Chapter 569 - Overprotective

The game went on and Arlo got Sky's name. All curiously looked at Sky including Arlo. But she didn't know what to do.

"Sister Sky! Give him something difficult." Loran said.

"Sky! Unleash your powers." Ryan said making others around them to chuckle.

"I don't know! what to ask or give" Sky said as she gave some work to her brain.

All started to boo Sky. Samara got up and asked to pick a different paper saying Sky would give him an easier one.

Sky sighed. Arlo got a girl name Sky didn't know. And the dare was 'Dance with me!'

Arlo gulped three shots without even thinking twice and went back to Sky. The latter was chuckling hard, "It was just a dance. I'm not so petty."

All gave thumbs up to Sky, "Loyal husband!"

The game continued on and Sky's name came for Loran. "Dance with me!"

Sky said went on stage before receiving a response. Loran had complained to her that he always danced with her and now she got Arlo. Hence she decided without caring for anything.

Loran was happy and both danced. Since Jai hardly danced, he enjoyed watching their performance.

Clark half-heartedly sang a duet with a lady elder than him. Jimmy gave a guitar performance which was by somebody. Maxwell danced with a beautiful girl.

Peter got a request to stand shirtless but Sky threatened him saying she would send his picture to Elina so he had to drink three shots.

For Sam, The girl who was sitting with Aileen gave a dare to dance with Sky to the song which they play. Everyone turned to the source and understood what was cooking in their minds.

Sam wanted to drink, Sky stopped him. "Such a spoilsport."

Sam flicked on her head, "Aren't you tired? You danced with Loran a few minutes back."

"Whatever! If you have a problem with the dare, go and drink." Sky glared at Sam.

Sam hooked her arms with his and took her on the floor, "Don't come to me if your husband gets jealous."

"Oh!" Sky turned to Arlo who had a gentle gaze on her. She understood he was fine with her choice.

As expected a romantic duet song started and both danced. Their coordination was always best hence Sky followed Sam's lead without any hitch.

Arlo who received a piece of paper with some content knew well who sent it, without seeing he crumpled and aimed it to the dustbin before speaking to Jai.

"Isn't it difficult to manage sports with central intelligence missions?"

Jai glanced at Arlo, "Finally you got to know!"

Arlo hardly got any information about Jai and after carefully watching his activities, his men identified, Jai was an undercover officer.

Arlo hummed.

"Why two?"

"For my little sister." Jai replied without hesitation looking at Sky moving on the floor.

Arlo was confused. Jai led him aside and both leaned on the railings facing the performance before Jai spoke.

"One to protect Sky, another one because she saved me from losing my arm knowing I wanted a career in sports or must be because she loved me too much that she didn't care about herself."

Arlo took a few seconds to analyze, "But you are in undercover before you got to know Sky was Harley."

Jai smiled and shook his head. "I got to know my little sister is Harley when she was twelve and a half years old."

That's eight years earlier than Sky got to know about her own identity. "Then you still managed to look after her as your sister. Didn't you lo..."

Jai cut him knowing what he wanted to ask, "If I love her as a woman, you never would have stood a chance. She was my little sister. She is and she will be my little sister."

Arlo nodded in understanding. "You always protected her, how come she protected you?"

Jai wasn't surprised by his question because Arlo only cared to talk about Sky. He gulped his juice, "Protect? It should be overprotective. My dumb sister doesn't care about herself when she has to protect others..."

-- Past --

The Barton family wasn't that well of a decade+ years back. The income of George was good enough for their expenditures and savings.

George's mother suddenly fell ill and was admitted to the hospital. They got to know she had a terminal disease. Once the treatment started every savings started to break. Eugene used up all his savings for his wife and followed by George.

During those times, Jai who was participating in under sixteen Badminton championship asked for a newly released sports kit. If his grandmother wasn't admitted and used up most of their savings, George would never say no to Jai.

But he declined Jai multiple times saying he didn't have money. Jai's few friends got their kits and showed off to Jai. The latter was pissed off and went to ask George again.

George was searching in his study for his bank account book when Jai asked again and was rejected.

Jai started to throw tantrum in the study as he was messing the things. His hands fell on a bank book which was in Sky's name. After checking the transaction he got to know George had opened an account in Sky's name and was depositing the money every month and never a penny was used from it.

Jai demanded to use that money and he would give back when he starts earning. But George took the passbook back and rejected him again.

George didn't want to use money from it. If he uses it once, he might get into the habit of using it again whenever required.

Jai was vexed even more. George ignored his fit as he continued his work. Jai rarely got outburst and would calm down after realizing it or after seeing Sky or Loran. But that day was different, his hand fell on an old doc.u.ment.

"Dad! She isn't my sister. She is some Harley. Did you adopt her? Since she isn't your daughter, use that money for my kit. I want the kit..."

George had kept it safe in the locker but he forgot to lock it back when he didn't get the required bank book. He took the doc.u.ment back from Jai. "What nonsense are you spouting? She is my daughter. Get lost from here."

George was mild-tempered man, hearing him scolding for the first time, Jai couldn't hold in anymore and started bluffing. "Dad! I will tell Little sis... that girl, she isn't my sister. She will go and you will get me the kit. I'm telling her to leave...."
