Chapter 8: Boyfriend Bought It (1)

[May I ask if you usually work out?]

It was only after Ye Yuqing sent the message over, that she realised what she had done. Shocked, she took a deep breath in.

Ah!Ah! What was I thinking?

Li Che saw the message flash through the notification bar but ignored it. Today, the stock market was good, he focused on that. But after five minutes, he opened the message box. That message he had just read, had been withdrawn. He paused for two seconds and replied with a question mark.

[?]

“—” Ye Yuqing was very embarrassed. Not only did he see it but also replied?! Forcing herself to calm down, she typed with restraint.

[You look to be in great shape, that is why I want some advice~!]

[Li Che: You are already very energetic.]

“—”

Energetic? Does he mean to say overly lively? The topliner* is a topliner, even the words are so nice, if you don’t make money, then who does!

[* all this time she thought the work of ml is a host[ waiter] in a bar and he is the top host, perhaps like a café in Japan]

[Ye Yuqing: I like to run, what sport do you like?]

[Li Che: Swimming.]

[Ye Yuqing: I like swimming too! We could set up a date to take a swim together!]

She had never been to a swimming pool, but it didn’t matter, she would learn later, and this would be her favorite sport in the future.

Li Che was a little surprised, he blinked while looking at the screen. Does she know what it means to invite a man to go swimming?

He was very conflicted by the fact that though she approached him quite aggressively, she did not cross the line at all. He didn’t like others invading his life. For the time being, he still didn’t hate her. Of course, neither did he take it to heart.

[–Swimming is a single-person sport and not necessary.]

Seeing these words on the screen, Ye Yuqing’s face was a little hot.

[Okay, thank you for reminding me, I know.]

Rejected? Right, after all, he is a topliner, certainly not easy to get an appointment.

Ye Yuqing immediately switched her tactic and asked cheekily:

[Which day are you free? Thank you for the ride last time, I want to invite you to dinner. ]

The other party responded quickly, saying that there wasn’t any time and it wasn’t necessary. The attitude was polite but distant.

Ye Yuqing unhappily put down her phone.

Ah, too difficult! It’s just not easy to invite him over with a casual excuse. Is there any other way?

After the weekend outing, the entire office had been greatly affected. In that, it had a detrimental effect.

On Monday, nearly 30% of colleagues took sick or personal leave. In order to increase the productivity ratio of employees, without discussing with anyone, Zhang Lu took 20% more orders than last week. He was very angry at the sight of the empty workstations. He then called them all one by one saying that he hadn’t approved the leave and would deduct pay for the entire day if they did not come to the office.

But nobody cared. It wasn’t like he could help it if they stayed at home and didn’t show up.

Then came the problem- the extra work he had taken on, which would have been evenly divided into the day-to-day work among the employees on Monday had failed to achieve the schedule. In the end, the following was not able to meet the deadline.

The employee sitting next to Ye Yuqing was so busy finishing the copywriting framework of a product. She was so hard-pressed for time, that she had to ask her (YY) to help fill in the details. Since they shared a good rapport, she agreed to help.

Because of the review, Ye Yuqing had to write a copy. She buried her head and didn’t lift it up all afternoon. By the time she had finished, it was already half-past six, past the clock-out time.

Ye Yuqing turned off the computer and dipped her head to clear the table. Right then, someone patted her on the shoulder. She turned her head to look at the arrival. Off late, this person would often make abrupt appearances behind her seat. As such, She wasn’t too surprised.

“Xiao Ye, are you leaving now? Do you have other things?” Zhang Lu asked with a smile as he ran his fingers through his hair.

She nodded. “Yes, I have to deal with some personal matters, so I am very anxious.” Without waiting for a reply, she pretended to be really anxious and picking her bag rushed out.

The director had been visiting her workstation a lot these past couple of days. And in between caring about her work, he would also narrate a few heartfelt stories that really made her a bit overwhelmed.

Entering the elevator, Ye Yuqing clicked on Jason’s Moments- still empty and nothing.

If she were to compare, this person was okay unlike  Director Zhang, who made her feel uncomfortable.

Ye Yuqing only knew that the other party was a waiter in the club, and was very good at tea art, but she knew nothing about his personal lfe.

Ah, there is one thing, the Tea Ceremony!

Ye Yuqing suddenly thought of an idea.Will the club sell their tea to her?Perhaps they will through Jason! That way the two will have something to talk about.

When she goes to pick up the tea, she can still meet!

Ye Yuqing was psychologically prepared that the price was not cheap, and considered the words she used to send on his  Wechat.

Lowering the iPad in his hand, Li Che took off his glasses and rubbed his brow. He didn’t have the habit of wearing a watch, instead, he picked up his phone on the table, ready to check the time. As soon as he looked at the display, the notification bar showed a new message.

Li Che was slightly stunned. He had just finished reading the last month’s clubhouse bill, was this a new deal?

[Hello, I take the liberty to ask if I can buy tea from the clubhouse through you?]

The message was sent five minutes ago.

[I want to buy some for the Mid-Autumn Festival and drink it myself if I can.]

Li Che looked at the cartoon avatar. She was unique in his friend list and easy to distinguish.

Ye Yuqing kept peeking at her phone every two minutes. She even turned the Wechat notification tone to the maximum, putting the conversation between the two at the top.  Upon a ding-dong, she quickly picked up the phone.

[Not for sale, and if you want to buy it, it’s best to go to the store and try it.]

Ye Yuqing was stunned for two full seconds before she managed a reply.

[Then I will go there next time to drink, your tea is delicious! Can I order you to make the tea? Help you increase your sales a little if you don’t have other customers… ]
