CH 17

Upon hearing the sound of a lock, Shan Yi straightened her slightly wrinkled clothes, calmly opened the door, and looked expressionlessly at the person knocking. 

Lu Xiaochun’s raised hand froze in mid-air. She was stunned. She didn’t expect to see Shan Yi here.

She opened her mouth. “CEO?!”

Can anyone tell her why the CEO is here?!

Shan Yi remembered Lu Xiaochun and nodded slightly at her, then turned her head slightly to look at the tightly closed door. “I’ll go up first.”

Lu Xiaochun looked puzzled. She felt like that statement wasn’t directed at her, but she still nodded.

Shen Tiantian was so nervous that she didn’t even dare to breathe.

After resolving her physiological needs, Lu Xiaochun went back without thinking much about it.

The footsteps grew fainter and fainter, and Shen Tiantian couldn’t help but let out a relieved laugh. It really felt like they were having an illicit affair.

She walked out, straightened her clothes, glanced at herself in the mirror to make sure everything looked normal, and then stepped out of the restroom.

She swore never to indulge Shan Yi again; otherwise, her heart wouldn’t be able to take it, especially since people could come in at any time in this kind of place.

When she returned to the office and sat down, Lu Xiaochun immediately leaned over and asked in a low voice, “Where did you go just now?”

Shen Tiantian felt a bit guilty. “I went out for a while.”

Lu Xiaochun actually didn’t really care where she had gone. After hearing this, she nodded and then mysteriously said, “Guess who I saw just now?”

Shen Tiantian pretended not to know and asked her who she had seen.

“I saw the CEO in the restroom just now. Her lips were a bit swollen, as if she had … done something with someone.” Lu Xiaochun said with a flirtatious expression. “Do you think the CEO’s lover is a man or a woman? But I think that regardless of gender, no one can resist her, right?”

Shen Tiantian’s heart tightened. She didn’t dare to say that she was the person Lu Xiaochun was referring to.

And indeed, she had no resistance against the CEO, so she fell in love with her at first sight.

She responded vaguely, “Let’s focus on work. Manager Tian will scold you again if she sees you.”

Lu Xiaochun immediately looked at the manager’s office and reluctantly returned to her own seat.

Shen Tiantian checked her phone. Her dear CEO had sent her a message three minutes ago.

After replying to the messages, she put down her phone, took the cup filled with water, and went to the pantry. She poured out the cold water, refilled it with hot water, and took a sip, exhaling as she drank. 

Her stomach felt warm, and her mind became slightly clearer.

After Shan Yi left, Shen Tiantian felt a bit dizzy throughout the entire morning. For lunch, she merely visited the cafeteria to grab a salad. Instead of buying medicine, she opted to return to her office and took a nap.

Finally, she managed to make it through the evening. She just wanted to go home and have a good sleep.

Shan Xu received a message from Shan Yi, saying that Shen Tiantian was not feeling well and asked him to pick her up in advance. As expected, he saw Shen Tiantian walking out of the building listlessly.

“Sister-in-law,” he called out.

Shen Tiantian was a little surprised. “Why are you here?”

“My sister said you weren’t feeling well, so she asked me to pick you up,” Shan Xu explained.

Shen Tiantian understood. She really wasn’t feeling, so she didn’t refuse. “Then I’ll have to trouble you to send me home.”

Shan Xu furrowed his brows, unable to help himself as he supported her by the shoulder. “Let’s go to the hospital first!”

Shen Tiantian fell asleep shortly after getting into the car.

Shan Xu calmly replied, “You don’t seem to be doing well. Let’s go to the hospital first.”

Shen Tiantian felt helpless. “I just want to sleep.”

With a determined tone, Shan Xu had no choice but to say, “At least buy some medicine. My sister isn’t in the country right now. If anything happens to you under my watch, she’ll kill me. “

Shen Tiantian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Okay, I’ll buy some medicine.”

Shan Xu didn’t say anything else.

Not long after, the car stopped in front of a pharmacy. Shan Xu got out of the car and when he came back, he had a white bag in his hand.

