Chapter 71 - I Wish You'll Never Recover

Raymond stares at the menu card with an intense look on his face. Not knowing what to order. This place is quite new to him because this is the first time he comes here in the daytime. Seeing the town people besides the people who work in his mansion.

Seeing that look on his face, Luna pinches her forehead with her fingers and sighs a bit before she turns her head to the waitress who patiently waits for his order at the end of the table.

"Um, excuse me, could you give him a special set of pancake and orange juice. As for me, I'll just have a regular set, please." Luna said to the middle-aged woman who is generous with a smile since she entering the restaurant.

She is a regular customer in this restaurant since she was a kid. Her family used to bring her here every weekend or when her mother doesn't feel like cooking that day. The person name Rose smiles brightly to her, "Sure dear. Anything else?"

"Uh…" Luna squinted her eyes a bit like she was thinking of something. "Put a lot of maple syrup on the pancake and his juice need to be freshly squeezed. I'm sorry aunty Rose, this man is quite picky about his meals."

Rose glance over the man which she thinks is very much handsome and like Luna stated before, he does look like a picky eater. Probably he's the type of arrogant, rich young man who born in a silver spoon. 'Why a man like him be with a soft and docile girl like Luna?'

"Sure, honey." She turns to look at Luna and write the additional order on the paper before she took the menu on the table and went back to the counter. Place the order to the kitchen crew and wipe the front countertop while looking at the outside. 'Huh? He even had a chauffeur.'

Once the waitress is gone, "Who's the picky eater? I didn't say anything, aren't I?" Raymond said, looking at the girl in front of him while leaning his back on the seat and fold both of his arms.

She rolled her eyes, "If I wait until you finish deciding your order, I might turn into an old lady. Anyway, you like sweet things, don't you?" Luna casually said and look at the outside of the dining window. Luckily today's not too many people inside the restaurant. Old folks around here wouldn't notice the young man's identity in front of her right now. The heavy rain from last night affecting today's wheater which is a bit damp and cold.

She was lucky Mr. Carson brings them a thick fur material coat. As for Luna, he brings her a turtle neck clothes and jeans, at least she can hide the love mark that Ray put on her skin last night.

When they leave the motel before, the girl in the counter is still working and she only squinted her eyes to Luna after the check out made by Mr. Carson. She knows, maybe in that girl's mind that she was lucky, but the thing is, she wasn't that lucky actually.

When Luna inviting Mr. Carson to join them having breakfast, she got a glare from Raymond and Mr. Carson politely reject her idea and let them two having breakfast while he waits in the car. ' Ah, this man is so particular about ethics and lifestyle as a plutocrat. I can't hope him to be a generous young man just because he's a little 'nice' lately.'

"Don't go and decide everything for me. You're not my wife." He warned her again. Reminding her that he never agrees to marry her in the first place.

"Yeah, I know. But in a paper, I am your lawful wife, regardless of how many times you want to object this marriage, you're too late Mr. Raymond." She smirked.

"And living with you for the past few months, I must say, it's quite adventurous for me. It's like taming a wild horse. I…have wonted with your rude way of speaking with me. Your threat won't work on me now. So, why not we make a deal to live peacefully from now on?" She averts her eyes when Rose brings them their breakfast.

Looking at the waffle, she starts to feel hungry. She immediately picks up the cutlery beside the plate.

"What do you mean? What's your plan." Raymond also looks at his pancake with a lot of syrup. Just like the way he likes it. That's the other reason he didn't like about her.

She can read him like an open book about his preference. Something that even Sarah doesn't even know. Even they have been going out for 8 fucking long years. A very long relationship but it was very very fragile like a thin layer of ice which can easily break.

"I mean.." Luna stops chewing and pointing her fork to him. "Accept the reality, move on."

Raymond squinted his eyes. Not saying anything. More like he refuse the idea. He still loves Sarah and its hard for him to move on just like that. 8 fucking years being in a relationship, patiently waiting for her it not a joke for him. How can he even move on with a girl he only knew for a few months? Not only that, he only encounters her less than a week. There's no love at all. He can accept her as a 'distance friend' , but not more than that.

"I heard about your love story. I know its hard. But you..you don't have to push yourself to the limit. If she really cares about you, she would've visited you from the first day you being warded, right? We're not in a primitive era where she can give you a reason that 'she doesn't know'. If…lets say..if you recovered one day, and you still love her by then..let's..decide to what we agreed before. Okay? So, for the time being, why not you try to move on and accept the fact of your real life. It wouldn't hurt you to try."

Raymond drinks his juice and continuing to eat his breakfast afterward. What she said is true. About why Sarah still not visiting him, not even replied to one of his texts and calls. He knew he was wrong that day when he put all blame on her, but he never thought it would result like this. Is he really not important to her?

Why every time this girl in front of him speak up, it always struck him and make him look at from the other point of view? She's like trying a bit by bit crumbling his wall that he put around him. She digs and digs to make her able to read him like an open book. Seriously, he hates it. But even so..deep deep down, he feels a little bit appreciation because, at the very least, someone knew his preference. Someone who truly sees him as a human being. Not perfect as what other saws him.

Its been long since he was appreciated by someone. Before, it always him who needs to satisfied people and appreciate someone. That habit slowly eating him inside and change him into a cold-hearted person. The surrounding makes him live like that. Life is a race. You have to win to earn someone's affection and attention. If you lose, you'll be forgotten. You'll be the talk of other people and labeled as a loser for the rest of your life. That's life definition for him. You have to win.

He glances at her for a moment, "You're not upset if one day I decide to divorce you and choose the girl I always love? You have two other people who you love inside me and you give them up. Are you sure?" He doesn't know why he asked her that question, maybe it's just his curiosity.

Luna smile. "If that's…makes you happy. Why would I wanna be an obstacle for your love story?"

He averts his eyes back to the pancake. "Hmm, I wonder." He murmurs slowly.

"I may love the other two-person inside your body, but I won't neglect the third too. I might lie if I say that I won't be upset. Hell, I'll upset like crazy and probably getting depressed about it too. But the point is…you recovered. You will live and grow old with the person you love, and that person is probably..hold on, no..highly is not me, am I right?" Luna squinted her eyes before she forked another chunk of waffle into her mouth.

"Glad you know your place," Raymond reply it short.

"I knew it!" She chuckles and then she muttered inside her heart. 'I wish you'll never recover so that I can love all of you.'

Present-day.

"Luna?" Brian touch her shoulder when the announcement finished.

"Ah, yeah?" She's a bit startled before she looked up at the man beside her.

"Are you okay?" Brian asked when he noticed Luna was spacing out.

"Um, yeah, yeah." She smiles and turns to look around her. People are starting to line up and she then accidentally locks her eyes with a man who staring at her for a moment before she averts her eyes back to the kids. Her heart couldn't stop pounding as she used to whenever she looked at him into his eyes.

"Let's go." Brian taps on her shoulder and helps with the kids after that. Like a reliable and responsible father, he picks up the kids' luggage and helps them to line up.

Protect them so they're not squished in the middle by other people.
