Shen Tiantian had set her expectations for the Shan family too high, which was probably why she was so nervous, right?!

Shan Yi sighed and cupped her face in her hands, placing a gentle kiss under her eyes. “We’re getting married soon. We’ll be facing each other day and night. You can’t stay so nervous all the time.”

She was met with a light kiss in response. Shen Tiantian rarely initiated such actions, so Shan Yi was pleasantly surprised, and then relieved, as it indicated that she took her words to heart.

“Let’s go home,” Shan Yi said.

Shen Tiantian couldn’t help but give a wry smile. How many times did she have to say it? Shouldn’t they just go inside?

Holding hands, they entered the house. Mother Shan was waiting in the living room and immediately put on a smile when she saw them return, gesturing for them to take a seat.

It’s great that mother Shan isn’t angry. Shen Tiantian felt relieved.

At this moment, Shan Yue was also there, with one leg crossed and leaning against the back of the sofa. With one hand supporting her chin, her gaze seemed distant, as if she were looking at something far away. It was unclear what she was thinking, and she didn’t even react when Shen Tiantian sat down beside her.

Shen Tiantian tugged at Shan Yi’s clothes and winked at her.

Shan Yi shrugged, “She’s probably going through puberty.”

Shen Tiantian: …

Without dwelling on it too much, mother Shan spoke up, “Are you both on vacation these days?”

Shan Yi nodded: “What’s up?”

“Taking a break is good,” Mother Shan said. “Tiantian, you don’t need to go back for these days. Mom will prepare some nourishing food for you. Look how thin you’ve become.”

If possible, she hoped they would move back in. She didn’t say those words again, though. Her husband had already mentioned it – don’t put too much pressure on them.

Gently touching her now slightly rounder face, Shen Tiantian was a bit surprised. Mother Shan thought she was thin?

Shan Yi also pinched her face. Over the past month, Shen Tiantian had gained some weight, especially in her belly and face. However, in the eyes of the elders, someone pregnant like Shen Tiantian, with her body type, did indeed look a bit thin.

Shen Tiantian looked innocently at Shan Yi, using her eyes to ask for her opinion.

“I got it,” her expression conveyed her agreement.

Mother Shan became instantly delighted. “Great! Let me check if the soup is ready in the kitchen.”

Another soup?!

Recalling the black chicken soup she had for lunch, Shen Tiantian licked her lips in remembrance. Although she hadn’t tasted other dishes made by mother Shan, judging from the soup alone, her cooking skills seemed decent. Also, the CEO had mentioned that mother Shan occasionally cooked at home, with her as the sous-chef.

Being closest to her, Shan Yi caught her hungry expression and chuckled. “Is Mom’s soup delicious?”

“Delicious,” she replied without hesitation.

“Then are you not planning to tell Mom that you’re willing to move back in?”

“Let’s talk about it in a few days,” Shen Tiantian weakly answered.

“Whatever you say.”

Maintaining the face-pinching posture, Shan Yi lowered her head and planted a kiss on her slightly parted lips.

Setting aside the fact that they were in Shan’s house and someone was nearby, Shen Tiantian struggled and pushed her away, whispering: “Dr. Shan is still here.”

“You guys continue, pretend I don’t exist.” Just then, Shan Yue, who had been lost in thought for a while, spoke up. She maintained her original posture and expression, speaking emotionlessly.

Shen Tiantian: …

Shan Yi: …

Glancing at her with a slightly annoyed look, Shen Tiantian shifted closer to Shan Yue. “Dr. Shan, are you okay?”

“Not dead,” Shan Yue replied.

Shen Tiantian choked on her words, suddenly not knowing what to say.

“It’s springtime hormonal changes. Sister-in-law, you better not provoke her,” Shan Xu, who appeared out of nowhere, commented.

Shan Yue gave him a cold look. “Get lost.”

Shan Xu clicked his tongue and ignored her cold demeanor, plopping down on a cushion.

Looking at them, Shen Tiantian smiled. She could imagine what the future days would be like.

“Xiao Yi,” Shan Yue remained in her original posture, “Is your company still hiring? Can I resign and work at your company?”

