Chapter 692 - Slowly perishing

They were attacked by elephants and they left the place in a different direction as they didn't have much bullets supply. They entered the deep forest running to be safe before planning out.

After a safe distance, they planned a way out but they didn't expect the arsonists to reach them quickly at dawn.

They tactfully pushed a rock on one arsonist and escaped but caught by a group of elephants that got hold of his one teammate.

They thought they could escape killing the arsonists but seeing an elephant pedal their teammate's head, it dawned them on the dangerous situation they were in.

They wanted to save teammate but it was too late.

Then escaping continued but again they came face to face with the arsonists when the second round of firing continued. Both sides were very strong, they managed to kill one arsonist and wound one. His teammate got wounded too.

All had to move because of the tiger. According to their plan, four split and were meeting at a river. But the tiger followed his one of teammate and they heard a loud cry of his teammate.

By the time Jai reached him, he was dead. With a heavy heart, he had to carry forward again and saw wounded teammates at the river.

One was heavily wounded whose blood loss was heavy. It was a night at that time. He managed to make him cross the river and diverted the attention of the last two arsonists towards them.

Since it was dark, they couldn't hold on to them and they reached the cliff. How much ever the silent work they did by cutting and tying the bine, it was loud enough to be heard for quite a distance due to leaves ruffle.

It was dawn when Jai's teammate was rappelling an arsonist attacked him. They had hands-on before Jai pushed him off the ridge.

He was rappelling when another arsonist reached them. Jai had to dodge bullets pointed at him while going down and reached eighty percent of the distance, bine got unstable.

Jai shouted in their code language to make his teammate run and he jumped down on the ground before tightly pulling the bine down. It took him lots of effort to break the bine but it was too late and the arsonist jumped to water to save himself.

Jai saw animals nearing waterbody and left in the opposite direction where his teammate went. An arsonist killed a bear with his last bullet before following Jai.

Jai wasn't sure if the arsonist still had a firearm or not hence he managed to stay in dark watching his activity. Jai was weaponless since he had used them all on animals or on arsonists.

It was evening he saw that arsonist threw his firearms and held a knife and searched him with his sharp eagle eyes. Jai was already wounded and lost a lot of blood.

He was considerably weak than the opposition. He was also tired of running in the forest.

A strong thought arose and he wanted to leave the forest soon to reach Sky and Loran. He had remembered them many times thinking about how much they would be panicking.

He also knew Sky won't tell about his identity to Loran and she would carry the baggage alone keeping him in the dark.

He wanted to leave the forest for Sky.

Hence he revealed his location and went towards the arsonist who was running towards him with murderous intent. He attacked with a knife and Jai fought in bare hands. Their attack got fierce which was taking up Jai's all left out energy.

When the Arsonist hit Jai's left shoulder, Jai's reflex slowed down completely.

The arsonist took advantage and attacked fiercely at Jai. The latter lost footing and fell on the ground which gave time to the arsonist to take his knife and slashed his calf viciously. Blood spurt out all over cutting his most of the energy.

Jai had no option but throw dirt to his eyes when he attacked him on the upper body. He took the chance and snatched the knife before slitting his throat brutally.

Even though the arsonist was dead, the chances of Jai's survival with high blood loss were low. He tore the hem of his shirt with his least energy and tied above the knee.

He tried to stand and walk with the support of trees but he fell numerous times just to reach a few tens of meters. At last, he had no energy left and laid on the ground.

He very well knew if he loses consciousness, he would never wake up again. He pulled on for however long he could.

He was slowly perishing.

There were no hopes.

He felt suffocated thinking he became the reason Sky losing her hopes too. He couldn't be there to help Sky to collect herself. He couldn't fulfill the promise to stay by her side all the time.

His heart tugged uncontrollably thinking how could Loran stay strong for family and Sky.

The tears started to trickle down thinking about everyone who couldn't even get to know anything about him.

He knew Samara was strong enough to move on after some time but his heart ached uncontrollably thinking about Sky.

His physical pain and blood loss made him almost close his eyes when he felt like Sky calling him loudly.

A faint smile appeared remembering how Sky stood on her toes and cheered loudly than anybody when he was playing the finals of under sixteen.

He won the under sixteen but the happiest one was Sky.

It was his dream to play for the country as a national player but it also became her dream just because he wanted to play.

When his other co-player left playing to concentrate on studies changing their dreams, she stood by him, practicing day and night, watching his game videos so that she could help and he shouldn't drop.

She gave her all so that he could stand tall.

She was happy seeing him play ignoring the results of the games.

He became president in the school due to small interest but she did all the work saying he should rest and practice.

When she got the multiple chances to be vice president, a chance to be president to stand high, she went behind the scenes having no interest to get anyone's attention.

Many thought she was scared of attention but only a few knew she doesn't give damn about such trivial things.

Jai again felt like Sky calling him but he wasn't sure it was in his head or for real. He sensed pain in the tone when he heard again, he tried his best to move his hand as he had no energy to shout back.

But he didn't hear the voice again. A faint smile was disappearing thinking how could he think Sky to enter forest when he cleaned up from her hands.

Having no strength, he gave up and was closing his eyes, a warm hug made him hold on to the Hope. He heard a meek voice yammering 'Brother Jai' near his ear.

He was not sure whether his brain was creating an illusion due to blood loss and weakness but he still tried to speak hearing her. He felt like his body float when somebody carrying him. He kept humming when heard Sky talking but he really didn't understand anything that she spoke.

He just knew if he becomes unconscious, he will never wake up...

Jai was hugging weeping Sky as he described everything. Then he asked about her which made him tear up and apologized many times as Sky wiped his tears.

She told who knew his identity so far and rest had no idea. They continued to talk with light things to lighten up.

It was four at dawn when both dozed off.

Jai was leaning on the headrest, Sky was holding his hand tight, laying on bed keeping her head on his lap. Both didn't wake up when Loran and Arlo laid them properly on the bed early in the morning which made them realize when they had slept.