Shen Tiantian was woken up by Shan Xu. By this time, the car had already stopped in front of the Yuanjing residential area.

Shan Xu also got out of the car and handed her the medicine and hot porridge he had just bought. “Eat something hot before taking your medicine.”

She thanked him, took the items, and smiled at him. “Then, I’ll go upstairs first.”

Shan Xu was still worried. “I’ll accompany you up.”

Shen Tiantian couldn’t persuade him and could only agree.

Shan Xu only left after seeing her enter the house. He figured that Shan Yi should still be on the plane and wouldn’t arrive until dawn, so he didn’t send her a message.

Shen Tiantian casually placed the items on the table.

Perhaps due to the fever, Shen Tiantian didn’t have much of an appetite. She mustered the last bit of strength to take a shower.

It had been a long time since she had been sick, but when she did fall ill, it would be particularly severe.

Warmth filled Shen Tiantian’s heart.

After sitting on a plane overnight, Shan Yi must be tired, yet she still remembered to send her a message.

Shen Tiantian: [Much better. My fever has subsided.]

—That’s good, I just arrived at the hotel.

Shen Tiantian couldn’t help but smile helplessly and replied, “Good night.”

After putting down her phone, she went to the pantry and brewed a cup of coffee for herself. She took a sip, but the strong aroma wafting into her nose made her lose the desire to drink it.

She let out a sigh, set the coffee aside, and opened her work program to start her day.

During the days when Shan Yi was not in the company, Shen Tiantian seemed to think of her less frequently. Time seemed to pass by quickly, and before she knew it, it was already time to leave work.

Shan Xu was already waiting at the entrance of the building. Shen Tiantian was touched, but she felt bad for bothering him every day. “My house is very close, you don’t have to pick me up every day.”

“I can’t refuse my sister’s orders.” Shan Xu smiled.

Shen Tiantian knew that it was useless to say anything, so she got into the car helplessly.

In the past two days, although they didn’t talk much, their relationship had subtly improved, and their conversations became more frequent.

The ten-minute drive quickly came to an end, and Shen Tiantian bid farewell to Shan Xu.

As if anticipating her arrival time at home, just as she set down her bag, Shan Yi sent her a WeChat video call.

Shen Tiantian nervously and eagerly answered the call, and soon Shan Yi’s face appeared on the screen. Her face, untouched by any chemical substances, remained fair. Shen Tiantian’s face grew warm, and she forced herself to avert her gaze from Shan Yi’s chest.

She felt that Shan Yi was doing it on purpose. She was always teasing her.

“Shan Xu sent me a message.” Shan Yi’s voice came through the phone, slightly husky as if she had just woken up.

Shen Tiantian suddenly realized and nodded. It was something she should have expected, otherwise how could Shan Yi be so punctual?

“Did you miss me today?” Shan Yi asked again.

Shen Tiantian chuckled and nodded honestly. “Yes, I did.”

Shan Yi’s slightly deep voice sounded. “I miss you too.”

A layer of sweetness spread through Shen Tiantian’s heart, and she smiled, asking,  “Are you getting ready to go out?”

“Yes, but I wanted to see you first,” Shan Yi replied.

“What’s there to see about me?”

“I don’t know, but just seeing you makes my day go smoothly.”

‘Was she that magical?’

Shen Tiantian laughed. “Should I thank you then?”

Shan Yi laughed as well. “No need. I was just telling the truth.”

Shen Tiantian was amused by her words and laughed out loud.

It was the first time Shan Yi had seen Shen Tiantian laugh like that. Her lips curled up slightly, and she said “Do you know what I think when I see you laugh like this?”

Shen Tiantian slowly stopped laughing and asked, “What do you think?”

Shan Yi’s face turned serious, “I really want to kiss you.”

“Well, then come over.” Shen Tiantian provocatively said, knowing that Shan Yi wasn’t in the country.

Shan Yi smiled dangerously. “You said it.”

“Yes, I said it.” Shen Tiantian nodded with a smile.
