Qu Moyu felt like he was struck by a thunder, unable to believe what he had heard for a while.

Shen Dai’s effort to cover the back of his neck with his hands deepened his understanding of the situation. He heard it right. Shen Dai didn’t want his ‘mark’ and even threatened to remove his glands.

Shen Dai didn’t want his ‘mark’.

The ‘mark’ of an S-class alpha symbolises the highest commitment he can give, which means that he will hand over the control of himself and the only reproduction right to the other party. This decision was made in a sober state. He knows how much pressure and predicament he will face and he knows what a huge risk he is taking. But he still decides to give it to the person he loves. It is the most precious thing in his life. But the other party doesn’t want it and doesn’t even appreciate it.

Qu Moyu instantly softened. He fell down on the bed and stared blankly at Shen Dai, who was holding the back of his neck and shrank into a ball. Everyone else was fighting to obtain an S-class alpha’s ‘mark’. But he was rejected to this extent?

Up to now, he never seemed to believe in what Shen Dai had said – “I want nothing from you and I don’t want you“. He has always been conceited that Shen Dai is only resentful towards him. That he was just dissatisfied with the situation between himself and Qiuqiu. As long as he treats them well and gives them a proper status, Shen Dai’s attitude towards him will get better sooner or later. After all, Shen Dai once liked him so much. After all, he can give Shen Dai a life far beyond his imagination.

It turned out that Shen Dai really didn’t want him anymore. His omega would rather hide in his estrus period. He preferred to have other alpha’s pheromones on his body. And he refused to be ‘marked’ by him.

That’s not his omega. Shen Dai refuses to be his omega.

He thought that all this would trigger his thunderous rage, but he had no strength at all. His brain was chaotic and blank. At this time, the only thing that could make him realise his own pain was his broken heart.

Why did this happen? How could he and Shen Dai become like this? What had he done to screw everything up?

Emotions can be turned into words and pronounced from the throat. But in the end, not a single word could be uttered. He mobilised all of his willpower to suppress the surging pheromones in his body. He needed to enclose himself in an invisible cage. He had to do this. As long as there was a little mistake, it could cause unimaginable consequences.

Qu Moyu got out of bed and put on his clothes in silence. He picked up his mobile phone and sent a message to the driver who was on call, asking the driver to park the car at the door of the unit building. He then sent the address to Uncle Heng and asked him to bring Aunt Lan over. One reason is to take care of the aftermath and the other is to bring Qiuqiu home. After he put down the phone, he put on Shen Dai’s clothes.

Shen Dai had already exhausted his physical strength and only shook violently when Qu Moyu touched him. Then, he stopped moving.

Qu Moyu wrapped Shen Dai in a blanket, hugged him in his arms, and went out the door.

Bai Xiangwan had already left and he didn’t meet anyone when he went downstairs. Qu Moyu quickly put Shen Dai in the car and asked the driver to take Shen Dai to a private hospital.

Seeing that Qu Moyu had no intention of getting in the car, the driver asked, “Master, where are you going?”

Qu Moyu only said “Take care of him”. He then closed the door and got into a taxi.

Qu Moyu went to a private club owned by a friend. It was a very special club that only received alphas or S-class alphas.

The manager knew him, but didn’t recognize him for a second. It was probably because he had never seen him look so depressed.

“Mr. Qu, you’re here. Why didn’t you ask the driver to tell me you’ll be here? I can get…”

“Lock me in.” Qu Moyu said with a hoarse voice.

The manager’s heart skipped a beat. He knew that Qu Moyu’s mood was on the verge of collapse. He didn’t want to suffer any unwarranted disaster, so he omitted the courtesy and hurriedly said, “This way, please.”

Qu Moyu followed the manager through the dim, endless corridor. The manager pushed open a narrow but surprisingly thick metal door. Qu Moyu walked into the dark room without hesitation.

When the door was closed and locked, Qu Moyu stood in the dark for a moment. It was only then that suddenly, the roar of the angry beast broke out.

***

The passage of time can no longer be accurately perceived by him and the darkness seems to devour everything… including time.

The heavy metal door was opened and a tall figure stood at the door. Most of the dim light was blocked.

The man said with a hint of ridicule: “Lights on.”

The room suddenly lit up. Qu Moyu tilted his head, closed his eyes tightly and slowly adapted to the light with the tingling pain.

The ‘room’ he is in is actually a square metal box. It can only be described as such because there is nothing in it except a built-in flexible light strip, a switch, and an emergency button.

The thick metal walls painted with dark blue colour are covered with bowl-shaped pits of different sizes. It was as if they were punched out by a giant. It is unimaginable what kind of force that had caused such damage.

The man looked at Qu Moyu, who was huddled in the corner with tattered clothes. He ‘tch tch’ twice before saying: “I will not charge you less. This decompression chamber had just arrived yesterday. It is made of a newly developed alloy, which is flexible. The hardness is better, but it’s fucking expensive.”

