After discussing things with Liu Wanjun, Shen Tiantian felt she had something to attend to. However, for several consecutive days, she couldn’t find the opportunity to talk to Shan Yi about buying baby supplies.

As usual, Shan Yi was the first to get out of bed.

Shen Tiantian, rarely waking up early, was still lazily nestled in the covers. With one hand supporting her head, her gaze was fixed on her beloved wife.

“Are you going to work?”

There was a hint of reluctance in her tone. Shen Tiantian hadn’t been to the company recently; she could only catch a glimpse in the morning, and the rest of the time was just a few hours for meals and sleep.

Suddenly, Shen Tiantian realized that Shan Yi was too busy.

Shan Yi put on a black skirt, walked over, and kissed her forehead, “Not going.”

“Really not going? Why?!” Shen Tiantian’s eyes quickly flashed a hint of surprise. She tried hard to suppress her excitement, but her joyful tone gave her away.

“Today is for a prenatal checkup.” Shan Yi had a playful expression and didn’t reveal her secret.

“…..” Oh, right, she had completely forgotten about this.

“Alright, since you’re awake, get up. Let’s go there earlier, and we can go to another place later.”

Shen Tiantian excitedly responded with a hearty “mm-hmm,” lifted the covers, got out of bed wearing her grass-green cotton slippers, and headed to the bathroom, humming a tune.

Shan Yi couldn’t help but smile wryly.

These past few days, she always felt that her wife had something to say to her. After a few days of probing, she found out she wants to buy clothes for the baby. Fortunately, there are still more than ten days of rest, and Shan Xu is holding the fort. The workload isn’t too heavy. Knowing that her wife has a prenatal checkup today, she had Assistant Yang arrange some time off long ago.

Seeing her wife happy, Shan Yi also raised a satisfied smile. Shen Tiantian, done with washing up, came out and hugged Shan Yi, giving her a kiss. “After the prenatal checkup, how about we go to the mall?”

“Sure, I’ll follow your lead.”

“My wife is really wonderful,” praised Shen Tiantian.

Upon hearing this term of endearment, Shan Yi rubbed her ear. “What did you call me?”

Shen Tiantian deliberately elongated her tone, “Wife~”

Shan Yi’s smile grew wider. “Can’t hear you.”

“Wife.” Knowing she was doing it on purpose, Shen Tiantian held her wife and showered her ear with delicate kisses. Annoyingly, she called out a few more times, “Wife, wife, wife~”

Only then was Shan Yi satisfied, embracing her and returning a few kisses. The couple exchanged kisses for almost half an hour, causing their lips to tingle. Shan Yi, feeling her body heating up, hurriedly put a stop to it.

She was on her period and didn’t dare to get too intimate with her wife, fearing it might exacerbate the situation.

Shen Tiantian changed her clothes and went downstairs. Not having to work, she wore a loose black maternity jumpsuit that subtly outlined the curve of her belly as she walked, making it evident that she was pregnant.

Mother Shan was arranging flowers in the living room and, upon seeing them come downstairs, quickly set down her scissors. “Going for a checkup today?”

“Yes,” nodded Shen Tiantian.

“Quick, have some breakfast…..”

“The medical checkup requires an empty stomach,” Shan Yi gently reminded from the side.

“Oh dear,” Mother Shan lightly tapped her own head, “Look at me, my mind is getting old, and I even made soup…..”

Shen Tiantian chuckled, “It’s fine; I can drink it when I come back in the afternoon.”

“Today, should we still have your little Aunt check you?” Mother Shan asked again.

Shen Tiantian nodded and said: “But it seems like Aunt has already returned to the hospital.”

Shan Yi knew that her little Aunt hadn’t come home last night, but she didn’t say anything. Her wife seemed overly concerned about Shan Yue, and her mother was quite inquisitive. Once mentioned, the prenatal checkup scheduled for the morning might have to be rescheduled.

