Chapter 19 Another Chance

Name:Chaplain! Author:Firework
He was not angry at all!

No matter what choice Emilia made, he had no right to blame or stop her.

He only wanted to get custody of his daughter in order to make things right!

"I..."

Emilia wanted to say that she could do it as well!

However, she thought of the contract she had just signed. Then, she swallowed all of the words that were inside her mouth.

This was because she knew that she would never be able to return the hundred thousand dollars.

She could only….. fulfill the contract in order to save her daughter!

This matter was already cruel to her, and so, she screamed as she released her anger, "If you were able to man up just a little, why would I be in this state today?

"You keep thinking that you have done nothing wrong, but have you ever thought of me and Olivia?!

"You have been nothing but a coward!

"You are a useless man who doesn't deserve to stand here and fight me for Olivia's custody!"

Oliver Walker's return was something exciting for her.

But now, the beautiful dreams she had for the past eight years had all been broken!

She was a child abandoned by the gods. No one would be able to understand her. Even the man she loved most was using the cruelest words to tear up the deepest wounds in her heart!

As if these weren't enough, this man was trying to snatch Olivia's custody from her!

He was adding salt to her wounds!

"I can!"

Oliver Walker got on his feet. This time, he did not choose to back away from it. Instead, he was trying to hold onto this marriage. He didn't want to give up on it.

He stared at his wife with an affectionate look in his eyes!

At least…

At least before their divorce, Emilia was still his lawfully wedded wife!

He wanted to try one more time!

From all the clues that he had now as well as his understanding of his wife, it would be impossible that she would do such things. So, he was the one who made a mistake!

A huge mistake!

Emilia's body shivered. The tear stains on her face were still wet, and now, there was another set of tears rolling down her cheeks again.

She...had hopelessly fallen for this man once more.

Perhaps, it could be said that her love for him had never changed!

Oliver Walker stepped forward and placed both hands on her shoulder. He said in a hurried yet sincere tone, "Emilia, I...

"I'm sorry!"

Although he had been transferring money into the same account...

He was busy fighting on the frontlines, why would he have time to care about these details?

Why didn't he consider that they might be used by others and that he had been scammed for years?!

He always thought that he had borne the responsibility of being a husband, but little did he know, his carelessness almost cost his family.

This was entirely his fault!

"As long as you are willing to, I….I can promise you that for the rest of my life, I will give you and Olivia the best future possible!

"I will never let the both of you suffer any longer, even if it's the slightest!

He was being serious!

No one could really be heartless, especially after how he got the wrong intel and even misunderstood that Emilia had abandoned Olivia. He only knew about the truth yesterday.

Did he not regret it?

How would that even be possible?!

It hurt him so much that it felt like his heart was being sliced into pieces!

Emilia, who was already buried in tears, looked at the affectionate man in front of her. She was feeling so torn as if there was a storm inside her.

Her red lips were trembling. She wanted to say something, but it felt as if there was something stuck in her throat.

Oliver Walker stared at Emilia who seemed to be convinced, and he continued, "I know that you have suffered a lot more than others. As long as you tell me who they are, I will make them pay!"

He protected this country!

He made sure that they didn't lose even an inch of land!

But, his family ended up being in so much pain!

This was all his fault!

He was willing to give up everything in order to make up for all the shortcomings!

He badly wanted all those bastards, who had bullied his family, to be punished.