Qu Moyu slowly turned his face.

The visitor was wearing an ordinary black T-shirt and jeans. He was tall and sturdy. The casual clothes that didn’t really pay attention to its tailoring could not hide the undulating muscle lines underneath the clothes. His legs and arms were sturdy like a leopard ready for strike. He has short stubble and wheat-colored skin. His eyes are full of falcon-like sharpness, surrounded by a dangerous aura. This man has an extremely handsome appearance that makes people dared not look at him directly.

He came from a military family. He is the special force king, an S-class alpha, named Yu Fengcheng.

Only people with this background can obtain commercial licences for special alloys.

Yu Fengcheng looked at Qu Moyu. The dejected and embarrassed face made him stunned for a moment. He realised that Qu Moyu’s condition was worse than he imagined. So he put away his joking attitude and asked tentatively, “Why are you like this?”

The decompression chamber, as the name suggests, is a place to release pressure on alphas which are subjected to legal and moral constraints. Alphas cannot use pheromones to harm others under normal circumstances. Most especially for S-class alphas with biological weapon-level pheromones. When the emotions have accumulated to a certain level, a way must be found to vent them. So the decompression chamber was built in the city.

Usually alphas come here with anger issues. But Qu Moyu came with… sadness. It is really abnormal.

Qu Moyu leaned against the wall and stared blankly ahead. He murmured, “He doesn’t want my ‘mark’.”

“What?” Yu Fengcheng didn’t hear it clearly. Or maybe he heard it, but he wasn’t quite sure if he heard it correctly.

“He doesn’t want my ‘mark’.” Qu Moyu’s lips trembled slightly. “He told me that if I dare to ‘mark’ him again, he will remove his glands.” Shen Dai’s words hovered in his mind like a spell. It forced him to go crazy. As he spoke, tears streamed down his cheeks quietly. He raised his hand to cover his eyes and his tears seeped out between his fingers. He is crying… He actually cried. Even he himself was surprised that he could cry. He had almost forgotten what crying felt like.

The heart hurts too much and the tears are like a cruel expression of a poet.

Yu Fengcheng was silent.

They are both S-class alphas. The value of ‘marking’ in their minds is very high. In which, it can be compared with life, self-esteem, and property. He does not know who Qu Moyu is talking about. But if that person can make the crown prince of Xingzhou, who has always put interests first, willingly want to give the ‘mark’, he must be someone who is extremely cherished by Qu Moyu. Under such circumstances, being rejected so harshly meant that his sincerity and dignity have been crushed and trampled under his feet.

If it was him, he couldn’t stand it either.

Yu Fengcheng regretted coming to watch this ‘show’. He is not good at solving problems for others, especially for such a blow. He hesitated for a moment and then asked, “Why is it ‘again’?”

Qu Moyu opened his mouth and said in a hoarse voice, “I ‘marked’ him during the susceptible period and I forced him to wash it off.” Recalling one of the things he did, it was a stupid thing. He gritted his teeth with hatred. Why would he treat his omega and child like that? If only… If only he had realised his feelings for Shen Dai earlier… But it’s such a pity that there is no such thing in the world. The sins he had made must now be completely repaid.

Yu Fengcheng frowned: “I heard that the Zhou family wants to break the engagement off with you because someone else gave birth to an alpha baby for you. Is that him?”

Qu Moyu didn’t answer, tacitly confirming the fact.

Yu Fengcheng leaned against the wall and felt a headache: “I’ll take you to the lounge first. You need to replenish your energy now before you can go out and solve the problem yourself.”

*Translator’s note: Yeah. That’s Yu Fengcheng from ‘My Little Poplar’. I dunno why Shui Qian Cheng put forward some of the MLs from her other stories in this story but well, I should just let you guys know (those who are not aware of it) that the other novels are not ABO. I don’t really understand the logic but I don’t mind. It doesn’t have to make sense and I’m not gonna criticise the author for it lol -K

P/S: In the previous chapter, I’ve read some comments that talked about QMY’s previous action as r*pe and yes I agree on that. I think this story is tagged with r*pe in NovelUpdates. I should’ve put the warning on top of the chapter beforehand. So, that was my mistake. I’ll put it in. I apologize for any unintentional triggering on your part. And no. We don’t condone r*pe. But some people have their own preferences in writing and reading. The act is not glorified in this story. The author wrote about it to incite our disgust and hate towards ML, I supposed. And our ML is also a human being who made mistakes which he will later try to redeem himself. I’m not siding on the ML but this is just the author’s style in writing and I like her style of writing so I’m a little sad when she is criticised but criticism is also necessary so it’s okay. If you think this story is not your cup of tea, it’s fine. I hope you will find a better story to heal you. Thank you. -K
