Chapter 163 - What You Do Is What You Get?

Sabrina stayed at Luna's mansion while Liam returns back to Texas and Victoria going back to the bunker. She was supposed to help Luna regain back her joyful and cheerful days like before.

When she was helping her in the greenhouse, someone ring the doorbell and Mr. Carson went to open the front door.

"Good evening sir, is this Ms. Luna Robert's house?" One police officer takes off his hat and looks at the man who opens the door with a professional smile.

"Yes, please come in. I will notify Lady Luna." Mr. Carson said politely and open the door widely to let the police officer enter the house and wait at the living hall while he went to find Luna in her greenhouse.

After a few minutes, the housemaid serves the police officer a cup of tea before they went back to the kitchen, leaving Luna, Sabrina and Mr. Carson standing at the corner of the hall.

The police officer looks at the girl who he believes is Luna which has a beautiful face despite there's a little trace of dark circle under her eyes, her hair is a bit messy but, she still looks beautiful.

"So, miss Luna..we already arrested the arson suspect of your family house and he will be put on trial before we send him to prison, however, while conducting the investigation, he claims to be the son of a hit and run case a few years ago which he said that your father was the one who did it." He stated and look at Luna's surprised expression.

Luna covers her mouth with her palm. Her heartbeat quickens and it feels hard to breathe somehow. "M-my father did what?"

The police officer hangs his head down for and says, "We've been looking into this case and found that there's a man 18 years ago which was found by a truck driver in a secluded area. He was run over and there are blood trails on the road which look like the car who hit him did not stop at that time." He stops his sentence and peeks at the girl's face. Luna starts teary a bit.

"But his autopsy report came and that man already dead before he happens to be hit by the car because of the heart failure and TV station, radio station and a few others media has been searching for the hit suspect to help the investigation for almost two years and nobody came up to make a report and the case closed without knowing to what really happened to the deceased." He pressed his lips together.

Luna nibbles her thumb fingernails and trembling a bit. "If what the suspect said is true that um, your father was the one who hit his father, I think the trial will take longer and you need to give your statement or anything that you might remember for the judge to make their decision." The police officer added.

"When will the trial begin?" Luna asked. This is too much information for her.

"In the next two weeks. I will notify you if there's a changing date or anything. But for the time being, you were banned from leaving this country until the case is done."

Luna nod her head understood. She smiles faintly to the officer when he suddenly standing up and ready to leave the mansion. She sent the police to the door and she suddenly thought of something.

"Um, officer.." She said to which makes the police officer abruptly stop his step and turn around to look at her with a questioning face.

"Can I..can I talk with the suspect?" She asked. She wants to know how did he know about what her father has done? If no one were able to know what her father did, then how did he know? Why now after 18 years passed?

"Sure, but notify me first so that I can arrange it for you." He smiles at her and handed her his phone number before he gets inside his police car.

Once the police were gone, Sabrina stroke her back. "It'll be fine. Don't worry. Everything will be fine." Luna turns around and hugs her. Hoping that everything will be alright.

Two days have passed and today Luna got permission to see the suspect. She notifies the police officer from the last time and he was quick to aid her. Maybe he just wants to impress her.

When she walked inside the police station, she could see all the eyes landed on her. Like a chilly breeze just hit her and she awkwardly standing there looking for the police officer named Dominic. He's a nice guy.

"Luna..you're on time. Come on, I show you the room." Dominic walks over to her and she could see a lot of jealousy eyes eyeing them until they reach the corridor leading to another side of the building.

She looks at the man and asks, "Why they look at me like that?" smiling, Dominic said. "Maybe because you're too beautiful. Are you sure you grow up here? Because I never see you before."

Luna nods her head. "I was born and raised here, officer. You never saw me before maybe because I'm a good girl?" She tries to smile and reply to him casually.

"I bet you are." Dominic opens the door for Luna. There are a table and a chair in front of the glass that separates them, however, she still can see the man sitting at the other opposite of her. Looking so sharp at her like he wants to kill her right now.

She gulped and look at the man behind her. Gripping on her handbag strap. "I'll be right here. Don't worry." Dominic said as he points out his hand at the door.

Luna slightly nods and sits on the chair in front of the table. Ready to face the man, while Dominic crossing his arm around his broad chest and stand at the corner of the room.

Luna saw the man smile eerily to her and she frowned a bit. "Wh-"

"I know you. You're the daughter of the murderer. Why are you here?" He interjects her and asked her first.

"I-I want to know, how did you know it was my father? Don't you think, you're probably mis-"

"Mistaken?" He lifts up his one eyebrow and stares at Luna intensely before he silently laughs. "No..I'm not mistaken. Do you know, my dad was supposed to go home and celebrate my birthday that night, but your dad! Your dad rob that precious time of mine! You fucking bitch!"

Luna flinched. She gulped and trembling a bit. "But…how do you know it was my father? It happens so years ago.." She tries to not sound like she was breaking inside.

He smirked at her. Gesturing her to lean closer to the glass as he was about to whisper something to her. Luna was hesitant at first but because of the curiosity, she slowly leans her ear to the glass.

Whispering, the man said. "Ever heard Wayne, baby doll?"

Luna's eye's wide open and he turns to look the man who already grinning. "It was him..the cold man, and he said..you are not cooperating with them. As the payment..you know.." He leans back and put both of his hand behind his head. Stretch his body back and laugh like a maniac.

"You happy now? Murdering other people's family and you happy now being end up in here?" Luna scrunches her eyebrow seeing how happy he laughs inside there.

Looking at the girl back, he put both of his arms on the table and focusing on her face. "Why not? I only rob what's yours." He sucks his teeth and says again, "You see, I only collect your father's debt to me. Do you ever heard the phrase, 'What you do is what you get?' Ah~ simple word is, karma isn't it?" He smirks at her.

Luna clenches her fist and hastily stands up, ready to leave the room.

"Baby doll~," The man said again when Luna was about to go. "Don't be too happy out there because I'm not going to stay long in here, you know." He laughs to which Luna leaves the room not wanting to hear any more bullshit he spurts.