“She’s probably busy at the hospital,” Mother Shan nodded in agreement.

“We’ll be going first,” Shan Yi interrupted them with a somewhat helpless expression.

“After the checkup, remember to eat immediately,” Mother Shan followed behind, reminding with concern.

“Got it.”

There were already quite a few people waiting at the hospital in the morning. Shan Yue was in consultation, and there were still two numbers ahead. Shen Tiantian and Shan Yi sat on chairs outside the consultation room, chatting quietly.

Next to them was a young couple; the man was gently touching the woman’s round belly, talking. It seemed they were expecting a child soon, and the young father was planning for their future.

Watching the happy couple, Shen Tiantian unconsciously took Shan Yi’s hand and placed it on her own belly, whispering softly in her ear, “Who do you hope our child will be like?”

Shan Yi replied, “Anyone is fine.”

“No, you have to choose one.”

“Then I hope they’re like you.” Having a big and a small wife to accompany oneself was simply delightful. Shen Tiantian chuckled lightly, “I also hope they’re like you.”

Shan Yi wasn’t surprised; she knew Shen Tiantian adored her. But being like her wasn’t a bad thing; this way, there would be two people to protect this silly person.

The couple next to them didn’t stay inside for long; when they came out, their smiles were even brighter than before.

Shan Yue removed her mask and, expressionlessly, said to them: “Alright, you can come in now.”

Shen Tiantian and her wife exchanged a glance; their usually serious little Aunt was quite stern at work.

After asking routine questions, Shan Yue began the ultrasound, her expression serious. “The baby is very healthy, but the infant’s head is a bit large. You should do more exercises regularly to prepare for childbirth.”

“What will happen if it’s too big?” Shan Yi frowned.

Shan Yue succinctly explained: “Difficult birth, and it’s Tiantian who will suffer the torment.”

Imagining the scene of not being able to give birth, Shen Tiantian couldn’t help but shiver. “What should we do?”

“I recommend doing prenatal yoga,” Shan Yue said: “If you don’t want to go out, your home is spacious. Walking a few laps in the backyard is also good.”

Prenatal yoga? Shan Yi silently noted it in her mind.

Shen Tiantian glanced at Shan Yi. It was partly their fault for spoiling her too much, and partly her fault for being too indulgent.

Shan Yue handed them the A4 paper printed from the printer. “Here, take a look at your child.”

Shen Tiantian took it with some excitement, looking at the small dark shadow on it, just a bit larger than her thumb. Tenderness welled up in her eyes.

“It’s a bit bigger than last month,” Shan Yi was also somewhat moved, poking the image with her fingertip. “Is this the nose?”

The baby was curled up on its side, a bit blurry, but the shape of the nose could be vaguely seen.

Shan Yue leaned over for a glance, confirming their thoughts. “Alright, you both haven’t eaten yet, right? Fill your stomachs first; the baby shouldn’t be hungry.”

“Thank you, little Aunt,” Shen Tiantian said softly: “Would you like to join us, little Aunt?”

Shan Yue showed her first smile of the day. “Although I’d really like to, I still have work.”

Shen Tiantian expressed understanding. More people would likely arrive soon, and for those in the medical profession, unless they changed shifts, they couldn’t casually leave their posts.

Carefully putting the baby’s photo into her bag, Shen Tiantian and Shan Yi bid farewell to Shan Yue. They found a nearby fast-food restaurant.

Shen Tiantian ordered a vegetable soup and a rice bowl.

Shan Yi flipped through the menu, ultimately choosing the same set meal as her wife. She rarely ate fast food. Even during her time studying abroad when she couldn’t cook, she preferred to make simple dishes like boiled eggs and noodles rather than resort to supermarket-bought frozen fast food.

This was her first time trying a rice bowl.

Looking at the not particularly aesthetically pleasing colors, it unexpectedly made her mouth water.

Shen Tiantian took a sip of the meat and vegetable soup. “Is this your first time trying this kind of thing, CEO?”

