‘Yesterday, I really shouldn’t have gotten carried away.’ Shen Tiantian was still thinking about it while having breakfast. It was just that she stayed up a little late, and she didn’t expect to oversleep like this. There was no one else to blame but herself.

She stabbed a piece of sausage and chewed it fiercely, tilting her head, feeling self-reproachful. As Shan Yi was cutting chicken for her, she glanced at Shen Tiantian and reminded her: “You’ll break your teeth like this.”

“What?” Unexpectedly, Shen Tiantian couldn’t react in time.

Shan Yi pushed the plate with the cut chicken towards her and said with a smile, “What are you thinking? You’re eating so vigorously.”

Shen Tiantian was momentarily stunned, then quickly shook her head, “Nothing.”

Shan Yi didn’t continue to ask, and looked at the mess in the room. “Why don’t you text Shan Xu and ask him to come over and play?”

Shen Tiantian rubbed her nose. It was obvious why she suddenly wanted Shan Xu to come over. She chuckled softly, “You really are naughty.”

Shan Yi laughed too, “Let’s go shopping in the afternoon.”

“It’s not a good idea. Let’s clean up ourselves. Shan Xu is probably working today,” Shen Tiantian disagreed, shaking her head.

Shan Yi pursed her lips and put her hair up in a high ponytail. “Alright, I was just joking. How could I bear to let him come to our little home?”

Shen Tiantian:…

She didn’t mean it like that.

“Can we not dismantle the balloons for now?” Shen Tiantian suddenly said.

Shan Yi raised an eyebrow, smiling, but she declined, “The smell of indoor balloons lingers for a long time, and it’s not good for pregnant women to smell them too much.”

Shen Tiantian pouted and rubbed her belly, “Alright.”

For the sake of the baby, she endured it.

Shan Yi’s way of taking down the balloons was simple and rough. She used a needle to pop the balloons and then pulled down the remaining pieces one by one. Soon, all the balloons on the wall were gone, and it returned to its original state.

Shen Tiantian was stunned, even the sausage she was biting almost fell out of her mouth. Was the woman in front of her really the cool and aloof goddess she was infatuated with?!

Too… rough.

Oh no, her ‘woman power’ was just too high.

Shan Yi was amused by Shen Tiantian’s adorable appearance and burst into laughter, “When I was studying abroad, I did many things by myself. I tried to make things easier whenever possible. I even changed light bulbs myself. Sometimes, I was afraid I might get electrocuted.”

“Pei, pei, pei! Spit and say it again,” Shen Tiantian said in a frustrated manner.

Shan Yi continued to laugh, “It’s okay, now I have you.”

It wasn’t the first time Shen Tiantian heard Shan Yi talk about her experiences, and every time she couldn’t help but marvel at it. What kind of environment shaped such a perfect Shan Yi, who happened to like her and was also the mother of her child?

Perhaps, all her luck for the past twenty-plus years had been used up on this.

Shen Tiantian swallowed the last bite of sausage and finished the four pieces of egg with milk. She walked over and looked up at the balloons on the ceiling, feeling a bit troubled, “How do we get the balloons on the ceiling down?”

Proposing feels delightful in the moment, but then you have to deal with the aftermath.

She didn’t know why, but suddenly this sentence popped into Shen Tiantian’s mind, and it made her laugh.

Seeing her laughing alone, Shan Yi couldn’t help but ask with a smile, “What did you think of again?”

Shen Tiantian covered her mouth and said with a mischievous smile: “I’m not telling you.”

Shan Yi clicked her tongue, put down the remains of the balloons in her hands, and approached her with a mischievous look.

Shen Tiantian held onto the chair in front of her and playfully warned her: “If you mess with me again, I’ll let you handle it yourself.”

“I never planned to ask for your help,” Shan Yi rubbed her wrist and twisted her neck, “I don’t trust you to do it.”

Shen Tiantian screamed and fell into Shan Yi’s arms, but she didn’t struggle, continuing to threaten: “I’ll tell Auntie you bullied me.”

Shan Yi couldn’t hold back any longer and burst into laughter: “Did you forget that  she’s my mom?”

Although her mother would definitely take Shen Tiantian’s side at this moment.

Shen Tiantian immediately surrendered, “I give up.”

Shan Yi cheered but still tickled her.

“Hey!!” Shen Tiantian called out with laughter.

“Alright, just sit there, I’ll handle it,” Shan Yi said.

Shen Tiantian frowned slightly. As a partner, when her lover was busy, how could she just stand by without helping? First of all, she felt guilty about it.

Shan Yi seemed to understand her thoughts and said: “Go find a vase and arrange the roses in it.”

Following her gaze, Shen Tiantian looked at the roses lying there since last night, feeling a little embarrassed.

It took Shen Tiantian more than ten minutes just to find a vase, by which time Shan Yi had already dealt with the balloons on the ceiling. She had torn them down from the chair she had only sat on last night, popped them, and now there was a spectacular mess of red, yellow, green, and white all over the floor.

Shen Tiantian brought the scissors and trimmed the flower stems carefully before inserting them into the vase. Some of the flowers at the bottom were a bit wilted, but it wasn’t very noticeable in the middle.

By the time they finished dealing with everything, it was almost 2 o’clock. They had been active for a while, and activity tends to make one hungry. They had breakfast at 10 and were already hungry by 1.

Shan Yi was hungrier from the greater activity, and she didn’t feel like cooking, so she suggested: “Let’s eat out today.”

“I was thinking the same,” Shen Tiantian nodded and suddenly wrapped her arms around Shan Yi’s neck, kissed her lips, and whispered: “You’ve worked hard.”

