Chapter 167 Cat Dad is Immortal

Chapter 167 – Cat Dad is Immortal

As soon as Mimir came out, the two strongest generals stopped messing around. Their expressions grimaced as they knew how serious the emperor was.

Yuan Hua was also taken aback when she saw Mimir.

Both Mimir and Yuan Hua were colleagues as they served Pangu together. In addition, their strength was similar – Yuan Hua’s level was 6,666 while Mimir’s was 6,500.

However, Xiaomao was afraid of one thing. As Mimir was an archbishop, his main strength was supporting spells and holy magic. On the other hand, Yuan Hua was a combat-oriented witch, who could use curses, black magic, and various offensive spells.

Mimir was at a disadvantage here.

Despite being an underdog, Mimir’s smiling expression and his demeanor were brimming with confidence. He strolled into the throne room and winked at Xiaomao.

“How did you come here, munya?! You said that you might get attacked here, but you show up here.”

Mimir snickered, “I have my own ways of doing things. As I said before, if I came here the NORMAL way, I would have caused a scene. But entering here through my connection and shortcut is a different thing.”

“…”

Mimir stopped and turned to the emperor. He lowered his head, “This old priest greets your majesty.”

“Mimir,” Yuan Shaoqing waved his hand and allowed Mimir to raise his head. “You told me that you can lift my sister’s curses and free her from Pangu’s grasp. Is that correct?”

Xiaomao widened his eyes and stared at Mimir. He figured out why Yuan Shaoqing said that he could remove Shepherd’s curses.

Mimir nodded, “Indeed. However, we need this little friend’s aid. Without him or his consent, I cannot remove anybody’s curses. After all, it was him who cleansed the curses on me.”

“And free Taotie, too?” Yuan Shaoqing narrowed his eyes.

Xiaomao bit his lower lips. He was afraid that Mimir might sell him out for his unknown motive.

Surprisingly, Mimir lied.

“No. Taotie tricked this little friend to feed him seafood. After he ate enough food, he broke the restraints and devoured everything, removing all curses in the process.”

“Huh?”

The ministers and officers in the throne room were confused. The intel from surviving eyewitnesses said that Mimir, Taotie, and Xiaomao colluded together and caused a scene last night. However, none of their testimony was credible as most of the priests and cultists in that church were perverted lunatics.

Hearing Mimir’s words, everybody doubted if he was telling the truth. However, Yuan Shaoqing smirked and looked at Yuan Hua. He continued to converse with Mimir while observing his sister’s reaction.

“Last night, what were you doing in that church?”

“I was investigating the church’s illegal activities and coordinated with Agent Cox in secret. I rushed to the garden when I heard Taotie’s noise and found him and little friend Xiaomao together.”

“Yes. The eyewitness said that you teleported to Taotie’s side and did something.”

The ministers nodded. The eyewitnesses from the church claimed that Mimir conversed with Xiaomao and Taotie, colluding with each other in the open.

Mimir laughed and looked at Xiaomao, “Indeed. I teleported to this little friend’s side to rescue him from the monster. However, Taotie unleashed his power and scared everybody.”

Mimir turned to Yuan Hua, “Your Highness. You fought with Taotie several times before. You know what kind of skills and spells he always used, right?”

Yuan Hua snorted, “Yeah. He always yelled NIHIL-this, NIHIL-that. Whenever he chanted, he grew stronger, and his wounds healed. Sometimes, he used illusion magic and caused hallucinations… AH!”

At that moment, Yuan Hua covered her mouth and glared at Mimir. She pulled out her cane and prepared to chant a spell.

Mimir grinned. He pointed his finger and fired a light beam at Yuan Hua’s cane, knocking it out of her hand. In the next second, a light barrier enveloped her, trapping the princess inside a transparent egg.

The archbishop looked at the people in the room.

“As she said, Taotie is a cunning fiend. He can create illusions and cause everybody nearby to hallucinate. That’s how he always trick his foes and prey. What the eyewitness last night saw was the hallucination that Taotie wanted us to see. He actually wants us to fight among ourselves here.”

“…”

The ministers and soldiers looked at each other and frowned. The explanation sounded plausible, but they were not stupid enough to understand the political war of words here.

Obviously, Mimir and Yuan Hua were not on friendly terms, and they were always at each other’s throats. In this case, Mimir cornered her first.

But no matter what these two and the emperor were doing or distracting them, none of the people here forgot that Xiaomao was still Pangu and Nian’s sworn enemy. Secondly, the emperor and Yuan Hua seemed to have different opinions regarding the church. And lastly, they were curious about the curses.

