Chapter 36 - Lost His Memory And His Sanity

New York City,

A young handsome man arrives at the Eleven Madison Park high-end restaurant. He reserves a table a few days earlier because this place is filled to capacity on weekend and always fully booked even on weekdays too.

Lucky he got a nice reservation spot for today. The waiter leads him to the table and offers him a glass of water while waiting for his partner. A few ladies from another table keep peeking at his way, indulging his handsome face which looks just like a prince charming who comes out from a fairy tales book.

He ignores all the eyes looking at him. It is a common situation for him since he was a teenager. The girls often lingering around him and they just want to have fun with him, proudly showing him off with their girls' friend like he's some kind of trophy. The one who did not see him as a trophy is his beloved girlfriend, Sabrina. It was he who chasing her and not the other way around.

Bzzz...

He smiled when his darling calls him. Without waiting for a second ring, he picks it up the phone.

"Yes, my love?"

" Hey babe..did you arrive yet at the restaurant?" She basically just wanted to check on him. He often got lost whenever he returns to the city.

"Yeah, safe and sound, my love."

"What's with you? Saying 'my love' repeatedly?" She lifting her eyebrows even though he could not see it.

"Nothing. Just because I feel like it"

"Hm, just don't drink too much okay? We have an important meeting tomorrow." She reminding him. He can't stand too much alcohol as he's a light drinker.

"Alright, my love. See you tonight."

"Stop with the nickname, babe. See you later, I love you..da~." She ended the call while smiling looking at the screen.

Chuckle, he put his phone back to his pocket and that's when he noticed his grandmother already arrived at the entrance and striding to the table led by the waiter. He stands up as in a polite way of greeting his grandmother.

"Grandma." He embraces her and kiss her lightly on the cheek.

"Liam, I missed you." She smiled happily while patting softly on his back. It's been years since last she saw him. He has grown up as a handsome man now. Just like his little brother, except he is much oriented, collected and humble as always.

"Please, have a seat." He pulls the chair and helps his grandmother to sit down like a true gentleman.

The waiter comes and takes order for them and a few minutes later, they bring out the best wine in their restaurant to serving them. And later, the main course starts to fill up the table with delicious food.

Victoria keeps the conversation with safe topics without touching anything about the company. It's not the right time to push him about the decision she has made for the sake of Wayne Corp.

"Are you in contact with your little brother, Liam?" She asked. She doesn't like to intrude into their problem, but it seems, Liam is not in any contact with Raymond after he finished high school. She did wonder why? Is it because of that witch?

Liam stops chewing when Victoria asked him that question. He did not contact his little brother for years now. He doesn't know what he's up to right now. All he knows is that he's in a long vacation. That's also the information that he gets from the latest news circulating around the business world.

"No, grandma. I'm quite busy these past few years. How is he by the way?" He just asked as a polite way to keep the conversation going on.

"Oh, you know..he got into an argument with Sarah one day and got into an accident after that. Later he woke up and he lost his memory and his sanity too..pft..now he's living in the small town far away from the city life." She said with a casual look on her face. She's doing that just for observing Liam reaction. And just like what she thought.

Liam flinched and nearly drop his fork upon hearing the news. Clearly, he looks worried and guilty rush over his mind. A few 'why's' question start to surge into his brain.

"Oh, you didn't know that?" Victoria makes a surprise face. "Sorry, I thought the news reached you already, hmm..I did ask my assistant to send an email about that." She tilted her head like she was thinking, but then she smiled and said "Nevermind that, he's alive. But he has turned 'special'. Sadly, his parents abandoned him once he turned 'special'. He's so pitiful, no family to care about him and no sibling that he can count on. But, don't worry. I already find him a good partner. Hope he can be re-shape again." Victoria chuckle.

Liam did not smile at all after receiving the news from his grandmother. He knows he was wrong when he discards the email he got from his grandmother the other day. He thought it was another proposal for him to return back to Wayne and he always rejected it. Who knows, turned out it was news about his little brother.

"Where did father send him?" He asked once he was able to collect his thoughts. Continue to eat the delicious dishes which already turned tasteless after hearing the news.

"Beaufort, SC. A nice place there and nice people too."

"I see."

"Oh, by the way, this Christmas...I plan on having a little vacation in that place. You wanna tag along? Your father and his wife will go on a skiing or another place other than that small town. Why don't you bring your girlfriend this time? I really want to meet her." She gives an idea.

"Grandma..I-"

"He doesn't remember you, Liam. He's a 'special' kid now."

Sighing, he slowly nodded his head. "I'll think about it."
