CH 75.1

After listening to his grandmother’s question, Fu Jinxiao just chuckled, which was a bit outrageous for the actor, “How could that be?”

The grandma said suspiciously, “You really didn’t bully him?”

Fu Jinxiao looked at grandma helplessly, raised his eyebrows noncommittally and said, “What do you mean, since when would I do something like that?” 

“…” She fell silent. 

It’s not that she deliberately thought of her grandson like that. It’s mainly because of Fu Jinxiao’s attitude, which sometimes could cross the line. 

“Why?” Fu Jinxiao is extremely smart, especially when it comes to observing words and expressions, “Did you meet him just now?”

The grandma was surprised by his insight, and said softly, “I met him when I was going out. The kid was carrying some food. I met him, I gave him a seal before, and he sent it back to me, saying that he didn’t think it was suitable for him to hold it.”

Fu Jinxiao raised his eyebrows.

Shen Xingsui was indeed too sensible sometimes.

But it does sound strange to send the seal back suddenly.

Fu Jinxiao thought of it for a while, then asked, “Did you give him the seal?”

She replied with a soft tone, “I did. Besides, it’s not such a precious thing that it can’t be given out.”

Fu Jinxiao really wanted to laugh, that seal counted as the Fu family’s signature. In an emergency, he could withdraw money from any bank under the name of the Fu family. The degree of freedom was extremely high. Only people in the family could have this seal. Of course, the meaning of giving him to Shen Xingsui was very obvious – the old lady completely regarded Shen Xingsui as a Fu family member.

He asked casually, “I think you’re too impatient, Grandma.” 

“That’s because you are the only one who is not in a hurry, right?” The old lady walked forward slowly, and said as she walked, “Let me tell you, don’t treat him as a child because he’s much younger than you. He’s already an adult. If you keep in a passive position, he would be snatched up by someone else. By then, it will be too late.”

Fu Jinxiao raised his eyebrows slightly.

Grandma turned around and looked at him meaningfully, “Don’t be careless, or you will regret it in the future.”

Fu Jinxiao stood where he was, his dark eyes darkened, thoughtful.

Downstairs.

At the back garden, Shen Xingsui sat next to Shen Xingchen, both watching the fireworks party not far away.

Shen Xingchen, the little hedgehog head, was quite popular. After a while, several girls entangled him. He himself was a vigorous boy, and his appearance and family background were very good, so he was extremely sought-after.

Shen Xingchen also played like a duck to water.

Though, he knew his limits. He knew these girls were here just for his connection, so he was only polite to them. Besides, he’s used to this kind of attention. 

Shen Xingsui looked at him helplessly, afraid that his older brother would play too hard. But after a while Shen Xingchen came back by himself, and looked at his younger brother and said, “Why have you been drinking?” 

Shen Xingsui shook his hand holding the wine glass. After a pause, he replied softly, “Because I think this wine is quite delicious.”

Shen Xingchen took a glass and said, “This wine has a low alcohol content, but you still can’t drink too much. You will get drunk easily.” 

Shen Xingsui nodded lightly, “Got it.”

As he said that, he drank another half a glass.

The night was beautiful today, with a bright moon hanging high in the sky, and the elegant and unique fragrance of flowers came from the back garden. It was also lively, people coming and going were laughing and having fun.

Shen Xingchen was worried about his brother’s low mood. “Don’t drink anymore. Mom will definitely beat me up if I let you get drunk.”

Shen Xingsui chuckled. “Okay, then.”

In fact, his alcohol tolerance was really bad. At this point, he already felt a little doozy, he’s probably already along the way of getting drunk. 

While the two of them were talking, there was some movement not far away. Someone came from a distance. It was Xu Enzhen, Li Na, President Fu, Fu Jinxiao, and Shen Minglang. Of course, these people attracted the guests’ attention. 

When President Fu saw Shen Xingsui, he smiled and said,  “Suisui has really grown up, and he is good-looking and talented.”

Shen Xingsui got up, bowed and shook hands with him, “Mr. Fu, hello.”

Xu Enzhen also smiled and praised back, “Jinxiao is the one who is capable and excellent. Our Suisui has been taken care of well by him. Compared to your family’s Jinxiao, there are still many things to improve and learn.” 

President Fu glanced at Fu Jinxiao, while Fu Jinxiao continued to look at Shen Xingsui.

The president said meaningfully, “I hope that he can use his ability like your Minglang, and take care of the family’s business instead. With that, I wound’t have any more worry.” 

The atmosphere suddenly became subtle.