Shan Yi nodded.

Shen Tiantian chattered non-stop about past events, and she continued talking even after finishing the meal. Shan Yi silently listened.

After the meal, Shen Tiantian, contentedly rubbing her belly, headed out.

They were supposed to go to the mall, but Shan Yi said: “Let’s go somewhere else first.”

Although a bit puzzled, Shen Tiantian didn’t ask much. After all, it was still early, and you couldn’t spend the whole afternoon at the mall.

The car stopped in front of a shop with a chic facade. From a distance, it wasn’t clear what it was, and there were no visible displays or signs.

Upon entering, she realized it was a postpartum care center.

She tugged at Shan Yi’s hand, “Why are we coming here?”

Shan Yi said: “I’m afraid you’ll get tired. Let’s buy a postpartum care package, and they can prepare everything for us.”

“I’m not tired at all,” Shen Tiantian frowned.

But after thinking about it, although she really wanted to personally buy these things, she knew Shan Yi was busy. It was already good enough that she could take time out each month to accompany her for the checkups. Plus, she was sure Shan Yi would choose the best.

“Wanjun and the others also purchased a package from this postpartum care center,” Shan Yi explained gently: “But we still need to buy some things. We’re going to the mall later, right?”

Shen Tiantian was a bit surprised. Wanjun didn’t mention it to her.

“Okay, sure,” she obediently nodded.

At this moment, someone came to greet them, warmly inviting them to sit down. Their smiles were so enthusiastic, showcasing all eight of their teeth and giving the impression that their faces were about to widen with the smile.

Shen Tiantian suddenly chuckled, feeling a bit mischievous.

The service attendant explained the package prices and included services, and from the very beginning, Shen Tiantian was stunned. Only one word lingered in her mind—expensive.

The lowest-priced package was 380,000 RMB?!

But considering they were using imported goods, this price was considered average. Shen Tiantian, of course, wanted to provide the best for her baby.

“How about it?” Shan Yi asked.

Shen Tiantian wrestled with her thoughts countless times. Eventually, she set aside her own purchasing ideas and, gritting her teeth, pointed to the 680,000 RMB package: “I think this one is good.”

Because the package included a newborn photoshoot, Shen Tiantian wanted to capture the beautiful moment when her daughter was born.

Shan Yi readily agreed: “Then, let’s go with this one.”

The act of talking about it didn’t make Shen Tiantian feel heartbroken. However, when she signed the contract and paid, she felt a pang of pain. It was the first time she realized that raising a child could be really expensive.

Shan Yi found it amusing and pinched her cheek: “Why this expression?”

Shen Tiantian: …..

Were wealthy people really so nonchalant about swiping their cards?!

“Alright, let’s go to the mall now,” Shan Yi said, embracing her waist: “We’ll pick out the baby’s crib ourselves.”

“No need,” Shen Tiantian remembered that the package already included a crib.

The package included ten sets of baby clothes, a special photoshoot for the baby, a baby crib, three cans of imported formula, maternity-specific diapers, and more. In short, they practically didn’t need to buy anything else.

When they calculated each item separately, the prices seemed reasonably acceptable.

“How about heading home?”

Having gone out for a rare occasion, Shen Tiantian didn’t want to go back so soon. Shan Yi had to work tomorrow, and she quickly grabbed her hand. “No…..”

Shan Yi smiled: “Then where do you want to go?”

“Let’s go on a date,” Shen Tiantian urged: “We haven’t had a date in a long time.”

Shan Yi’s expression dimmed.

Sensing it, Shen Tiantian asked, “Are you not happy?”

“How could I be? Today is all up to you.”

She just felt like she had neglected her wife a bit. Being stuck at home every day could lead to overthinking, especially during this special time.

“Do you want to accompany me to work tomorrow?” Shan Yi asked.

Shen Tiantian was taken aback and shook her head.
