Chapter 268 - I'm A Victim

Outskirt of Veracruz's, Mexico.

"Where the hell is this place?" Ramona mumbles alone while keep looking around the outside of the truck. It's dark outside, and she is now entering a remote place to send these goods to its owner.

"You better shut your mouth, bitch. If they ask your name, just stay quiet and do what they tell you, you hear me?" the man who accompanies her today warned her with a threatening voice.

It seems like Ramona had no choice other than following this guy's order. She gulped and focusing back on driving the truck up to the hill. There are no big trees all the way up and only had a few bushes around them. The air also feels a bit dry and dusty.

She wonders if Nick will contact her today as she turned off her phone since she's landing here. The deal that should end a few hours ago is now dragged to the nighttime. She starts cursing inwardly, thinking how stupid she is to trust her partner in doing business with those drug cartels.

A few minutes' drive, she finally saw something lit up on the hill. Slowly the image becomes clear. It's a mansion with tight security where there are dozens of people holding a firearm on each of them.

Upon seeing those armed men, Ramona starts trembling a bit. She could feel the fear start to creep in her heart bit by bit. Making her hand slightly cold, starting from her fingertips.

"Park the truck and unload the goods." The man said again before he then opens the truck door. He spoke in a foreign language to a few of the men in black suits before they started looking at her inside the truck.

After a few moments, the man signaling her with his hands to unload the good from the truck.

Ramona slowly opens the door and walks to the back of the truck. She really hates to be ordered around. 'Just wait until I get back, I'll find headhunter to hunt you, pig!'

"Oh, my! How rare of you bringing a beautiful lady in here?" A middle-aged man around his late thirties walks to the porch upon seeing the big build man standing there delivering his goods right on time.

"Juan, how are you, man?" he greets the man wearing a beige jacket and offering him a box coated with gold, containing cigar inside it.

Took one cigar, he smiles while glancing at the girl who unloaded the goods from the truck with a few of his men. "Your girl?" he asked.

The big guy laughed. "Nah..just do a favor from a friend of mine. She just a pawn. Heard she's from high-class society."

Juan lift up his eyebrow. Interested in the girl's story. He then skims through her body before he's whistling. "Not bad."

"Heh." The guy scoffed, but not long after, they heard a commotion coming from the guy who is checking the goods.

"Hmm…did you cross me, hermano1?" Juan smirk and stride to the place where the commotion started.

The big guy from earlier start to pale. He didn't do anything to cross this big shot cartel boss. But what's with this big commotion? He also strides to the group of people.

Ramona, who's standing there, already falls on her knees. Shocked. Feeling betrayed when they opened the box and found it filled with the sand instead of the drugs. She could hear her heart is starting to thumping irregularly.

A guy with a firearm hanging on his shoulder yank Ramona's hair roughly, makes her winching in pain.

"Where did you hide it?! Talk!!"

"I..I don't know." Ramona stuttering. Her eyes wildly look at the group of those guys. Trying to find that big guy from earlier.

"Hey! Hey!…don't hurt her." Juan walks to her and signals his men to release her. He slowly squatted down and lift up Ramona's chin.

"Now, darling..you should tell us the truth. Where are the goods?" he asked.

Ramona tremblingly shakes her head. "I..I don't.."

"Shh!!" Juan pinches her jaws, and Ramona jolts her body. 'It's hurt!'

"Think again, darling…or…you'll lose your life here. You don't want me to kill you, right? You had a nice body and a beautiful face. It's a shame if I had to kill you, you know?" he tilts his head a little, lowered his eyes to her neckline, and down to her chest.

"Hmm….you have such nice skin. If I sold these skin of yours, It'd have a high price, you see. Ah! Maybe your whole body had a high price since I heard you're from high-class society. Probably your daddy can pay for the damage you've caused tonight?" he smirks before he starts laughing.

Ramona shakes her head. "No! Don't! Please...I really don't know where they hid the drug. I swear! I only drive the truck here."

"Tch! Tch! Tch! don't cry…don't cry..let me warm you up." He then grabs her hand and forcefully pulls her up back on her feet.

Before he went back to the house, he whispers to one of his men, which also can be heard by Ramona.

"Kill him. Ah! But it'll be better if we can scoop out his organ."

Ramona gasps, hearing the last sentence he said. Her tears went down like a waterfall. Her body starts trembling like she would die any moment from now. "N..no..."

Bang!

A loud sound of gun shooting almost makes Ramona's faint because of fear. In a few seconds, she could see a group of men wearing a bulletproof vest holding firearm, which is she familiar start to swarming the area.

She took this opportunity to run from Juan's grasp. But only for a second before Juan grabs her hair and pulls her to be his body shield.

"Argh!!" Ramona screams as she feels extreme pain on her scalp.

"Shut the f.u.c.k up, or I'll shoot you!" Juan is poking his gun nuzzle on her side stomach.

Not having any choice, Ramona bit her lips and held her voice from coming out. She's then been dragged to the back of the mansion. There's a garage with a car inside it, Ramona was shoved to the inside of Juan's car.

The moment he wanted to start the engine, they were surrounded by the elite squad, pointing their gun to the car, leaving Juan with no escape route.

Somehow, Ramona feels relief inside her heart. When the police cuffed Juan's hand, she smirks a bit but, not too long before she also got handcuffed by the police.

"Wait, wait! I'm a victim here," she said to the female police wearing a bulletproof vest.

"No, you're not." The lady said, without looking at her.

"No, you wrong, I really am a victim..I.."

"If so, then explain it at the police station miss. We only do our job here."

Ramona sighs before she was brought to the station. All of her explanation has been recorded, and until her family can confirm her identity and status, she needs to stay locked up in here.

Now everything gets into a mess when all the reporters start swarming the police station once they heard about someone from a high society getting caught doing an illegal transaction. On top of that, dealing with a big cartel boss.

At the same time, New York.

"Alright, I'm done." Dania crawls back from the ventilating duct and get down to get dressed again.

"O~kay..let's head back. My husband seems like he ready to murder someone if we're late." Luna said with slow chuckles. Well, it's really amusing to see how anxious he looks like.

"By the way, Luna..I've been curious as to why you agree to be with him again? I mean.."

"I know what you meant, Dania.." Luna smile looking at Dania through the mirror in the bathroom.

"But, he's different now. And all along these years...I think I really love him to the point of no turning back. I was a coward to not stay by his side before, and now...I really regret it. I wish I could reverse those five years that I lost."

"Hmm.." Dania is still frowning. "I guess I really don't understand the meaning of your 'love.'"

Rose went to Luna and rubs on her back gently. "I know how you feel, Luna. I wish you can finally end this soon."

Luna smile and hugs Rose a little before she looks back at Dania, who already done wearing her dress.

"Alright, shall we go?" Dania fixes her bang a little before the three of them walk out of the restroom.
