Shen Tiantian didn’t think too much. Suddenly, Shan Yi flipped over, and the phone lost its support completely. With a click, the screen was instantly replaced by a white color.

After thinking for a while but was unable to remember, Shen Tiantian gave up.

Shen Tiantian yawned silently, and two drops of tears squeezed out from the corners of her eyes. She was also a bit tired.

After ending the video call on her own initiative, Shen Tiantian turned on the music again and didn’t turn it off. She even downloaded a dozen or so similar prenatal education music tracks. When the download was complete, she placed her phone next to the pillow, intending to sleep while listening to it. However, she thought about the radiation from the phone, so she moved it a bit further away.

Soft music has a sleep-inducing effect, and Shen Tiantian gradually fell into dreamland amidst the distant sounds of music.

The next day, she went through the usual morning of vomiting.

After finally finishing her morning routine, the feeling of emptiness in her stomach returned. She caught sight of the preserved plums on the short table out of the corner of her eye and stuffed one into her mouth without hesitation.

The nausea wasn’t as intense, but she started feeling weak.

Shen Tiantian felt a bit mentally exhausted. How could being pregnant feel like getting sick, with new problems arising from time to time?

She searched online and found out that these were all normal reactions. Seeing that these reactions would last for at least two more months, she felt a bit overwhelmed.

It wasn’t particularly cold today, but Shen Tiantian still wore a coat. She walked past a colleague wearing a skirt, and the scene looked a bit funny.

After putting down her bag, Shen Tiantian went to the pantry and cleared out all the coffee and black tea in her cabinet that contained even the slightest harmful substance for the child.

Ever since she decided to keep the baby yesterday, she had begun to learn to protect it in every possible way.

She had originally planned to throw these things away, but suddenly remembered that Lu Xiaochun had said that the black tea she bought last time was delicious, so she stopped her actions.

She packed them in a bag and took them back to the office. Approaching Lu Xiaochun, she whispered, “Didn’t you say the black tea was delicious last time? There’s still more than half left. Do you want it? “

“Eh?!” Lu Xiaochun was a little surprised and couldn’t figure out why she suddenly wanted to give it away. “Why?”

Shen Tiantian choked for a moment. She couldn’t tell her that she was pregnant, so she said, “I haven’t been feeling well lately, and the doctor told me not to consume cold things.”

After hearing her explanation, Lu Xiaochun didn’t doubt it too much and happily took the bag. “Well, then I won’t be polite.”

Fortunately, Lu Xiaochun didn’t mind. Shen Tiantian smiled and said. “You’re welcome.”

Lu Xiaochun rummaged through the bag and saw that there were quite a few things, feeling a bit embarrassed. “Are you really sure you don’t want any of these?”

“Yeah, I won’t drink them.”

After thinking for a moment, Lu Xiaochun smiled and said, “It’s okay, I’ll drink them slowly. Whenever you’re better, feel free to take them back.”

“There’s no need. I’ll just buy more when the time comes.” After all, with her symptoms, she would have to avoid these things for at least a year.

Lu Xiaochun acted as if she didn’t hear that and expressed her concern, “You took a day off yesterday too. How’s your health?”

“It’s nothing serious.” Shen Tiantian smiled lightly. “I’ll go back to work first. Don’t worry and drink it, you really don’t need to leave it for me.”

Lu Xiaochun shrugged, neatly placed the items into the bag, and quickly focused back on her work.

When she got off work, Lu Xiaochun went over and asked her if she wanted to go out for lunch together.

She was still in a sensitive period, but considering that she rarely vomited during the day, she agreed.

There were still not many people on the seventh floor, and there were still several vacant seats.

Shen Tiantian mostly ordered vegetarian dishes: a vegetable salad, bean sprout soup, and the only meat was a few pieces of sweet and sour pork ribs.

Lu Xiaochun looked at her in disbelief, “Is that all you’re eating?”

Shen Tiantian nodded.  She usually ate this much. Was there something wrong?!

