“When I was just starting high school, I was often depressed, wasn’t I?”

I nodded in agreement with Amane-nee-san’s question.

It was natural for her to be down in the dumps at the time, as her parents had died in a fire.

My mother was also involved in the fire.

“Haruto-kun, you must have been going through a tough time too, but you always comforted me.”

“Though I don’t remember doing anything of that magnitude.”

Feeling a little embarrassed, I lowered my voice to a whisper, and Amane-nee-san smiled and shook her head.

“It was important to me. Haruto-kun always helped me. So now it’s my turn to help you.”

“I really appreciate you helping me with Kaho.”

Thanks to Amane-nee-san, the misunderstanding that Kaho and I are brother and sister was resolved.

Amane-nee-san nodded lightly.

“Next, it will be Mikoto-san’s turn. She can’t stay in this mansion forever.”

The problem now was that Soichiro Tomi’s life was in danger, and because of that, even Rei-san might be harmed.

Until that is resolved, we cannot leave this highly secured mansion.

Seeing me nodding my head, Amane-nee-san smiled and looked down at her book again. I need to rest, too.

It seemed like a long time had passed.

When I woke up, it was already dark outside the window and Amane-nee-san was dozing off next to me.

She was supposed to be watching me, but before I knew it, she had fallen asleep herself.

Smiling, I covered her with a blanket and quietly left the room.

I was thirsty.

There is a dining room in the house where we live.

When I entered the dining room, I found Rei-san and Kaho at the dining table.

Both of them were staring at something on the table with serious faces.

When they noticed me, they looked up in a hurry.

“Haruto… are you feeling better already?”

Kaho looked concerned and I smiled, “I’m fine.”

“I’m really sorry …”

Rei whispered.

Rei-san and Kaho attached themselves to me n*ked in the bathroom, and that was the cause of my collapse.

“You don’t have to apologize so much.”

“But…”

Rei-san’s eyes were downcast.

On the other hand, as soon as she saw that I was feeling better, Kaho turned to her usual teasing expression.

“Haruto must have been happy to have had n*ked time with two pretty girls, right?”

“Kaho…”

“You were happy, weren’t you?”

Kaho smiled, though her face was red.

I feel like I’ve been tricked.

“I’ll do it again!”

“I’ll pass…”

I whispered, and Kaho giggled.

Suddenly, Rei-san tugged at my sleeve.

“Haruto-kun…”

“What?”

“Don’t you have anything to say to me?”

She stared at me with her blue eyes, and I was flustered.

“Well… I’m glad I got to take a bath with Rei-san.”

Rei’-sans face lit up in a flash.

“I’ll do it again too!”

In other words, both Rei and Kaho had every intention of sneaking into the large bathroom when I was taking a bath.

It seemed that Rei-san and Kaho were playing a game of chess.

When I said this, Re-san and Kaho blushed a little and turned their heads away from each other.

“It’s not that I’m playing with Sasaki-san.”

“Then why play chess?”

“We’re making a bet.”

Kaho said.

Maybe they are betting money?

I have a feeling that’s a bad idea.

But Kaho shook her head.

“Whoever wins between me and Mikoto-san gets the right to go on a one-day date with Haruto.”

I thought she was joking, but both Rei-san and Kaho had serious expressions on their faces.

“Which one of us do you root for, Haruto?”

“Oh, me?”

“Yeah. Which one do you want to go on a date with, Haruto?”

“If you ask that, doesn’t it defeat the purpose of playing chess for the right to a date?”

At my question, they looked at each other and nodded their heads and said, “Indeed.”

Rei-san and Kaho have completely different personalities, but they seem to get along surprisingly well, I thought, and smiled.

“Why are you smiling?”

To Rei-san’s question, I answered, “No reason.”, and brought a chair and sat down.

Of course, it was to watch the two of them play chess.