The two followers of Nian glared at Xiaomao and ground their teeth. They were the first to guess that Emperor Yuan Shaoqing had been directing the conversation in Xiaomao’s favor to give him credit. They foresaw that the emperor would then reduce Yuan Hua’s credibility next.

Yuan Shaoqing stood and walked toward Yuan Hua. He continued to chat with Mimir.

“And what happened after that?”

Mimir continued to make false reports, “Afterward, Taotie and I fought. He used his final form against me. I got caught off-guard, and I was injured.”

“But I don’t see any injury on you.”

“Of course. What am I? I’m a bishop, and I can healed myself. But that was after little friend Xiaomao and I escaped into the underground dungeon under the church.”

“Underground dungeon?” Yuan Shaoqing sneered at Yuan Hua and the people from the Pangu Faction.

Upon mentioning the underground dungeon, Bush Cox interjected, “Allow me to explain. My name is Bush Cox, and I’m the undercover agent, serving directly to his majesty the emperor.”

The political debate continued. Bush Cox explained his missions to expose crooked officials, Mazinger Drugs, and the sinister rituals in the dungeon. Then, he presented evidence and items that Xiaomao had given him.

The neutral crowd nodded as they finally understood what kind of game the emperor was playing – The emperor continued to discredit the church, convincing the retainers to stop worshiping Pangu and Nian.

After Bush Cox was done with his presentation, Mimir added, “Continue where I left off – This junior and I escaped through the underground dungeon of the church. We stumbled upon what you could call [The Ritual Site].”

Mimir brought out an orb, which created a hologram scene of the B5 level of the church dungeon. It was the altar room, where Xiaomao had discovered a pit of human corpses.

The hologram revealed countless rotten corpses under the magic circle platform in front of the altar.

Suddenly, Yuan Hua broke the restraint and bellowed.

“LIES! EVERYTHING IS ALL LIES! MEN, ARREST MIMIR, BUSH COX, AND XIAOMAO!”

Guo Tu and Xin Ping dashed toward Xiaomao right away. But at the same moment, Wen Chou and Yan Liang stepped out and blocked their path.

“GENERALS!”

Yuan Hua was enraged. These generals were supposed to be her servants, but they interfered with her order.

Yuan Shaoqing tilted his head from side to side. He also cracked his knuckles.

Then, the emperor slapped Yuan Hua.

PA!

0 Damage!

Although the slap didn’t cause damage, it still stunned Yuan Hua and everybody in the throne room.

“YUAN SHAOQING!”

Yuan Hua bellowed. A black magic circle appeared below her feet, and a dark aura exuded from her pore.

Mimir snickered and raised his cane. Then, a beacon of light shone upon Yuan Hua and washed away her manifesting black mana. The black magic circle let out a BZZ sound afterward.

The magic failed!

Yuan Shaoqing glanced at Xiaomao.

“Welp, I wanted to make it civil and classy, but my sister doesn’t fall for it. Enough with the political farce and let’s get this over with. Junior, I heard from Mimir that you can remove curses. Can you give me a hand and remove hers?”

Xiaomao finally understood what Yuan Shaoqing had been aiming for. He dashed toward Yuan Hua without bringing the entity crystal out, hiding his secret.

Yuan Hua glanced at Xiaomao. Her expression distorted in frustration while she threw a left kick at the incoming cat.

Although the simple kick seemed harmless, it came from the level-6666 boss. One hit was enough to decrease Xiaomao’s HP bar to zero.

That was what Yuan Hua believed.

BANG

Xiaomao couldn’t react to her speed. Yuan Hua’s left foot directly hit his face and sent him flying to the ceiling. Moreover, a large number appeared.

1,415,050 DAMAGE!

Yuan Hua smirked and looked at the number. She was certain that the cat should have died in one hit.

But the next moment, something inside her changed.

DING

<The Curse of Pangu has been removed.>

<You are no longer an Apostle of Pangu!>

<Some of your blessings, titles, skills, and spells have been removed.>

“WHAT?!”

Meanwhile, the tentacle cat jumped down from the ceiling and landed in the arms of Mimir.

Yuan Hua stared at Xiaomao’s HP bar in shock.

1 HP!

HOW?!

The cat’s HP was obviously lower than 100K!

The former archbishop giggled while his arms shone in bright light.

“You have many interesting life-saving artifacts, little friend.”

From 1 HP, Xiaomao recovered his health to the full. He let out a sigh of relief.

“I don’t want to do that again, munya.”

The cat rubbed his entity crystal, which he had used to shield against the kick. He also looked at his item description to appreciate one certain life-saving item.
