In her room, Ning Wei sat at the corner of her bed while holding the silk pouch that Ye Qian had given for her with a gentle and loving smile on her face.

If one were to see there was a flash of love and sadness in her eyes as well.

But there was even happiness which she felt after staring at the small gift in her hands.

Even before, she opened the pouch she was pleased by the thought that Ye Qian still had her in his heart, if not why would he have brought something for her.

While thinking of this, Ning Wei's lips trembled as her breathing sped up.

This was the first time someone had given her a gift for the sake of gifting her.

She might have got some presents before, but she didn't want to remember those from the past since it only brought sadness and grief in her current well-going life.

Ning Wei carefully opened the knot and removed the things in the pouch.

She had felt that there was some kind of jewellery after she had touched it.

And since she was a woman, she was already delighted and quite eager to see what it was.

"Awww."

Her eyes shone with gentleness as she removed the pair of earrings and a necklace pendant in the pouch.

"Is that a peacock?"

She looked closely and saw that there was a peacock pattern in the necklace and even on the earrings.

If one looked at it, it appeared that it was a real peacock feather and as the light fell on it, the rings and pendant shone with different colours.

"This is really beautiful."

She stroked the peacock figure in the pendant gently and felt that it was indeed a very good craft.

"Could he have made it by himself?"

A question suddenly popped in her mind as she remembered the time when Ye Qian had made the basket necklace for Xiao Ya.

Thinking of this, her heart was filled with warmth.

"I didn't know that you would even think of me as the same as you treat Sister Meng."

"But do I really deserve this?"

Her eyes turned moist but as soon as she started to feel sad, a sudden coolness passed from the pieces of jewellery in her hand and entered her hand.

Though it was a bit cold, the coolness that was brought up from the pieces of jewellery gave off a soothing feeling and didn't make her feel cold.

To her, it was cool, but not cold at the same time.

She was a bit confused but a smile appeared on her lips as she remembered that there was no way that she would be able to understand Ye Qian's unfathomable means of magic.

Though Ye Qian or Yuan Meng had not told her about how Ye Qian got those magical powers, Ning Wei felt that it was not necessary for her to know something like this, if Ye Qian were to say it then it would only mean that he had complete faith and had accepted her with all his heart.

Thinking of this she felt a pang of pain but she sighed.

But the real reason was completely different, Ye Qian indeed had complete faith in Ning Wei and would have told her everything about his death even if he had just met her.

But he didn't know how she would react to such information.

It was already quite hard for Yuan Meng to accept all of this, as for the little girls who still haven't seen the world much had easily believed his words completely since they still thought that it might be possible.

But the same was not true in the case of adults.

Being small, the knowledge of the world the little girls had was very little and they had their minds completely open for new ideas and thoughts and would easily accept such, but that was not possible for adults who already had their own perspective in such things.

It was just like how when someone was a child, they would easily believe that there are fairies and angels and ghosts.

But if one were to say the same things to an adult then they would rather not believe it.

And so Ye Qian had not told Ning Wei about it.

But here, Ning Wei had misinterpreted and thought that maybe Ye Qian didn't consider her that much close to his heart as Yuan Meng and blamed herself for it.

"But I am still more than happy, that you have me in your heart nonetheless."

The more the touched it, the more at ease she felt.

She would never open the pouch.
