Chapter 227 Cat Dad In Apocalypse Map

Chapter 227 – Cat Dad in Apocalypse Map

At noon

Xiaomao returned to his dungeon's treasure room. He stored the new items in his warehouse. Then, he put on the equipment that Ifrit had given him.

He removed the cursed claws, which had been with him since the beginning of the game. They were no longer needed as Xiaomao got the replacement.

Eight crimson bracers covered Xiaomao's eight tentacle legs. They automatically adjusted their sizes and fit into his physique. Xiaomao curled his tentacles and whipped them around, and they didn't hinder his movements.

SHA!

Eight burning blades extended from the bracers when Xiaomao straightened his tentacles. But when he curled them, the extended weapon receded to the bracers.

Xiaomao changed his posture. He bent one of his tentacles 90 degrees.

WHOOM

An energy round shield appeared in front of the bent tentacle.

After testing enough, Xiaomao was satisfied. He exited the treasure room and entered the portal, which had been opened after Xiaomao had teleported back to his dungeon.

Xiaomao got back to the guild lobby and found Lucky. As for the mermen and the boys, they were at their usual place - the water park.

"What's that, master?"

When Lucky noticed Xiaomao's arrival, she was surprised by his new look. He wore a strange red hoodie, which fit his big head and cat ears. It looked like winter headwear for pet cats in the modern world, which left enough space for his face and nose. In addition, the bracers looked so nice with his chubby tentacles.

"My new battle gear, munya!"

"Battle… gear?"

"I'll show what they can do in the next match, munya. As usual, I won't summon anybody unless it's necessary."

Lucky pouted, disappointed that she might not get to fight again.

Noticing that Lucky was dejected, Xiaomao opened one of the pouches and passed her two hundred spirit stones.

"Use those, munya. 100 for consumption, 100 for cultivation, munya."

"Eh, err…" Lucky hesitated, "Aren't these extremely rare, master? I thought we used all of them."

Xiaomao brought the spirit stone pouch and opened it to show her the content. About 10,000 spirit stones sat in there.

"W-Where did you get these?!"

"From a certain CHAD, munya!"

'Visit (No ve (l)B i n) to read, pls!',

Xiaomao grinned. He then called Andrew, Shepherd, Peter, James, and John over to the boss's room.

The boys rushed over, and Xiaomao gave them 200 spirit stones each.

"Boost your levels and your stats, munya! Eat 100 of those directly. Use the other half for cultivation, munya!"

Shepherd and the boys gazed at Xiaomao with moist eyes. They smacked their chests, saluting Xiaomao. Then, they took the stones and returned to their resting quarters right away.

Looking at the hardworking boys, Xiaomao was proud of them. He glanced at his game menu and looked at the clock.

It was 11.45 AM - 15 minutes left until the fourth round's voting for the next map.

'I have time. I should meditate and get ready.'

Xiaomao rested on a couch and closed his eyes, meditating.

.

12 PM, the vote was open once more.

Xiaomao ignored the instruction messages from the event world. He and his guild members voted on the same maps as the last time. Then, they waited for the result.

At 12.50, the result was out. The next chosen map was a weird choice - the urban map!

At 1 PM, Xiaomao was teleported to a strange headquarters. Instead of being sent to a medieval castle or a fortress, he ended up in a makeshift camp in the middle of a ruined metropolitan city. Battered roads and buildings seemed to be at least a thousand years old or so, judging from the overgrown trees and plants that latched on the structures.

Furthermore, there was no obelisk or defensive buildings around!

This was not a normal urban map. It was a post-apocalypse urban map!

.

Marcus was one of the top beta testers. Because of his status as the top beta tester and a follower of Pangu, he started with a legendary avatar.

His class was Gladiator, which excelled in physical combat. He could use any weapon, including ranged weaponry – Guns, crossbows, swords, axes, slings, hammers, he could use them all and bypass some of the weapon's restrictions.

After the incident in the Pangu Cultist Dungeon, Marcus requested aid from the game company, and he received help packages. They were legendary weapons, armor, and spirit stones.

Currently, the average level of Spartan Guild members was 250 while Marcus was 287, which was very difficult for legendary characters. He was confident that his passive skills and M.DEF were enough to withstand Xiaomao's insane firepower.

Marcus looked up and found that the countdown timer started. He had 10 seconds to prepare.

As per Pangu's instructions, Marcus entered the headquarters tent, grabbed a flag, left his camp, and entered the nearest apartment. He ran into a barricaded room and broke the obstacles. Inside was a stash of dried food, potted plants, and fresh vegetables.

DING

<You have discovered some supplies.>

The food vanished, and Marcus's guild obtained 200 SP. But the guild war hadn't even started yet!

DING

',

The countdown timer reached zero, and a firework exploded in the sky, signaling the start of the match.

Marcus ignored it. He rushed to the rooftop of the apartment and sprinted toward the nearest building. Then, he leaped over the gap and landed on the balcony of another apartment.

He didn't rest there. Marcus ran as if he was a parkour master, jumping and leaping over obstacles toward the other side of the building.

As Marcus kept running, he heard a whizzed sound of a sonic boom, followed by a loud explosion.

Marcus looked back. His headquarters camp was already bombarded!

However, the guild leader of Spartan sneered.

"You can't defeat me that easily, Xiaomao!"

.

.

Pan Mei and a blond girl sat on a long couch, watching and commenting on the match between the MUNYA Guild and Spartan Guild.

As soon as they noticed that Marcus rushed into a building and abandoned his camp, the female commentator, Lisa, was surprised. However, she maintained her composure and asked Pan Mei about the map.

"Mister Pan, since this is the first match of the fourth round, what do you think about this round's map theme? What is the Urban Map?"

Pan Mei proudly smiled, "Urban Map comes with five sub-theme – Residential City, High-Tech City, Developing City, Modern Capital City, and Post-Apocalypse City! Each type comes with a hundred variations of city layout. In this case, we get the post-apocalypse theme."

"I know that it's the post-apocalypse settings, but why do the players' bases look so different?"

"Hahaha. That's right. If you pay attention to each side, no guild starts with a defense tower."

"But how will they defend their bases from preemptive strikes? Won't they get bombarded by air units in the early game?"

"Well, they can, but…"

As they were commenting, the match began. Xiaomao rushed into his headquarters and brought out a flag. Then, he rode on a red broad sword and flew toward Spartan's camp at the speed of sound.

Xiaomao didn't bother stopping. He twirled his mage staff, and a huge fireball descended upon the Spartan Guild's camp like a homing missile.

BOOM

A massive shockwave of flame engulfed four buildings nearby and the entire camp. Everything was reduced to ash from the great heat and the shockwave. Black smoke rose up into a mushroom cloud, covering the dimmed sunlight.

However, the match hadn't ended yet.

Lisa noticed the strange rules. She got the gist of it.

"I see that the rules of this map are different. Mister Pan, could you elaborate on the rules to the viewers?"

"Of course," Pan Mei coughed and smiled at the camera, "For this map, the rules no longer restrict the participants to protect their base. As long as their designated guild leader is alive, the match continues!"
