“I’m off.”

After eating breakfast with Harry, I headed to the commercial guild.

I had a morning meal with Harry and then headed to the Commercial Guild.

In the dining area, yesterday’s adventurers were looking a bit bummed out.

They wanted to get some shaved ice ale again so the adventurers were eager to make some money today,

But they were disappointed when Lutz, the eldest, refused, saying he couldn’t make it because there is no ice.

We arrived at a magnificent building in the center of town.

We passed the reception counter and headed for the exclusive counter where Milia-san was.

When Milia-san found us, she stood up and greeted us.

“Good morning, Ginjiro-sama and Harry-san.”

Instead of taking us to the counter space, she led us to a private room.

“I would like to greet you once again. I am Milia, a member of the Mainz Branch of the Commercial Guild, and I will be in charge of Ginjiro-sama from today. I look forward to working with you.”

Milia bows with a slightly nervous look on her face.

“Thank you very much. I am also looking forward to working with you. I am in a position to ask for advice, so I would be happy if you could treat me as you did yesterday without being so formal.”

Ginjiro shakes hands with her after saying so.

Harry shook hands with her as well, but his face was bright red.

Ginjiro felt guilty for making Harry two days off from work, but he let himself feel less guilty, thinking that it would be good if he could narrow the distance with the person he liked.

As I sat in my chair thinking about this, a female staff member brought me a cup of tea and a small piece of yokan (sweet bean jelly).

Probably she is one of receptionist girl, so to thank her for bringing me the tea, I give her the konpeito I had purchased as a gift.

“It’s a candy from my hometown. Please take it if you like.”

The receptionist girl asked me what it is, and was surprised when I told her it was a candy made of sugar.

Of course, I gave Milia the konpeito as well.

“May I open it?”

I tell her to go ahead.

The receptionist girl is also checking the contents.

“It’s beautiful. It’s like a twinkling star.”

Harry, sitting next to me, nodded.

Harry looks happy when he see Milia, who takes a bite of the kompeito after putting her hair over her ears and looks happy.

By the way, the receptionist girl keeps looking at the kompeito.

I told her to eat it if she likes, and she popped a piece into her mouth.

She looked so happy at once, so I was glad that I gave her a gift.

Now that the greeting is over, we discuss the summer festival.

“Just for confirmation, what are Ginjiro-san going to sell at summer festival food stall?”

Yesterday I told her I was going to open a food stall, but I didn’t tell her what I was going to sell.

So I told them the food that I was going to sell but neither Milia nor the receptionist girl had a clear idea of what it’s.

“It may be difficult to imagine, so I will show you the actual product.”

I took the shaved ice machine from the item box and put it on the table next to me.

As I set up the ice blocks, Milia asked me if this ice was made by Harry’s magic.

“I can’t use ice magic, so it wasn’t me.”

“If that’s the case, then this ice…”

I couldn’t tell her that I bought it from an online store, so I told her that it was a skill, not magic, but it was hard to explain.

Im glad Milia didn’t ask further questions about the ice.

Harry helps me make shaved ice.

The sound of shaving ice echoes through the room.

“This shaved ice is to be served with syrup. I have prepared melon, strawberry, and blue Hawaii syrups. Please pour condensed milk on top if you like. First, let me show you how it’s done.”

Ginjiro’s favorite shaved ice is Blue Hawaii.

What flavor is blue Hawaii? I wondered, but I didn’t really know, so I just went on with the shaved ice.

Of course, the condensed milk was added.

“Here you go, everyone.”

Milia seems to have chosen melon.

She said she doesn’t know what condensed milk is, so I tell her it’s sweet and delicious.

Harry chooses the same melon as Milia.

The receptionist’s girl chooses strawberry.

Each of them also put condensed milk on the ice and put a spoon in the ice when it was ready.

When I thinking that shaved ice eaten in this hot weather is a luxury, Milia and the receptionist’s girl stop moving.

They are still holding their spoons, and I wonder if they are okay, but then they start to move again.

They scoop the shaved ice with the spoon and take a bite.

They stop for a moment, then their mouths start moving.

Repeat the process of stopping and moving again.

The receptionist girl stops moving completely in the condensed milk zone.

We both finished the bowl without talking, and I waited for Milia’s response.

“Ginjiro-san, how much do you intend to sell this for?”

I hadn’t decided how much to sell it for.

At Japan local summer festival, shaved ice was about 200-300 yen, so I replied that I was thinking of two or three copper coins.

“Um, Ginjiro-san. First of all, this ice alone is worth a silver coin …… or even a small gold coin. Ice is usually not available in summer. Moreover, this syrup is sweet and has a nice aroma. This one is also worth a small gold coin at least. And this condensed milk things is priceless. I can’t believe that this shaved ice is being sold for two or three small copper coins.”

“I want children able to eat it, so I don’t want to raise the price too much.”

Then Milia-san thinks for a moment and then asks if Ginjiro wants to do business? Or want the children to eat it at the festival?

First of all, I tried to learn business in another world by working at a food stall.

But a food stall at a summer festival brings back memories of the fun I had as a child.

I want to make some money, but I also want the kids to have fun.

I tell Milia about these thoughts.

Although young, Milia-san is an elite who is allowed to move freely in the commercial guild.

If only making money was a concern, I could just sell sugar and ice, but Milia-san thinks about Ginjiro.

“How about offering free shaved ice for kids? If you are considering selling it for a couple of coppers, I think it would be better to make it free. Maybe offer it to the kids for free if they pick up a few pieces of trash, or make it part of their volunteer work.”

Hmmm…sounds kind of interesting.

I can’t say it out loud, but the cost of shaved ice is cheap.

“If you want to learn business at a food stall, why not set up a stall at the daily morning market? But don’t sell the condensed things. It will ruin the market.”

Did she just say it will ruin the market?

But the morning market sounds interesting.

“Lastly, as a member of commercial guild, could you please sell shaved ice with condensed things in the garden at the entrance of the guild on the day of the summer festival? In the garden, there will be plenty of seating for the parade, and the guild’s invited guests and clients will gather there. We would like you to sell the shaved ice there for one small gold coin per cup and keep ten percent of the profit for a commission to the Commercial Guild.”

Well, the commercial guild wouldn’t make a profit if I didn’t, and Milia-san wouldn’t stand out either.

I doubt if shaved ice can be sold for 10,000 yen for a small gold coin, but I reply that it’s fine.

Finally, Milia handed me a guild certificate, which serves as proof of membership in the Commercial Guild.

Although still a provisional registration, she said that it will become an official registration if I accumulate achievements in the commercial guild from now on.
