Chapter 463 - Sunset

Arlo wasn't angry at her. Instead, he was angry at himself. He had tried to make a conversation with her but she always ignored him mercilessly.

He asked in a low voice, "Sky! what is this?"

Sky raised her head and saw him looking at her, "I'm sorry! I thought it's sufficient for milk price and service charges."

By the end she finished, she kept one more note on the table and returned to go through a document on her laptop.

Sky noticed his hand moving towards her and leaned back on the couch without letting him touch her. Arlo wanted to have a talk with her face to face hence he wanted to pull her up.

Seeing her backing off, he went around the coffee table and sat next to her, "Can we talk?"

"Nope!" Sky replied straightforwardly and tried to go out but Arlo pulled her back to the couch as he made her face him.

"I know we had a bad start. Atle..." He couldn't get to finish his line.

Sky cut in, "Oh! You do know that. That's awesome."

"Can you please listen to me?" Arlo requested looking at her distant gaze.

Sky started to smile which was mocking him, "Please? So you know that word too. Sounds great."

Arlo never wanted this to happen between them. If being together or parting ways, he wanted it to be on good terms. If nothing happened to Olivia and she never told her wish, he would have proposed her on that day.

But he was already married to the one he wanted but nothing was right. She always chatted happily with him when they were out of office work, now she was sarcastic to everything whatever he did or said.

He never wanted to end up like this.

Sky looked at his dazed face and continued, "If you have used this tone on that day, I would have agreed to you without a second thought. Do you know? I always looked up to you because you are soo good at everything. You would answer my silliest questions to unfathomable questions without a single frown on your face. But I forgot that you are also a human being. You will also have your ups and downs but your way of handling things when you were down really made me wonder, did I trust a wrong person."

She didn't mock him or gave any sarcastic remark. her tone was soft and she didn't look cold. But her tone carried a hint of disappointment.

Thinking she may continue to speak, Sky closed her laptop and walked out of the room.

Arlo didn't stop her as he saw her going out. He felt a lump in his throat after hearing. He was suffocating as he analyzed each word she said.

She would have agreed to marry him if he had asked properly but he didn't ask. He decided and threw it on her as an order.

He knew she admired him and his patience but due to his harsh words, she was doubting herself for trusting him.

He remembered what David told him, 'Never break her trust'

He got up and dashed out. He didn't see her in the corridor. He checked Olivia's room where David and Olivia were talking.

Ryan was sitting in his temporary office room on the same floor. He ran towards the elevator and saw the number showed one of the elevators went to the terrace.

Without waiting for the elevator nor asking any guard he shot towards the terrace using stairs. He saw Sky standing on the helipad center and looking around as she stuffed her hands in pockets of her long jacket.

He felt she would fly off with a small blow of wind. He sighed and went to her as he removed his jacket.

After hearing footsteps, Sky glanced at him and wanted to leave but she didn't. She turned around and watched the busy city.

He put on his jacket on her shoulder. Seeing her trying to remove it, he kept his hands on her shoulder and turned her towards the west where they could see the sunset.

It wasn't that Sky never saw the sunset in the capital. But from their position, the sun was setting between two tall buildings. It looked very tiny between them.

Seeing her watching quietly, he removed his hands and stood next to her. An only small part of the sun was visible when he spoke, "I wish I could see sunrise and sunset every day with you."

Sky turned and saw his half-face which was a shade of orange due to sunset rays. His perfect features radiated more under it. She clenched her fist under a jacket as a heartbeat raised hearing what he said.

She didn't know how long she stood like that until he turned to her. As soon as his face starting to turn towards her, she turned towards the west. Sun had gone down, she could only see rays at the end.

'You are thinking too much.' Sky thought to herself and removed his jacket to give him.

He held her wrist seeing her leave. Sky turned to him and raised her brows.

"Can... Can't we be as before?" Arlo asked gingerly.

Sky looked at him and bit her lip not knowing how to answer. "I don't know. I need time."

After answering she again tried to leave, he held her back. He fought with his inner thoughts before giving words. "Don't judge me by that day."

Sky loosed his grip on her hand and faced him straight. "Brother Jai once told me, If a person is angry and his reaction will give away his true intentions. If he is very happy, never hold on to his words which don't hold value once his happiness is gone. If he is sad or in pain, whatever he does, he will do it in helplessness. I understand you were distressed and did all those."

After finishing, she left the rooftop and went inside. Arlo understood why Ryan said she deserves someone better than him. He also understood why Jai was the most important person to Sky.

He remembered the tab which had a video of the room. He went down and took out the tablet before going to the vacant room.

His hands trembled watching it. Since voice wasn't clear, he worked on his laptop for some time to extract the clear voice and watched it multiple times.