Generally speaking, such sensitive matters were not suitable for discussion in such an open place. But the Fu family and the Shen family have a very close relationship, as close as blood-related families. They have known each other well for years, so this sensitive matters could be discussed in the open. 

Secondly, President Fu was also pissed off by Fu Jinxiao tonight. Although he also hoped that he could talk to his son again, Fu Jinxiao always refused to agree with his arrangement or reasoning. Here, it might be useful to let the Shen family to persuade him. 

Li Na also commented, “Minglang seems to have worked in a family business a long time ago?”

President Fu looked at Shen Minglang and said, “You are really young and promising.”

Xu Enzhen couldn’t laugh at such a compliment.

After all, they all knew that Fu Jinxiao had a bad relationship with his father, but they didn’t expect that President Fu was in a hurry today to make Fu Jinxiao inherit the family’s business. 

Shen Yong wanted them to calm down a bit, “We have always supported our children, and Minglang took his own initiative to enter the company back then.”

President Fu pretended not to understand the meaning of this sentence, and only continued, “That’s because Minglang is a sensible child. I really envy you guys. I was expecting this kid to come and help me after graduation. This kid has been smart since he was a child. I thought he could join the company to help me relieve some of the pressure. Unexpectedly, he actually went to showbiz instead.” 

Before others could  react to his words, Shen Xingsui surprised everyone by answering it in such a blunt manner. 

“But his career in showbiz is also very good and successful.”

Otherwise, Fu Jinxiao wouldn’t be his beacon and his idol. 

This time, thanks to his partial drunkenness, Shen Xingsui didn’t really have a speech filter. He was much more courageous and impulsive. He was running on pure reflex, because he heard his idol was being slandered. “If it’s his dream to enter this industry, why can’t he pursue his dream? Does he have to enter the company to be in the ‘correct’ life path? Does he have to follow the planned route to be sensible and promising at a young age?”

President Fu really didn’t expect this to happen. He didn’t know what to say. Not only Shen Xingsui – the boy he knew was very shy and quiet – spoke up, he was being quite loud too. 

Shen Xingsui said through his drunkenness, somehow his speech was still clear despite his situation, “He is your son, isn’t he? He’s not your employee, you can’t just… order him around. You need to have a good heart-to-heart about this, yeah? You can ask him if he has any thoughts on the company, and ask if he… has any… ideas. Like a merger with his entertainment company. You actually have many ways to… mix his current career and the family business, why…” 

As he kept speaking, he inevitably felt nauseous. He wanted to vomit. 

Xu Enzhen’s expression changed, and she hurried over to support his son, “Suisui, what’s wrong with you? Are you uncomfortable?”

Shen Xingsui shook his head lightly, and said helplessly, “Maybe… I drank too much.”

Xu Enzhen was very anxious as she scolded him, “You’re really… sigh… how can you drink so much if you don’t have a good alcohol capacity? Is your stomach uncomfortable?”

As Shen Xingsui became more flustered, someone walked over.

Fu Jinxiao held Shen Xingsui’s arm so that he could lean on the actor, then turned his face and said to Xu Enzhen, “Auntie, don’t worry, there is hangover soup stewing in the kitchen. It’s too crowded here, I’ll take him to rest.” 

Xu Enzhen felt relieved.  “Okay…Okay, then Jinxiao, I’ll leave it to you.”

Fu Jinxiao supported Shen Xingsui in a gentlemanly and polite manner, and the man’s every move gave people a sense of relief. He curled his lips into a smile and said, “I will take care of him. Don’t worry.” 

After speaking, he took the youth away.

President Fu and Li Na were left alone as they watched their son leave. 

After the two juniors had left, several adults looked at each other again, and in the end it was Shen Minglang who spoke first, “Uncle, what I want to tell you is that when I entered the company, I discussed it with my father first. I entered not because he wants me to help, it’s because I like to do business and make money. It’s my hobby, so I did it.” 

Shen Yong added, “Jinxiao’s ability is indeed very strong, even if he didn’t inherit the company, he has worked hard in the entertainment industry and built his own career there. It’s not bad, especially since he actually owns a fair share of those entertainment companies. I personally think you don’t have to push so hard.”

President Fu could only sigh deeply. 

He was used to being in a high position, which meant he was self-centered. He spent less time with his son and left for business trips a lot more. In addition, every time Fu Jinxiao resisted him, he didn’t know how to communicate with his child. 

Shen Xingsui’s rant was like a slap he needed to wake up. It might hurt, but it was necessary. He really should think about it in a different way.