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone present turned their gaze towards Shan Yue, all displaying surprise. Shan Xu was even more shocked. Wasn’t she someone who disliked the cutthroat competition in the business world? Moreover, she was an obstetrician and gynecologist – switching to business was a huge leap, not to mention that it was a completely unrelated field.

Shan Yi’s initial reaction was also astonished. She wondered if she had experienced some sort of shock.

The siblings exchanged a glance. This was far from being just springtime hormonal changes.

Shen Tiantian scratched her ear; she couldn’t figure it out either.

Seeing that everyone was silent, Shan Yue finally moved and turned her head to look at them. “I was just kidding, you guys look so clueless.”

Her remark was met with continued silence.

After muttering something uninteresting under her breath, Shan Yue got up and went upstairs.

Only when Shan Yue’s figure disappeared around the corner of the staircase did Shan Xu slowly withdraw his gaze and turn to Shan Yi, asking: “What triggered this in her?”

“You should ask her,” Shan Yi said in a flat tone.

Shan Xu: …

Was his aunt going crazy? Joking?! Did she not realize that she had never made such a joke in all the years she had been a doctor?

Sandwiched in between them, Shen Tiantian didn’t know what to say and could only listen to their conversation.

Mother Shan’s voice timely came, interrupting their conversation and reminding them to come over for dinner. “Xiao Xu, go call your father…and where’s Xiao Yue? Xiao Yi, you go get your little aunt.”

“She just went upstairs. Let the servant bring something up for her,” Shan Yi said, leading Shen Tiantian into the dining room and considerately pulling out a chair for her.

At these words, a touch of gossipy expression suddenly appeared on mother Shan’s face. “Xiao Yue seems to be experiencing a subtle romance lately. She always appears absent-minded. Keep an eye on her, okay?”

Shan Yi was amused and exasperated. “So I should go to the hospital to keep an eye on her?”

Mother Shan glared at her. “You’re of a similar age, you can talk with her. If I ask, she definitely won’t tell me.”

“Oh,” Shan Yi responded casually.

Mother Shan seemed like she wanted to say more, but caught sight of her husband’s figure and immediately closed her mouth.

Shen Tiantian: …

Even though she acts stern, it seemed that mother Shan was quite wary of father Shan. She should probably use a more respectful tone in her speech.

Shen Tiantian smiled and took the initiative to greet father Shan.

“Home is not the company, there’s no need to be so formal,” Father Shan corrected with a tone that bridged the gap between calling his wife ‘Mom’ and addressing him as the ‘Chairman’. That wouldn’t do.

Perhaps realizing that he had frightened people earlier in the morning, father Shan’s expression was less severe now. Mother Shan nodded in agreement.

“Alright, Chairman.”

“Since we’ve already said no need to be formal, just call him ‘Father Shan’ like you would call Mom,” Shan Yi interjected from the side.

Shen Tiantian was startled, nearly throwing her chopsticks in surprise. Fortunately, she managed to stop herself and nodded, “Okay.”

Father Shan looked at her with some anticipation. Seeing that she wasn’t planning to call him as suggested, he said: “Let’s start eating.”

The head of the family had spoken, and everyone at the table picked up their chopsticks. Like at lunch, Shen Tiantian didn’t need to pick up any dishes; her bowl was already filled, a result of mother Shan’s affection. Although it felt like she might throw up from eating too much, she gritted her teeth and finished everything in her bowl.

After struggling to finish all the food in her bowl, Shen Tiantian let out a sigh of relief. She was about to put down her chopsticks when Mother Shan picked up a piece of beef and placed it in her bowl.

Shen Tiantian was on the verge of tears. “I-I can’t eat anymore.”

Seeing her discomfort, Shan Yi knew she didn’t want to waste her mother’s kindness. However, if she couldn’t eat more, she simply couldn’t. Knowing there was another meal coming, Shan Yi patted her on the back with one hand and used the other to transfer the beef from Shen Tiantian’s bowl to her own. “It’s okay, I’ll eat it.”

Shen Tiantian sent her a grateful look. The CEO was truly wonderful.

