Chapter 41 - 41. Collapse...

Qin ZiXuan didn't get a definite plan that could succeed even after a lot of simulations went through his mind so, he glared at the old man who was the reason for this while Qin Meilin rubbed her temples.

Qin Meilin knew that if she allowed Qin ZiXuan to even speak she will lose so, without letting him say anything in a flat voice she asked the old man to, "continue.."

Getting his green signal, the doctor as if injected by chicken blood, spoke without a care of the world, "I took his pulse just now. He appears to be alright but his body is not at it's best. I've asked him to take good care of his body but as you may already have suspected, he didn't take heed of my words. This case of infection is mainly due to his weakened immunity and the lack of rest to his body, it seems his sleep cycle is affected. Young Miss, I'll recommend you to keep him in a well-maintained diet so that he gets the proper nutrition", he said looking at her and then turned to the man, "Young Master this is the umpteenth time I'm saying this over the years, take good care of your health. Your body is not at it's best, to begin with... and if you keep doing this to yourself, you'll collapse one of these days. I won't be able to do anything for you then."

The old man not noticing the cold glare directed on him by the said man continued to nag him a bit more before he felt odd about something.

He snapped back to reality and finally saw that the air around him has turned cold.

His instincts told him to be wary of Qin ZiXuan.

He didn't dare to look at him and only took a glimpse of the only person, who he knew could save him from this situation, the young miss of the family, only to see that her face was unusually pale.

Qin ZiXuan has been on the edge for a while now because of that old man.

He knew his body like the back of his hand and knew that his body was not at its peak for some years now, well, it was weak, to begin with, but it weakened a bit more in the last few years when he was too involved in work and....she was not with him.

Anyway, even though it was like that still, it was not at the stage of collapsing.

After Meilin came back, he fell ill only once in these last few months and that meant that his condition had improved by a lot and he knew that all he needed was her to be beside him and he will be alright!

He kept glaring at the old man because he knew that Meilin won't take it as easy as him, she will definitely fret and might even lecture him, of course, he didn't hate it when she did that because that only showed the love and care she had for him; what he was scared of was that she will start blaming herself once again.

He didn't want that to happen.

He could accept a broken Meilin but he didn't like those dead eyes of her plus when she got angry, she was too scary.

She acted like a teacher and was used to scold him for at least 3 hours, this has happened quite a few times over their years together and believe him, it was definitely not among the best of the experiences. He won't survive it ba.

He noticed that the doctor finally stopped speaking only to turn into a statue after taking a glance at her.

He immediately stiffened as a possibility of what might have happened passed through his mind, he slowly turned his head to take a look at her; she looked pale, paler than ever.

His eyes dilated and he finally noticed that something went wrong, that he had made a mistake.

He instantly took hold of the hand he had just released once again and pulled her up from the seat.

"We'll be back in a moment. Have some of the refreshments till then", he spoke in an unusually colder voice than normal, as he tugged her forward with him and they went to her room.

Once they entered the room he closed the door with a soft BANG which finally brought the team out of their stupor.

They had noticed that something was wrong with the young miss but were too stupefied by the sudden action of the man to say or think about anything.

The old Doc acted his age; he calmly took a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice from the tray and leaned back to relax his nerves, whenever he faced that young man, it has always been like this.

The young doctor couldn't take it anymore and finally asked, though, in a whisper, "What's with CEO Qin? Why did he act like that?"

He was new, actually, they all were.

The Qins as stated earlier were involved in almost all industries which, of course, included the health industry.

Their hospitals had high-tech facilities and provided the rich with world-class sophistication and care. Well, not only for the rich but they also had some involvement in charity hospitals and donated millions of money into them to help the poor and the ones in need, it was started by the father of the current patriarch and has been continued to this level by the generations following him.

Each year the management in these hospitals both inside the country and abroad, made a point to train some exceptional students in the field, providing them with internship, scholarships and all kind of incentives.

They were taken under the wings of the masters in the field and are given first-hand experiences.

These people, though very few in numbers, grow up to be excellent in their field and were allowed to continue their work for the Qins themselves or, choose a different place as they see fit for themselves.

Qins provide for them and train them to be professionals and to be exceptional in the field because the people are in need of doctors who are not 'quacks', even if, in the end, they choose to work for someone.

The last chairman had a way with his words, "The money we have is for us to create a better future, both for our kins and also for the people we come across. We've secured a place in the riches and also in the hearts and brains of people and now it's time to take a place in their souls and the betterment of their lives. It's not because of some noble cause, it's only for a selfish desire of mine to have our names printed in their lives forever."

He may sound selfish but this so-called 'selfish' desire has actually led them to save millions of lives and take them under their care, if this is 'selfish' then we can never be them because we can never be this 'selfish'.

Ah! About those trainees choosing another place to work at, let's face it, who will leave this gold mountain for others, right?

Anyway, a selected few of these already selected few(?) are allowed to work for the family themselves as their private doctors, may it be for the main family or the branch ones.

These people go through an intense background check and sign contracts, the breach of which may result in more than a billion of penalty fees, still if you get in, the next half of your life or actually the life of your next few generations of kin is secured.
