Chapter 319 319 - Breach

"Yue...Yue wake up.. YUE!! GET UP!!!" someone shook his body violently. Yue was tired and groggy from last night's activities. His knees were weak as heck and his back was aching so badly.

Groaning, he pushed his hand away. "Let me sleep..."

"GET UP. ZOMBIES ARE HERE!!!"

This woke him up instantly. Yue sat up stiffly. "w-what... what did you say?"

"I said zombies are here. Get up and get ready. We have to leave right now. Zi Chen! Go pack your stuff and go inform your grandparents now!"

Yue stumbled down the bed naked. His sore back and knees did not help at all.

"Shit." Fan lifted him up, massaging his knees. "can you run? Shit, shit... I'll carry you, just come on,"

"No, I can run," Yue took a hot minute to get on his feet and start running. He threw on his dirty clothes not minding the white stains on it. First thing they had to take was food. He saw Chen running around with a heavy bag dragging behind him.

Fan rushed to him and threw as many ramens inside. "Chen, to your grandparents now! Take coco with you,"

"Yes," the kid ran out the door. the huge pully ran after him in a very tense state.

"Wait is it okay sending them out now? How do you know zombies are here?" Yue picked up the things he had prepared the previous day. Thankfully, he had prepared a bag of the solar-powered stove and other solar-powered stuff in here. Guns and bullets were at Tian's place.

He hurriedly grabbed his sword.

The door banged open. "'I told grandma. They are asking what to do about peachy and willow,"

"Come on. Let's move first. Fan, how do you know?!" he picked his son up and ran to the neighboring house.

His mum and dad were by the door with a bag in hand.  "Yue, what about willow?"

"We'll come back for them. As of now leave the food stock here. Willow will protect the house and zombies won't bother going into an empty house,"

He watched Blackie run out of the house, followed by the white chicken and quails.

His mum hurriedly picked them up and threw them inside a duffel bag.

"Where's Trexa?!"

He pushed the door open fully. "Trexa, come out now!" A small grey figure rushed to him and climbed over his leg.

"let's move to Tian's place now!"

They ran.

"Fan... explain...how do you know about the zombies…."

"I sensed with my electric powers. The west wall is breached. There's a fucking hole, there and zombies are streaming in."

As they were running Yue kept an eye behind him. His parents were running a bit slow.

He slowed down and urged them to speed up. His father was the one who looked like he was struggling a lot.

"Is it your back?"

"I-I'm fine... I'm good,"

"No you're not. You're limping." Yue instantly lifted him up.

"No no! let me down! Yue!"

"Silence dad we have to make it to the barrack," Yue lifted him up like a baby and ran. His strength ability was really useful at this point and his animal morph kept him fast and agile as they ran.

His mum was surprisingly good at keeping up with them.

In about five minutes they reached Tian's place. Fan did the honors to knock and inform.

"Out! Zombies!" were the only words he uttered.

Tian, Juda, and Lui were out in a jiffy with a duffel bag. Tian was the one who was carryon three bags.

"You don't need that many bags!" Yue peered at him.

"No one knows how much we need,"

Together they all went to the barracks.

A warm hand gently caressed the back of his neck. Yue peered back to see a frowning Fan.

"I'll go ring the warning bells and have the food moved to the east side of the wall. we might have to leave the base if things get worse. High-profile ability users need to be accounted for. Juda, Jamie come with me. We need to start moving the food stocks,"

High-profile ability users. The ones with very valuable powers are very vital for the survival of the base. Space ability users like Juda Jamie were at the top of the list. His mum and his dad's powers were also high-profile users.

This system was made in case of emergencies just like this.

Few powerful ability users in each class were selected and sorted to be saved in priority.

"I'll come along," Tian tagged along.

"Me too," Yue stepped up.

"No, stay here with Chen. We have things to manage here. Help move Qian and Prisitsky to a secure location."

"Got it,"

Yue first made sure to drop off his parents at uncle Wen's study.

"Dad...." Zi Chen held his shirt tightly. "Don't leave..."

"Just a moment baby. I'll be back with uncle p and uncle Qian. Wait here with grandma okay. I'll be back for sure," he kissed his cheeks.

Removing his small hands from his shirt was the worst feeling in the world. It felt like he was abandoning him.

But this was all for the good.

They need to fight together if they had to survive as a base. Running away alone is not going to help. Escaping alone is not an option. If so, the zombie tide would take them out in a minute.

He ran down to the third basement floor to pick up Qian and Prisitsky. Peng Peng also needs to be picked up... his house was on the other direction so they didn't go there.

"Qian! Prisitsky!!" he knocked on both their lab doors. "Zombies are here!! come out! come out!!"

The doors opened. From Qian's room, Peng Peng came out with a disheveled look. "what?"

"Oh thank god you're here. Come on, call your lover out. he needs to prepare the things that are needed to be packed for leaving. We need to evacuate the facility."

"What!"

"Just do as I say!"

Prisitsky and harry were silent and they listened to his orders well. They all collected two bags full of stuff and came out.

Pr0psistly was carrying that familiar heavy white box. Hary picked it up for him.

"Where are we going?"

"To the east side of the wall. West of completely compromised. We need to fall back to defend our base."

Yue panted softly, running to Wen's study. The day he had feared was here...

It was right after his wedding day. He was tired and sleepless.

He was not in optimum shape.

'I hope we survive this...'
