Chapter 46 - Are They Mine?

"Hah! That was fun!" Sam wipes his sweat on his forehead. It's a bit hot today.

"Hey, wanna drink?" fanning his face, he turns to look at Luna. Offering to buy the drink so that both of them can have time to be alone.

"Yeah. Coke." Luna replies it short. She also a bit sweating after five rides.

"What about you, mister Ray?" Sam looked at the guy and smile meaningly at him.

"Same as her."

Sam bobbed his head and say, "Okay, wait for me here."

Once Sam is gone, Raymond took out his handkerchief and handed it to Luna. "Here."

Startled, Luna looked at the man. "Uh...no, thanks."

"Take it, you're sweating, and your makeup gonna ruin because of it."

'Ah! That's right. If my makeup ruins, you'll see my face and if you suddenly remember who am I, I'll be in trouble. And that..is something which I really don't want to happen right now.'

She took the handkerchief and daps on her face gently. "Thanks." the scent from the handkerchief make her once again start to reminiscing the past.

Shake her head, she tries to not remember anything from the past. She handed it back the handkerchief to him.

"No, take it. I have another in my suitcase." He shoves her hand back with such a gentle move. Luna scrunches her eyebrow and nods her head.

"I'll give it back to you tomorrow then."

Raymond did not say anything afterward as he keeps staring at her. He was not sure if this girl is the same as Luna he knows years ago, his memory of her still blurry, but his guts tell him that she's the one he's looking for.

"Is there something on my face?" Luna asked when she feels a bit uncomfortable with his staring.

"No."

"I see." Luna look at her watch. Its been a while since Sam's gone buying their drink.

"Ms. Luna, can I ask you a question?" Raymond saw her antsy face.

"Hm?"

"Where are you from?"

Luna paused a moment before she replying him. "Seattle."

Lie. She's not from there. She's from South Carolina, the place where she grows up and also where..her family's been murdered by him.

She had no one left, so it's easy for her to run away without someone holding her back. But, it'd be a lie if she said that she doesn't miss her family at all. They all die because of her.

Because she marries this guy, who doesn't even remember how his wife's face looked like. She already cut ties with Wayne family for temporary until the right day comes, she will overturn the table.

Do not expect her to not hold a grudge to what the Wayne family did to her. Everything was in order. By the time when she successfully got what she wants, she will crumble all the Wayne's who've hurt her before. Including a certain someone from Rochester too.

It just not the right time yet for Raymond to learn her identity right now.

"Hmm..so, are you single, Ms. Luna?" He didn't show any shocked expression after he heard the lie she just said. He didn't suspect her on the outer face but did on the inside. He doesn't believe she was from Seattle.

Luna thinks for an answer for a moment. If she tells him she's single, he will try to be close to her and if not…well, true, she's not single anymore.

"No, I'm taken. Sorry.." She smiles at him.

Somehow, that smile irked Raymond a bit.

"Hm, I see.."

"Ah! Sorry, the line was a bit long, so it took a while." Sam huffing while giving the coke to both of them.

They then continue to the next rides until evening.

Raymond buys a tumbler as a souvenir. He plans to put it in his office as a decoration. He has this habit to collect tumbler since he was kids. He had a giant rack full of tumbler back in the main Wayne mansion.

When he went to the counter, he accidentally heard the conversation between Luna and Sam.

"What do you think?" Luna shows the new design t-shirt she picks for Alex and Lily to Sam.

"Hmm…How old again your kid is?" Sam scratched his head a little.

"Four." Luna grinning, proud of her child.

"Both of them are four? Eh, are they twin?" Sam once again got confused. He did meet two children with Luna last time, but he thought they were different in age.

"Yup. My kids are four years old. But, sometimes I feel like they act like a teenager. Hurry, what do you think about this choice?"

"Er…I think the girl should be more interested in pink, right? She's a girl. The girl usually likes pink. And for the boy, umm…I prefer black. Black is always a color for a cool guy. Like me." He raises his eyebrow.

Rolled her eyes, Luna grunt a bit. "Why does a girl always like a pink color? I'm a girl too, but I don't like pink." She mumbles while putting back the t-shirt with a blue color.

"Eh..then your childhood must be sad, huh? Every girl likes pink. Like my little princess." He smiles.

"Hmm.." She changes it with the pink color and black color tee. Just when she wants to move to the counter, she notices Raymond already done paying the present he buys.

'He must be buying a gift for Sarah.'

Little that she know, while waiting for them at the outside of the shop, Raymond had a complex whirring of emotion inside his head. Too much information for today.

'She had kids? And they were four years old? Are they mine? The times frame fit when she runs away from me. Is it...from after that night?'
