Chapter 134 - Is This an Invitation?

They returned to the cabin house after spending half-day hiking at the stony man mountain summit. Raymond took shower while Luna went to the small river at the side of the house.

She happily plays with the shallow river which only reaches her ankle. There's also a lot of river stone there which she finds it beautiful. The swarm of small fish happily swim around her ankles.

When Raymond's done with showering, he went to open the sliding door at the living hall and stand there at the patio. Looking at the girl who happily plays with the water.

"Luna…" Raymond calls her from the cabin patio.

Turning to the man, she smiles widely. "Raymond…there's a lot of fish! Can we eat them?"

Raymond scrunches his eyebrow. "It's a small fish. You won't get full eating them."

Immediately Luna's wide smile turns into sour. "Ugh..such a bummer." She murmurs and walks back to the cabin.

While Raymond keeps mockingly smile at her. "I have something that I wanna you to do." He said when she approaching him.

"What is it?" She looks at the man with a questioning look.

"Oh~ you gonna like it. Follow me." He leads her to the backyard.

Luna looks around the woods. Still feels uncomfortable since it almost dark now. Even though it's now just 3 p.m.

Giving the ax to her, he then averts his eyes to the bunch of wood at the sides of the wooden trunk. "There. Cut the firewood."

Luna's mouth gape and she turn to look at the man. "Whoa! That's a man's job." Luna disagrees with him. This is totally the bullying act.

"Well," Raymond scratch his head a little. "I need to collect more firewood. Or, do you want to switch it with me? I don't mind though."

Hearing the word of collecting the firewood in the woods makes her immediately shake her head. "No, no..I'll do it. You..hurry up and return before dark."

Raymond chuckles and pats on her head. "Okay. I'll be back in no time." He then went back inside the house and took the Jeep key before he went to the valley foot. Leaving Luna at the backyard without knowing it that he just trick her.

It actually can be bought at the farmhouse, which he knows the owner. No need to trouble himself to go into the woods. Luna was totally manipulated by his word.

He also finds a few barbeque preparation for both of them tonight. He thought of doing a barbeque at the lawn tonight while looking at the stars.

….

Raymond returns back at 5 p.m. When he opens the door, Luna already pouted. "You lie to me," she said bitterly.

Holding back his laugh, he went to the kitchen with a bag on his hand. "I didn't. You're the one who misinterprets it." He shrugged his shoulder and take out a few marinated beef and marinated chicken wing from the wrapped styrofoam tray.

When Luna saw the things that Raymond bought, she frowned and look up at the man. "Why you bought that?"

"For barbeque tonight." He smiles and leaves the kitchen after that. Luna just looks at his action from taking out a barbeque griller to the setting seat for them. A bit impressed by how he can manage to do all this without any help.

She thought that he was a spoiled rich brat who knows nothing, but she was wrong. Even sometimes he did act like a spoiled rich brat and act almighty toward the servants.

He set a fireplace at the center of the lawn and after he's done, he went back inside and ask Luna to help him bring out the marinated food to grill, while he takes the drink and glasses.

Luna did as he asked and grilled the food. The sound of river water flowing melodically, the sound of woods rustling blowing by the wind, the sound of fire crackle at the lawn, really peaceful and she very much like this setup.

It's kinda romantic in its own way. A quiet night with only the sound of nature. The fear she felt last night is no longer exists now.

"Luna, look..that's you." Raymond points his finger on the night sky. They were already done the grilling part and now they enjoy the food and drink.

Squinted, Luna looks up and tries to find 'her' on the night sky. "Uh…I don't see me there."

Chuckles, Raymond drinks his canned beer. "I mean..the moon. It's you. You always light up at night and dark sky patiently. Even though sometimes you hide and didn't appear, you still there."

Luna averts her eyes to the man. What he's saying somehow feels deeper and it struck her fragile heart.

"So, if I ever get lost someday...I think I'd be still looking up at you. You will still lit up the world and you will still be there. You'll be my home whichever way I went then."

Luna scrunches her eyebrow. Somehow, she doesn't like the way he talked. Like he planned on leaving her someday. "Then, I don't want to be a moon at all."

"Why?" Raymond shifts his eyes to her.

"I don't want to be something that you'll only look at. I want to be touch, to be loved and to be felt by you. Not something you'll only look and do nothing. I'm not a saint, I'm not a moon. I'm a human being, I'm a woman with desire too."

Raymond silent for a minute. His face looks mix with emotions and he slowly asked, "Is this…an invitation?"

Luna intensely looks at him. "It depends on how you interpret it."

Raymond opens his mouth for a moment before he asked again. "Do you…love me, Luna?"

Luna gulped and blushed. Well, it was so straightforward and what if he rejects her? She'll only embarrass herself then. But, if she did not convey her feeling to him…until when will he realize it?

Luna nods. "I love all of you." She chooses the safest answer.

Raymond put down his canned beer and shuffle to her side. Closed the gap between them.

He slowly touched her neck and draw it closer to him. Angling his face and whisper to her, "So, it's an invitation then."

Just after he said it he brushes his lips on hers and softly kissing her before it turned into a passionate kiss between them.