“Eating so little makes you full?” Mother Shan said in disbelief. “You’re eating for two now. How can you eat so little? When I was pregnant with Xiao Yi, I had to eat six meals a day, strong and powerful.”

“Not everyone can eat like you,” Father Shan couldn’t help but interject.

Even though she felt like she might vomit, hearing Father Shan’s words made her want to laugh. It’s true that every family has their own dynamics, and even a serious chairman has a humorous side.

Mother Shan shot her husband a resentful look but didn’t argue back. Back then, she indeed ate more than the average pregnant woman.

“How about having some soup then?” Mother Shan asked again.

The soup wasn’t fully flavored just now, but she thought it should be ready by now. With that, Mother Shan got up and headed to the kitchen.

The speed was so swift that Shen Tiantian’s attempt to stop it was already too late.

“Don’t want to drink?” Shan Yi looked at her.

Shen Tiantian rubbed her chest and nodded, “I feel a bit nauseous…”

Shan Yi frowned, “Then don’t drink it.”

“But…”

“No ‘buts,'” Shan Yi interrupted her, “Don’t force yourself.”

Shen Tiantian obediently closed her mouth.

“We’re full, Dad, take your time eating,” Shan Yi said, already pulling Shen Tiantian up. Just as she turned around, she saw Mother Shan approaching with a bowl of soup.

A strong aroma of chicken soup rushed into their noses. Suddenly, a wave of nausea surged in Shen Tiantian’s stomach. She panicked and tightly grabbed Shan Yi’s hand, “Where’s the bathroom…”

Seeing her condition, it was clear she was about to vomit. Shan Yi quickly led her towards the bathroom.

“What’s going on?” Mother Shan was puzzled.

Shan Yi didn’t have time to respond before the bathroom door slammed shut with a bang.

With a retching sound, Shen Tiantian immediately vomited out the dinner she had just eaten and hadn’t had time to digest. She didn’t mind the burning sensation in her throat, clutching her chest, she couldn’t stop vomiting, only slowing down when there was nothing left to come out.

“How are you feeling? Are you a bit better?” Shan Yi looked worried, regretting not stopping her mother from serving Shen Tiantian so much food and not preventing her from overeating.

Shen Tiantian rinsed her mouth a few times before forcing a weak smile to indicate that she was okay.

A knock on the door sounded from outside, and Mother Shan’s voice followed, “Tiantian, are you okay? Open the door and let your little aunt have a look.”

Shan Yi sighed helplessly and opened the door.

With her hands in the back pockets of her straight-leg pants, Shan Yue glanced at them expressionlessly, “Did you eat too much?”

Shen Tiantian nodded, feeling a bit embarrassed. Mother Shan looked guilty and hung her head, but Shan Yue ignored both of them and walked away.

She wasn’t in the mood to scold anyone right now.

The sky outside the window gradually darkened, and after being scolded by her husband, Mother Shan seemed to understand her mistake. She softly apologized to Shen Tiantian.

Her intentions were good, but excess can have a counterproductive effect.

Shen Tiantian couldn’t shake off the lingering guilt as Shan Yi brought her back to their room. Shan Yi suddenly pushed her onto the bed, leaned over, and kissed her fiercely.

“You couldn’t refuse when you couldn’t eat?” Shan Yi said, then as if in punishment, lightly bit her lower lip.

“I thought I could handle it,” Shen Tiantian pouted, looking aggrieved.

“If you dare again, I’ll bite you,” Shan Yi teased.

Shen Tiantian pouted even more and scolded: “Your way of punishing people is so strange.”

Shan Yi fell silent for a moment. Her long fingers trailed downward, pinching the part of her with the most flesh, her gaze dangerous as she said: “How about I choose a different one?”

“Ah!” Shen Tiantian let out a yelp, instantly backing down. “No, don’t, I was wrong.”

“Too late.” Shan Yi smirked and playfully attacked her chest.

After the bout of nausea had passed, Shen Tiantian felt better and regained her energy. She started fooling around with Shan Yi on the bed, their playful laughter filling the room completely.