Shan Yi smiled, “If you can be this proactive every day, it’s worth all the hard work.”

Here it came again.

Shen Tiantian snorted, “You’re getting carried away again.”

Shan Yi quickly pecked her lips too, “Really.”

“Alright, let’s tidy up and go out. Take out the trash too,” Shen Tiantian urged her without any particular reason, just feeling a little flustered.

“Kiss me again.”

Shen Tiantian gave her a shy and annoyed glance. This person always liked teasing her with these things.

But love is a two-way street, and since Shan Yi spoiled her, she naturally had to spoil her back. So she indulged her and leaned in for another kiss.

Shan Yi finally satisfied, released her, dusted off the dust from her clothes, and casually asked what she wanted to eat.

Shen Tiantian thought for a moment and threw the question back at her.

During this time, Shan Yi had always adapted to her eating habits and hadn’t seen her order anything she liked, which made her feel a little guilty.

She had overlooked too much.

Shan Yi seemed to sense her thoughts and rubbed her face gently, saying in a deep voice: “So, you will listen to me today?”

Shen Tiantian nodded.

Shan Yi had always been the one putting in effort, which allowed her to understand her motives, and although Shan Yi was very genuine, Shen Tiantian still felt like she couldn’t completely figure her out. That was because she had never truly understood her.

They changed their clothes, and Shan Yi took her to the city center, to the Italian restaurant they often visited.

Italy is a romantic country.

Shan Yi had been there for academic exchanges and said that while it was romantic, she might not go there again.

She mentioned that there were pigeons everywhere, fearlessly roaming the streets, which was a bit disturbing. In winter, many pigeons starved to death on the streets, and you could encounter several stiff, dead white pigeon bodies just laying around.

The year Shan Yi went to Italy, it happened to be winter. A pigeon landed on the window of the hotel she was staying in, skinny and small, with a short remaining lifespan. Out of compassion, she quietly took it in and cared for it in the hotel for a few days until the hotel owner found out and advised her not to do it.

Shan Yi knew that the pigeon population in that area multiplied rapidly, so the country had measures in place to control their numbers and didn’t allow people to feed them. However, the pigeon she cared for eventually left healthily. She still remembered that the pigeon stayed on the power line for a long time, looking towards her window.

That was her most unforgettable memory.

Shen Tiantian listened silently and, somehow, when she heard about the pigeon not wanting to leave, she suddenly felt like crying.

“If you want to go, after the baby is born, we can go take a look?” Shan Yi suddenly suggested.

Shen Tiantian sniffed and shook her head repeatedly. She couldn’t bear to see those small animals die in front of her eyes. Even though she had drunk pigeon soup just yesterday, it was somewhat ironic, but it also perfectly highlighted how insignificant they were in front of humans.

Shan Yi smiled lightly, “Taste it.”

As she spoke, the pastries they ordered arrived. Shan Yi used her fork to cut a small piece of tiramisu and held it up to Shen Tiantian’s lips.

Shen Tiantian didn’t think much and took the fork, only realizing after she had lifted it to her mouth that it was Shan Yi’s fork. Instantly, her face turned red, and she kept her head down, not saying anything.

Instead of teasing her, Shan Yi looked serious and cut another small piece for herself, eating it.

“It’s so sweet,” she said.

Shen Tiantian: …

Shan Yi chuckled lightly, lowered her head, and continued to eat quietly.

Shen Tiantian snorted lightly. Shan Yi was obviously pretending to be a glutton, imitating her carefree manner while focusing on eating the tiramisu in front of her. When the other dishes arrived, her attention was instantly drawn to them, and she couldn’t help but salivate, licking her lips.

Spaghetti was her first choice, and she should have been full after eating it, but all the other dishes looked good, so she tried them all. By the time she came back to her senses, she had accidentally overeaten and lazily refused to move from her seat.

Shan Yi was amused and settled the bill. She then accompanied her to rest for a while, saying: “If you like the food, we can come back again. But eating like this will make you sick.”

The person being scolded rubbed her bloated stomach and laughed foolishly.

She didn’t know when the next time would be.

Shan Yi crossed over to her side of the table, making her more comfortable. Their location wasn’t a private room, and there were occasional passersby next to them. Almost everyone who saw Shan Yi would give her a second glance. At first, Shen Tiantian felt a little embarrassed, but seeing everyone looking at her girlfriend, possessiveness surged within her, and she leaned in closer.

Shan Yi noticed her little mood and smiled contentedly.

She glanced around and suggested, “Let’s take a walk and digest a bit.”

Shen Tiantian was feeling less uncomfortable now and agreed with a sound, taking the initiative to hold her partner’s hand.

Upstairs was a mall, where there were many imported snacks. Shan Yi pushed a shopping cart and took two bags of each snack.

Shen Tiantian was stunned, so much so that she didn’t have time to stop her. When she came back to her senses, the shopping cart was already full, all in less than two minutes.

“Why did you buy so many snacks?!” she exclaimed.

Shan Yi remained composed and said: “Just trying to win over the kids and the dean, so that he’ll marry you to me faster.”

Shen Tiantian almost fell over, she laughed and scolded, “You’re crazy.”

Despite the teasing, Shen Tiantian was actually touched.

Shan Yi had never once looked down on her, and now she even thought about the kids. How could she not be touched?

Shan Yi smiled and said nothing, then grabbed a basket and filled it before heading to the checkout.

When they left the mall, they had four large bags, all filled with snacks.

After putting the things back into the car, they went to another mall, where they bought wine and clothes for the dean, as if preparing for a bride returning to her family after getting married.

Shen Tiantian was both angry and touched.

But in her heart, she was also looking forward to tomorrow’s meeting.
