Chapter 278 - The Deals I can Offer

It is already passed twelve when Raymond and Luna return to their home, but what surprised them is the figure of someone waiting for them outside of their penthouse. They both look at each other before Raymond started.

"What are you doing here, mom? It's already late right now." Raymond holds Luna's waist close to him. Protecting her from his mother's reach.

Gasping while look at both of them, Barbara asked. "Did you two live together? Since when?" She was a little surprised to see the woman standing beside her son.

"Why'd you care? Anyway, it's late now. You better get home before dad finds you out at this late." Raymond said with a bit stern and cold voice. Hoping that his mother will understand that he doesn't like her to come here at this hours. After all, this is his private property that no one knows. He wonders who tells her about this place?

When Raymond took a step forward, Barbara immediately kneeling on the floor. Tears stream down hon er cheeks while clutching on Raymond's trouser. "Please..help your sister, Raymond. She's in a bad situation."

Luna was a bit surprised to see once, an arrogant woman who is only thinking she's right, kneeling before her husband. On top of that, begging for Ramona's life? Did something happen to her while Luna is unaware?

She thought Ramona is already retreated from attacking her and decide to live in a decent life. What happens while she's not aware? 'Did I missed something important??' Luna keeps guessing what she's been missing in her mind but failed to find one.

She then turns to look at Raymond, who sighed before he's replying to Barbara. "She did it to herself, mom. Why would I need to help her? She should think before she acts, she's not a kid anymore." again, Luna was confused. 'What is this with this conversation? I'm so lost..'

"But she's your sister, Raymond! She's my only daughter! I can't ask for your father's help, or he'll kill me if I failed." Barbara's still wailing and yelling. It's really uncomfortable. Luckily there's only Raymond's unit on this floor. Otherwise, they are gonna get complaints from their neighbors.

"Mom..do you think I don't know who she is? I'm already in my thirties, mom. I've long known she's not my biological sister. Although we came from the same w.o.m.b, we had a different father, aren't we? If your husband refuses to help her, then why would I?"

Luna gulped. 'Seriously? Will he just ignore his little sister like that? I don't know what happens, but it must be something bad for that old snake to beg Ray like this..'

"Please, Raymond…. she's growing up with you. She always been your sister throughout your entire life. Can't you just do me a favor as your mother then?"

Chuckles, Raymond shakes his head. "I wonder. What kind of sister who schemed her brother and threatening my wife to leave me? Who's the one who likes to lie about her private life and always make a mess afterward? Did I work as her janitor or what?"

Barbara's shocked with what she just heard, stuttering she asked him while lifting her head up, "Di-did you…remember?" she thought Raymond was already born as a new person! Why would he mention his dead wife again?

"I got a gist of it. But, I'm not wrong either, aren't I?" Raymond coldly said and yanked his feet from his mother's clutch. 

"N-no, no! She- she-"

"Mom! I don't want to call the security guard on you as you hold an important name, but I have my own limit. Please, go back home. It's late now, and I'm so f.u.c.k.i.n.g tired to listen to this matter." Raymond cut her word and tap his key card to enter his apartment with Luna.

The door automatically locked from inside after they went inside, and Luna slowly walks behind Raymond. "Are you okay, darling?" she asked with a gentle voice.

It must be hard for him to do a harsh thing like that to his mother. Even though Barbara is not excellent either, but seeing she throw her ego and even kneeling to Raymond kinda makes her feels a bit soft inside.

"I'm okay. Don't worry."Raymond turns his body to Luna and smiles at her. "It's late. You should go to bed first. I still had a little work to check on." Raymond kissed her forehead and went to his study.

Seeing Raymond act like that, Luna feels a little guilty inside her heart. She then walks to the study and stuck out her head from the door frame, "Darling…" she said, and Raymond lifts up his head and looks at the door.

"I think…you should help her. She is…after all, your little sister. Do this favor, will you?" Luna smiles before she went back to the bedroom.

Sighing deeply, Raymond lean his head back to his chair and rub his temple. It's such a difficult thing to do. "You're always soft-hearted, Luna." he murmurs before he looks up again at the case of his sister.

The night went long as he studies the way to help his little sister. He was doing it not for him nor his mother's request, but because it was from Luna. Only when it's dawn break, Raymond returns to the bedroom and sleeps while hugging his 'favorite pillow.'

At noon the next day,

Knock! Knock!

Lily run to the door and open it. All the bodyguard of her father has been chase away with a hard task from her. And only left her with one of the bodyguards which she already drugs him to sleep, including Jamal.

Looking at two of the people who are standing in front of her, Lily couldn't deny it, they look good together somehow. "Come on in." She said, and went to the side of the door. 

Flynn was a bit startled when he saw the little girl from last time. But he decides to trust Caitlin and wait for her to explain later. As they both walk in, they can see two men leaning on each other's backs while…sleeping?

"Who are they?" Caitlin asked. 'Isn't it a bit too quiet? She's a princess of Lawrence, shouldn't she have tight security around her?'

"They're just my bodyguard and Alex's. So, don't mind them. I gave them sleeping dose so they wouldn't interrupt our business." Lily closed the door and head to the room on the right, which more like a comfortable hall like at home.

Meanwhile, Flynn raises his eyebrow to Caitlin. Asking her what the hell is happening right now? Why would a five-year-old little girl drug somebody? And where the heck did she find those drugs?

Caitlin shakes her head before she smiles a little. "She's..special," Caitlin whisper to him and follow the little girl to the hall. Sitting on the sofa patiently.

"Do you guys want a drink? I only have…" Lily looks inside the small fridge under the TV cabinet. "Um..twister orange." she took the bottle and put it on the table.

"Thanks." Caitlin looks at the drink before she asks Flynn if he wants a drink or not. But Flynn shakes his head politely.

"Okay…" Lily closed the fridge and went to sit down on the sofa opposite them both. "Let's begin."

She starts her story from where it happens during her mother's experiment, Gen-X. It was rejected by her father's doing and the start of making the A.I, Kiera. It is actually to protect someone's 'important' and precious to her mother, and somehow, the A.I ended at her hands now.

Caitlin and Flynn listen carefully to it, and only once or twice, they'll ask Lily. But, all the question got the answer they're looking for.

And then she told them about the attack from the organization that she can't trace without Sky's help. The ultimate brain between the three of them. She also had to reveal Sky's identity hoping these two can be trusted.

The story of Alex's family also briefly connects with what happens and how Kiera's becomes a valuable object. The evidence they want is inside Kiera's memory. However, Sky has put some high-security level since the day he gave back Kiera's to her.

Kiera's cannot be turned on and stay in sleep mode. She can't even crack it. She thought the other one who can reach Kiera's ability is the one who's Caitlin possessed, Eli. Since Eli has a similar algorithm as Kiera's.

She also needs Eli to locate the whereabouts of those two boys.

After hearing it and calculating it, Caitlin leans her body to the sofa while Flynn crossed his fingers and was sunk deep in his thought. The three of them silence for nearly ten minutes.

"I can help you by lending Eli's access to you. But…what would you do if I have to arrest you after saving your friends?" Caitlin asked. Flynn still needs to close his case if he wants to retire and start a new life with her. Which means, arresting Lily.

"I don't mind if you want to arrest me or what. But what I need to do right now is to save my friends. These are the deals I can offer you, arrest me. I will comply and even create a new security system for you guys, the CIA's, but as an exchange, let me be the only one who got arrested. Leave those two boys alone."
