Chapter 43 - No way!

I sprung to my feet almost making my chair fall over. I stared at him with huge eyes.

"No freaking way!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. Demos quickly came to stand beside him. This was not the kind of surprise I was expecting. No, definitely not. Marriage? Are you kidding me? Their serious faces told me they were dead serious. My heart slammed inside my chest, my breath came out shaky. This was real. I swallowed my panic. I looked around searching for some logic to this.

-Liliane?

My eyes went back to their worried expressions. I shook my head and sunk back on my seat.

"I-I never thought about the...legal part of the thing," I said turning my gaze on the red and white candles. "This is pretty," I chuckled at the amount of effort he must have put into the decoration.

-Liliane, we thought you knew.

I stared at my trembling hands. Marriage? Come on! Demos stepped in front of me. He took my hands in his and dove his eyes into mine.

"You love us, right?" he waited for my answer. I took a minute before nodding.

"You feel happy living with us, right?" my eyes darted from him to Grant. Grant had terrible puppy eyes. It killed me.

"Yes," I said with a broken voice.

"Then what's the issue?" damn Demos framed that marriage thing in such a beautiful wrapping and with a freaking bow, to say the least, that I almost fell for it. I frowned at him.

"But I'm not ready," my voice rose to a high pitch. His face softened and hugged me. I melted against him with my arms going around his waist. Being seated and him standing made a weird hug. Grant came to hug me and patted my back. I could feel their love through the link like a flame igniting inside my chest and gradually spreading throughout my body.

"We are also experiencing this for the first time," he added with a laugh I joined in and felt better after good humor outburst.

-we love you. We are happy to be your mates.

I looked up and met their loving gaze.

"I love you," I sighed. Grant grinned and let go.

"Can we have dinner now? We have our wedding to celebrate. I made dinner and dessert!" he stressed the last words.

"Please, don't use that word," I grimaced.

"Then can I call you my wife?" I gasped at him shocked that he even considered it. He pouted and flashed me the puppy eyes. Damn, that was unfair.

"It's weird," I threw my arms in the air. Demos pulled a chair and turned to us as he settled down.

"Wifey, just roll with it," he smirked. What the hell. Don't Wifey me! I glared at him.

"You can call me hubby and sit on my lap," I almost choked on his comment. No freaking way! Grant went to the kitchen and got the food. My ill-mannered stomach groaned loudly. Demos burst in throaty laughter. I hid my red face behind my hands.

-That's so cute.
