Chapter 690 - Slowly perishing(2)

-- Next day --

Excluding Loran, the trio went out for a jog before hitting the gym where Ryan was already present.

Excluding Ryan, all went to Harley corporation after breakfast. Arlo asked his work files to be delivered to Harley.

They talked and worked. Sky had gone to the office after a very long time so her load was pretty high hence Arlo did his secretary work after finishing his urgent works.

Her meetings were long and tiring which exhausted her too much. They had lunch with Sam and all in the nearest Cantonese restaurant which was filled with lots of laughter and fun as others described Sky in the forest.

After returning to the office, Sky finished two long meetings before collapsing on the couch between Arlo and Jai.

Sky suddenly thought of Samara, "Brother Jai! Sister-in-law didn't contact me even once in the past days. Did you call her? Does she knows about you?"

Jai glanced at Arlo before answering her, "Your husband informed her and asked her to stay in the camp for not to burden you more."

Sky many times thought about Samara and couldn't understand why she didn't contact her or Loran even once. Now it turned out to be Arlo taking care of her so that somebody's wife shouldn't worry his wife.

Sky was very touched but she complimented Jai, "Brother Jai! Your choice of a man for me is the best. What can I do without you!"

Sky was leaning on Jai looking at Arlo who smiled hearing her complimenting him. Loran spoke lowering his tab glaring Sky, "Killing two birds with a stone. Sister Sky! You are sly."

Sky shifted next to Loran, "Cozying up with me now. Sister Sky! You are safe from my wrath."

Not only Sky, even Jai, and Arlo also sensed a hint of jealousy. That's the reason why Sky didn't want him to feel left out. She continued working sitting next to him as they spoke in between.

Sky took everyone to gaming Arcade including Sam and others after making sure they were free.

The least played once were Jai, Sam, and Arlo. Ryan joined them after some time in Ray's disguise. They had dinner and continued having a blast of fun in the Arcade.

Sky dueled Sam in a few games and lost in every match getting killed by him. Later she saw all losing to Sam excluding Arlo and Jai who didn't play. Sky irritated him as compliments before all dispersed to their home.

Arlo stopped Sky before she leaves to check on Jai, "Honey! You should talk it off with your brother. I understand you are angry but the faster you clear it, you will feel better and Jai won't keep blaming himself for all your suffering. We both know why he hid his track but do you know why he became special undercover in intelligence?"

Sky nodded, "I was the reason why he chose. He wanted to protect me in a critical time where it would be difficult for others... My messy life dragging everyone to danger and I can't even blame anybody for that other than myself.

Sometimes I think, if I wasn't present in their life, wouldn't their lives be better and calmer. Even though you say I painted your dark life with beautiful colors, am I not messing the colors too much?

I worry about others making you feel helpless looking after me. Grandmother used to worry about only you two, now she worries about everyone because of me. Ryan was looking after business but now he has to arrange everything whenever there is a problem in my life. Brother Jai always looked after me but he also has to work harder. Loran tries his best never to break down in front of me to stop worrying me.

Not only my life is complex but I'm also increasing all your problems too. Am I really worth all your attention and love when I'm the reason for all your problems?"

Arlo knew she wasn't just lively and cheerful, she was also very sensible and sensitive. He didn't expect her to think so much to the level she was feeling worthless. He just wanted to say Jai wanted to keep her safe hence he took such a job but she finally said what she was battling with herself.

He glanced at Jai who was standing near the door from the time she started speaking.

Arlo gently wiped her tears, "You aren't responsible for our choices. We chose to standby you for who you are. We accept both happiness and difficulties with you. If we are with you for happiness then there would be no difference between a passing by stranger and family. If you aren't worth our attention and affection, we wouldn't have stayed beside you..."

Jai took a deep breath and continued entering their room.

He wanted to tell her rest well instead of going to his room so he had gone to meet her. But the door was open and he heard her.

He even had believed that she was angry at him whereas she was actually blaming everything on herself.

"Will you run away or just stand when we face a problem? You would be the first one to make sure you solve everything. Will you let us be sad when we are depressed? You will be the first one to clear the gloominess. When you care about us, how can you expect us to leave you to suffer alone? When you are our happiness, why are you expecting us to let go of our happiness?

There are no ifs in life. In that case, our life wouldn't be as fulfilling as it is now. Nobody would be envious of our relationship. Your relationship is good with us because it's you. Nobody else can be YOU and nobody can take your place and be the YOU who we love unconditionally irrespective of anything.

You can't say how our life would be without you because you are not us. Do you know how our life would be without you? Your husband would be just a ruthless President without any interest in his own life. Ryan wouldn't be joyful as he is now. Loran would have long been taken a wrong path in his life. I wouldn't be the champion everyone is proud of.

If you don't know your importance in our lives, you shouldn't blame yourself either for everything."

Jai had stopped saying and there was deathly silence for few seconds until Loran entered inside.

"You guys just know to make my sister cry more." He hugged her after wiping her cheeks carefully. He wanted to check on Jai and saw Jai near Sky's room door. He went ahead and heard Jai.

"Sister Sky, stop hanging around with these two. They will make you like them, serious and no-fun. They are so boring, how can you still like them? They are so heartless, how can they make you cry? Next time, we will kick up a huge fuss to let them solve. We..."

All heard a light knock on the door. "A maid said your four are together. Are you guys having fun without me? How can guys leave me alone?"

He saw a feeble smile on Jai and Arlo hearing Loran who had purposefully changed the topic. He saw Loran hugging Sky and her red rims. "Hey, why were you guys making my sweet Sister-in-law cry? Are you asking for a beating?"

Finally, all broke into a smile seeing him pull his sleeves up preparing himself for battle against three men.
