Chapter 914 T.D.O.N.B: S27B, Part IV - Lizard's Speed

Ki'rai threw her blade, pulling the last one she had by her belt, then once again turned into a wisp of white smoke, to appear right in front of him, about to jam the short sword into his chest. Suddenly the turned into a solid crystal in the shape of his own body.

The weapon dug deeply into the structure, before her smaller body also hit it, causing the sculpture to shatter into fragments.

She glanced around, only briefly, since there wasn't time for anything more, and noticed him quite a way further. He burst from the ground like a crystal of ice, regaining his shape, and then morphing into a normal, still alien, physical form.

Then spikes emerging from the ground forced her to escape. But that was only a prelude to what the pissed magical was going to do. He moved two large parts of the whole area, forcing even the warrior to retreat. They split from the rest of the solid bedrock into two, local tectonic plates, which slammed into one another, right on Ki'rai.

The sound was deafening, and the impact raised a large cloud of dust, for a moment obscuring the whole part of the area around.

Even with this, the movement of the aliens didn't stop. The warrior rushed through the cloud heading directly toward the place where he last spotted the mage. Despite charging, he was too slow.

Ki'rai was already there, as she once again turned into a wisp of white smoke, appearing by the two blades laying on the ground, not too far away from the melted, still very hot and bright orange, spot.

She got to the mage, this time not piercing, but slashing. Two swings were enough to pierce all the protection, but the spellcaster had a different answer to her assault. He slowed her down once more, buying time for his escape, and for the others to help. At the same moment, the warrior came charging and smashed Ki'rai with the shield,d blasting her away.

She bounced off the ground like a ping-pong ball, spinning and tumbling in the air, before landing on her feet, and sliding even further, fighting to not lose her balance.

The gunslinger spotted her shadow in the dust, then opened fire, blasting the whole area with laser beams. She blocked a few, but a couple hit her.

The armor seemed to be providing good enough protection, as it withstood everything without any trace left on the surface, but this didn't mean her situation was in any shape or form well. It was bad, and this was only a small glimpse of light in a dark tunnel.

She was alone against three who were working well enough for her to win. She was struggling very hard, and they definitely still had some hidden cards to play with. She had too, but it seemed too early to tap into such powers where they didn't even make it half the way.

"Is there any other choice?", she asked herself.

How did I know that? Well... You will learn everything with time.

The dust was settling, which seemed like such a loss since it provided a lot of cover for her. If she was to do something, the best time was now, so there was none of it to be wasted anymore.

There awfully didn't seem to be a different way out, that just overpower one of them, gaining the necessary advantage, so she activated another skill. In the whites of her eyes, at the time moment, the only thing present in her eyeballs appeared black pupil. It instantaneously expanded, taking over the whole space. At the same moment, her whole body started shaking.

The shake turned into a tremor. A vibration that was moving her whole being. Then she disappeared.

She popped up in front of the warrior, thrusting her short swords, but there weren't suddenly just two of them, it was a barrage of at least a hundred. He somehow blocked it all with the shield, but she was already cooking something else.

The mage tried to stop her using the slowing magic, but she vanished, appearing behind the back of the warrior as a spinning tornado of blades, that slammed into his back, bursting with orange sparks, then, before the spellcaster's spell could catch on her, she appeared again in front of the warrior, who stumbled forward, since the previous attack made it past his armor, and dug into the flesh.

The pain made him lose balance, and she was there, right by his legs, to seize the opportunity she created for herself.

She slashed his lags, then disappeared. She reappeared in front of the mage's face. He already had a protective barrier prepared, but a barrage of blades pierced it through, stabbing the alien in a few places.

She appeared once again, this time a few meters above the warrior, who fell on his face and was struggling to pick himself up. She dropped one of her short swords vertically down, then used a skill on the weapon.

It was in a free fall, but for some reason, it suddenly seemed to weigh as much as a tank or maybe something even bigger, as it went down instantaneously, piercing through the alien completely.

The gunslinger shot his beams at her, but she was no longer in the air. She turned into a wisp of white smoke to appear by the blade, barely visible because of how deep it dug into the dying warrior.

She grabbed it, violently pulled it out, then once again, vanished to finish the mage.

She appeared right behind him, and with a swift swing took the head off his shoulders, to land next to the falling corpse, which hit the ground with a dull thud. Something which couldn't be heard with all the chaos erupting around.

She then merged from the cloud of settling dust, slowly walking towards the gunslinger. He was shooting at her, but each time the bean was supposed to hit, she would briefly vanish to pop up again, a step or two further, completely avoiding the attack.

If not for the tree being in control, he would probably flee.
