[Birth of Nightmare Land!]

“Wahahaha! A meal after becoming rich overnight sure tastes great!”

“Ufufufufufufu, my channel’s getting more and more subscribers~! It’s gotten monetized, and the money from ads has started pouring in!”

A day after I’d taken over Helheim. Seele and I were eating katsudon at a restaurant in the city celebrating our gains from the battle.

I’d exchanged Pope Gregorion’s large sum of gold for real money, and Seele’s popularity apparently had shot up after the video of the prison escape she had secretly filmed go viral. It seemed that when your channel’s subscribers exceeded a certain number, you could get money depending on the number of views your videos got. Maybe I should give uploading a video a shot sometime.

As she took the rice stuck on her cheek and put it in her mouth, Seele asked me, “By the way, couldn’t you have squeezed a little more money out of the devs, Lord Demon King? You found a lot of holes in the system, too.”

“Well, honestly I’d very much like to, given how they mistreated me, but when I looked it up, I found that the devs started their company from scratch with a little fund, so I kept it in moderation. Besides, if the money circulation in the city falls too much, it’s gonna be a big problem later on.”

“Ahh, true that. This city is located in the most difficult area at present, so not many players, if any, will come in the near future. It’ll be better for you to hold back at least until players start spending their money here.”

I nodded at Seele’s words.

Along with the land rights, I’d also acquired the ownership of the shops standing on them, and the ‘Confirm Owned Shops’ submenu was added to my menu window.

It was filled with many convenient features to help shop owners like the clothing craftswoman Francoise manage their shops. Having suddenly gotten my hands on hundreds of shops, it was a blessing for me.

When I tried to look at the sales and expenditures of my shops through it, I found that the shops were closely linked, and money was circulating between them so smoothly it was disgusting. When shop A yields a profit, it buys materials and miscellaneous goods at shop B, when shop B yields a profit, it buys materials and miscellaneous goods at shop C, when shop C is profitable, it will purchase materials and miscellaneous goods at store D, and so on so forth.

As long as the player who became a shop owner didn’t intervene, the system would manage the business in a well-balanced manner behind the scenes through the clerk NPC. After all, it was too much of a burden for players to manage shops in the game. Our login time was limited.

“Well, I’ll leave the management to System-sama and NPCs. I gotta prepare for the battle event four days later~.”

“Oh yeah, now that you have gained such a large guild house, there’s a movement happening on the message board, which is basically, ‘Let’s all team up and take down Yuri’s guild first!’. They must be wary of you going rampage like you did in the last battle event~.”

“Oh, speaking of which, what were you doing then? I only participated in the first round, but I didn’t see you; did you participate at all?”

“Kh, I did participate, in the first round too, you brute! I was burned to nothingness by one of your Gigantic Dragon Plant’s lasers! Seele-san became mad, tears filled her eyes. Ahh, so she became one of Gigataro’s victims.

“Well, uh… it’s best to let bygones be bygones!”

“Kiii, I’m so pissed just recalling iiiiit?! I know, I’ll perform so great in the next event you won’t even get a chance to step in! I’m gonna go level up!” Seele rushed out of the shop with her red greatsword in hand. I was glad to see her full of motivation.

Alright, I should make my preparations, too. Let’s start by checking the state of the guild first.

I opened the menu window and tapped the newly added submenu ‘Guild Management’.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Guild Name: Guild of Yuri

Affiliated players: 2

Guild Master: Yuri | Submaster: Seele

Lot Size: 510,000 m²

Number of Garrisoned Combat NPCs: 645

Number of Garrisoned Monsters: 825

A smile bloomed across my face upon seeing the ‘Number of Garrisoned Monsters’.

Guild house had a special system. In case there was an intruder in your guild house, you might deal damage to them even if the guild house was in the city. You might also garrison up to a total of 9999 monsters in the guild house.

Furthermore, in case NPCs or monsters died in the guild house, they would respawn after a day. Summoners who had been mistreated were finally given preferential treatment for once.

So now, there were 825 monsters—which included the NPCs’ familiar—walking around the city.

Of course, this would have been impossible if my guild house was just your regular building~.

“Okay, I know what I’m going to do. I’m gonna grind for levels while collecting monsters at the same time! I’d like to fight that baldhead bastard again too, so I’ll search for a way to make up for the nerfing of ‘Tenacity’ while I’m at it!”

I’d also like to get my gears upgraded, gather guild members, and asked Seele’s help with uploading a video~.

I couldn’t contain my excitement having so many things to do. I paid the clerk NPC who was trembling in admiration of me and left the city right away.
