She looks at Luna. "I never like her as well." the smile on her face make Luna a bit intimidated.

"What did you know? How far do you know about this?" Raymond clench on his fork. Someone other than his people know about it could be dangerous.

Looking at how protective Raymond towards Luna makes Caitlin giggles a bit. "You really love her, aren't you?"

'No wonder Sarah becomes more frenzy after returning from Singapore, huh? You never treat my sister the same way you treat your wife.'

"Are you going to tell the world that I'm still alive?" Luna suddenly interrupts, looking at the girl in front of her. Knowing that she is the one that Brian likes…Luna was lost in her thoughts.

Well, to be honest, she's beautiful. Unlike Sarah, her beauty is genuine, and she's a bit taller. Her figure also looks like a model. Sadly, she refuses to be with Brian. Maybe because of what happened in their past?

Chuckles, Caitlin shook her head and took another sip. "Why would I want to waste my time? It's your own business. Not mine."

With her answer, Luna crosses her name from her enemy list. "So, why did you left Brian that day?" Luna asked as she couldn't help but wonder why someone like her refuse Brian, who is gentle and kind?

"That.." She put down her glass and staring at Luna. Trying to figure out her mind. "Wait, is this the reason why you two call me for dinner?"

"What? No! It's just my personal question to you." Luna denied it as that's not the real reason at all. Only Raymond, who knows why he invites her here tonight.

"Oh? Then…I guess I could only say that...I don't love him. Is it enough to convince you?" Caitlin shrugged her shoulder.

"Then, why did Sarah-"

"Ah~ my sister loves fame and money, you know…if she can't have your husband, why not she aims a little higher? You know what I mean. Right, Raymond?" She turns her head to Raymond. She sure Raymond knows her sister's actual color. And yet he still falls for her when they're still young.

"Okay..cut the topic about Sarah. Let's go to the real reason why I call you tonight." Raymond looks at both of them while holding Luna's hands. He knew Luna can sort out her feelings about what happened to Brian.

Well, if only Luna knew the real history between them both, Luna might not be sided with Brian at all. But, he can't blame Luna too. She is just..too soft.

As for him, he always sided with Harry. He knew how broken-hearted Harry at that time. Yeah, they both experience a similar tragic love story.

"Sorry. I took your time to-"

"No, no..it's okay.." Raymond smiles at Luna and looks at Caitlin afterward.

Sit straight, Caitlin whirl the wine in her glass. "Shoot. I'll listen."

"Regarding Ramona."

The name of Ramona makes Caitlin stop whirling her wine. She sighed and put the glass back on the table. Luckily she didn't order any food as she only took the wine.

"Okay, what about her?"

"Why did you plant the evidence on my sister? I did my own investigation and found that she's not the boss. She just a mere dealer at some night club. But the charge on her can't be lifted up because of the concrete evidence that you've planted. So, is there a reason why you did this, Caitlin?" Raymond asks with a serious tone, which makes Luna and Caitlin turned silent.

Luna was a bit shocked by what Raymond just said while Caitlin was startled with how did he knew about the evidence? After a few seconds of silence, Raymond said again, "I'm not here to judge you. I just want to know the reason. I know my sister is not a good person, and I'm not siding with her about what she does. But you…I don't know what your grudge towards her is."

Close her eyes for a second, Caitlin then took another sip before she said. "I don't really hate your sister. To be honest, I thought her as my friend. But, she did something to me that makes me lost everything."

With that being said by Caitin, Raymond turned silent. Waiting for her to tell him more about it.

"She makes me lost something that I love so much. She makes me go to prison for the thing that I have never done." chuckles, she looks at Luna with her red eyes. "I think you might understand how it feels. You've been through the same thing as me too."

"The difference is that…your husband loves you so much. While me…I was left alone to die because of the shame and betrayal that I didn't do." She sniffles a little while wiping her tears that fall on her cheek, remembering her dark days.

Luna was totally speechless. She thought she already went through the worst, but there's someone out there who went a lot worst than her. Maybe that's also the reason why she can't accept Brian back.

Without noticing it, Luna also teary a bit. It's hurt to go through the trials alone. She knows how it feels, just like what Caitlin said. She precisely knew how hard it is to stand up again after the fall.

"It's up to you if you want to leak it to the world of what I've done. But…it doesn't change the fact that your sister is a drug dealer. If you release her now, there's no guarantee she'd be a better person in the future. If you're done..then…excuse me." She took her bag and left Luna and Raymond at the restaurant.

Once Caitlin has gone, Luna leans her head on Raymond's shoulder. "I feel sorry for her," said Luna. She sighed deeply. Not know what to do either. In two days, Sarah's funeral will be held by her family. It's said that Rochester's family is banned from entering the business world again. They have lost everything now.

"I know. But now...I think Ramona had no other choice but to repent on what she's done. She's been raised by my parents as a spoilt girl. I think it's gonna be hard for her from now on." Raymond caress on Luna's hair.

If two of their enemies are gone, then it's only a matter of time before they find the evidence of what actually happened five years ago. If it really had a connection with both of his parents then…

'Maybe it's really the end for my family. We all should pay for the price of what we've done.'

….

Nevada,

"Yo, Coby! Do you know my bro?? He's getting a job now! He said that they pay well, my bro got a job at the mansion up the hill~ Ah, that boy is nothing but always talk big..hic!"

Flynn sips his glass of scotch while listening to the drunkard talk between the locals here. They always gather at the bar and from the lead he got, he believes that the mansion those drunkard mention is the place where James Wayne hide Alex.

It's quite a rural area which no other building around. But, the security James put on his little mansion is quite a top-notch. To sneak around, it will be too exposing.

So, the other way to get in is to find a way to be a worker there. Since this drunkard already spills the information, he just needs to see that 'bro,' he said earlier.

Flynn sips his drink again while glancing his eyes on the news on the television screen. It is said that the funeral of Sarah Rochester will be held this Saturday, and the Ramona Wayne case is still in the proceeding before the final verdict at the end of this week.

'It seems like every bad guy got their punishment, huh? Soon, there'll be another news about Wayne again.'