“No, you need to eat more.” Lu Xiaochun pushed her own dish closer and forcefully put some meat into Shen Tiantian’s bowl. “You’ve been losing weight lately.”

Looking at the quickly piling bowl, Shen Tiantian was moved. There was a moment when she really wanted to tell Lu Xiaochun, but the words swallowed back down her throat.

The smell of the beef was a bit strong, and Shen Tiantian frowned, suppressing the urge to vomit as she said, “Thank you, Xiaochun, but you should eat it yourself.”

“What’s wrong with you? Your complexion looks terrible,” Lu Xiaochun said, looking puzzled.

Shen Tiantian shook her head apologetically, “It’s nothing, I just can’t eat beef right now.”

Lu Xiaochun lowered her head with some disappointment, feeling like she had done something wrong despite her good intentions.

“Sorry, I need to go to the restroom,” Shen Tiantian said as she got up. As she passed by Lu Xiaochun, she patted her shoulder.

Not being able to smell the odor of beef, Shen Tiantian felt her breathing become much easier. However, the nauseous feeling was still stuck in her throat, and she went to the restroom on the seventh floor, unable to suppress the urge to vomit.

She cupped her hands to rinse her mouth and, as she lifted her head, she happened to see Manager Tian looking at her suspiciously.

Shen Tiantian was startled, almost choking on her own saliva.

Manager Tian quickly concealed the scrutinizing look and asked expressionlessly, “Are you okay?”

Shen Tiantian hesitated and nodded. She had no idea how long Manager Tian had been observing her or if any suspicion had arisen. Manager Tian was the only person in the company who knew about her relationship with the CEO. If it was discovered that she was pregnant, she didn’t know what Manager Tian would think.

Manager Tian made a sound of acknowledgment but didn’t say anything else. She went on to wash her hands with hot water and then took some tissues to wipe the stain on her chest.

Only then did Shen Tiantian notice the large stain on her chest and couldn’t help but ask.

“I was bumped into on my way down,” Manager Tian casually explained.

Shen Tiantian awkwardly chuckled. It seemed that she and Manager Tian were not suitable for casual conversations. “Then I’ll go out first.”

“Mm,” Manager Tian replied with a cold tone.

Shen Tiantian didn’t say anything else, turned around, and left the restroom, praying in her heart that Manager Tian hadn’t seen anything.

Perhaps it was because she had vomited or because she was startled by Manager Tian, but Shen Tiantian suddenly had some appetite. She quickly finished the salad and ate almost half a bowl of rice with the meat soup.

Shen Tiantian chatted with Lu Xiaochun and returned to the office before one o ‘clock. Shen Tiantian yawned and tried to make use of the time for a nap.

She was very sleepy now, almost dozing off as soon as she laid down.

Just as she had fallen asleep, a sudden and urgent ringing echoed in the quiet office, startling her. Upon careful listening, she realized it was her phone ringing.

It was Kang Jiaya calling, and she quickly answered the call.

As soon as the call connected, Kang Jiaya’s voice immediately came through from the other end, “Tiantian, have you finished work?”

“Yeah, I was just about to take a nap,” Shen Tiantian paused, seemingly realizing something, and exclaimed with delight, “You’re back in the country!”

“You’re so smart,” Kang Jiaya said, “I’m still at the airport. I’ll go home and rest for a while, then I’ll pick you up after work with Wanjun in the evening.”

Shen Tiantian’s drowsiness vanished, “Okay.”

It had been a month since they hastily parted at Liu Wanjun’s wedding, and although they chatted every day, she really missed Kang Jiaya.

“Okay, talk to you later. See you tonight.”

Shen Tiantian made a sound of agreement, cautioned her to be careful on the way, and ended the call. She was already looking forward to their meeting tonight.

When you have someone to meet, time seems to pass very slowly. Shen Tiantian frequently checked the time, hoping for the evening to come sooner.

Finally, she managed to hold on until six o’clock, and Shen Tiantian quickly grabbed her bag and left, feeling excited.

Normally, Shen Tiantian was the last one to leave, so it was a bit unusual today. Lu Xiaochun looked a bit confused as she watched Shen Tiantian’s figure walking away.

She wanted to walk with her as well.

About ten minutes ago, she had received a message that Kang Jiaya had arrived. Shen Tiantian quickly walked out of the elevator and immediately spotted the two figures standing near the entrance of the building.

Shen Tiantian jogged over and apologized, “Sorry, did you wait long?”

Kang Jiaya caught her as she threw herself into her arms and scolded her, “Don’t you remember that you have a child?”

Liu Wanjun smiled and said, “A big child.”

Shen Tiantian: ………

How could she forget? This little thing reminded her of its existence every moment.

She just didn’t feel that fragile. Despite experiencing some pregnancy discomfort, she felt that her body was still fine, and she knew that Kang Jiaya would catch her.

“Let’s go, get in the car,” Kang Jiaya patted her shoulder.

Although Kang Jiaya had been abroad for a long time, she still had a car and a house here.

Shen Tiantian had only graduated a few years ago and wasn’t as successful as Kang Jiaya and the others. After more than two years, she was still just a team leader and she didn’t have a car yet. She was also still renting a house.

Kang Jiaya had asked her several times to live with at her house and use her car since she was now based overseas and didn’t need them. However, Shen Tiantian felt that it wasn’t right and had been refusing.

Now that Liu Wanjun was pregnant, Kang Jiaya went to pick her up first.

Shen Tiantian skillfully opened the car door and asked, “Where are we going to eat?”

“I haven’t been to Four Seasons Halls for a long time. I have to go back in a few days, so why not Four Seasons Hall?” Kang Jiaya suggested.

Liu Wanjun nodded and said, “Up to you.”

Shen Tiantian knew that the owner of Four Seasons Hall was the CEO, so she hesitated to speak.

“What’s wrong?” Liu Wanjun, who was sitting in the back seat with her, noticed her unusual expression.

Shen Tiantian whispered, “The owner of Four Seasons Hall is the CEO.”

Kang Jiaya was stunned. What a coincidence?!

“I was startled at first too.” Shen Tiantian forced a smile.

Observing her expression in the rearview mirror, Kang Jiaya felt like she was about to cry and asked in confusion, “Why do you have that expression?”

“I want to keep the baby.”

Kang Jiaya suddenly understood, “So you want to break up with the CEO?!”

Shen Tiantian didn’t say anything and just nodded.

“Have you considered telling her and seeing if she can accept it before deciding to break up? Wouldn’t it be a pity to break up like this?” Kang Jiaya suggested.

Hearing Kang Jiaya’s words, Liu Wanjun couldn’t help but ask, “If your Mr. Yu suddenly tells you that he has a child after a one-night stand, would you be able to accept it?”

“He wouldn’t dare!”

“Just answer if you can accept it or not.” Liu Wanjun chuckled.

Kang Jiaya choked for a moment and then said, “It would depend on how much I liked him.”

“So, Tiantian and the CEO have only been together for a short time. She probably hasn’t reached the level of acceptance yet,” Liu Wanjun stated.

Kang Jiaya fell silent.

Shen Tiantian knew they were just being rational and that what Liu Wanjun said was true, but she couldn’t stop her heart from sinking.

Yes, a normal person wouldn’t be able to accept it, let alone Shan Yi who had a prominent and perfect family background.

Shan Yi had achieved success at such a young age and from any perspective, she was a successful person. Meanwhile, Shen Tiantian would soon become an unmarried mother with average abilities and average looks. Shan Yi didn’t need her, so it would be better to keep this matter hidden. At least, she could look back on the past as something beautiful.

Liu Wanjun realized that her words had hurt Shen Tiantian and her face turned awkward. She had originally wanted to refute Kang Jiaya, but ended up making Shen Tiantian feel even worse.

She hesitated before saying, “I’m sorry, Tiantian, I didn’t mean…”

Shen Tiantian smiled and said, “Ah? I’m fine.”

It was far from fine. She was hurting inside.
