Bang!

The sound of the rooftop door giving way was like the sound of a starting pistol.

He lowered his body and pushed back with one of his feet, leaving a print on the concrete floor, before he sprinted toward the ledge of the building like a fired arrow.

As soon as he took out, zombies began to swarm to the rooftop. From high above, it seemed as though some sort of liquid was pouring out onto the rooftop from the door. They chased after Rhodes, relentless in their pursuit.

However, Rhodes had already arrived at the edge of the rooftop. The wall was not high so he did not lose the momentum he had built up as he accelerated and leaped off the building.

As soon as his feet left solid ground, he knew in his heart he was going to land safely on the other side. He drew a beautiful arc in the air as he leaped out. With his safety confirmed, he even turned around gracefully to face the zombies before flashing them his middle finger. All of this happened in just a split second.

In just a moment...

Bang!

The sound of a heavy object smashing glass rang in the air.

Rhodes landed safely. However, in order to prevent Julie from getting hurt, he shielded her when they landed.

He hissed in pain as he pulled out the shards of glass embedded in his flesh. Fortunately, he had the special ability, Body Regeneration. After pulling out the glass shards, he saw his skin knitting together, healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Then, Rhodes put Julie down after he surveyed his dark surroundings. He had no idea why she had fainted. However, he found nothing unusual after he did a quick check. Feeling helpless, he could only tie Julie to his back again. Then, he began his journey to return to the safe house.

Meanwhile, on campus.

All the factions on campus had received a message at the same time: "New York City, this is Washington! We've developed a vaccine. Due to the large scale of infection and the speed of the mutation, we haven't found a cure for the infection. The vaccine is useful to survivors and will prevent infection and mutation. Before the army arrives, protect yourself and prevent yourself from getting infected!"

...

West gate.

Ever since Ira left, it seemed as though hell had descended on the place. The high and mighty beauties on campus had all become playthings.

The males no longer suppressed their desire and treated the females as pets. Some of the males who held onto their morals and had objected to this were killed after Ira left.

Currently, the smell of blood and rot permeated the place. Severed limbs could be seen strewn on the ground outside. Meanwhile, the beauties lay on the ground like dogs, wagging their tails and begging for mercy. They could only do everything in their power to please those above them. Moreover, food was becoming scarcer recently.

Although Washington had sent a message, the boys who had their fantasies fulfilled did not want society to return to the way it was.

East gate.

Compared to the tragic environment at the west gate's faction, this place was much better.

Almost everyone here wielded a gun and was physically strong.

Apart from that, it was worth mentioning that the people here worked well together like a well-oiled machine. They were divided into small groups, and each group had its own responsibility. Whatever they found would be distributed between the small groups.

Moreover, since almost everyone possessed guns, the groups seemed to have a tacit agreement and would not recklessly provoke each other. For this reason, it was relatively peaceful. However, if the balance was broken one day, this place would instantly turn into a living hell.

It seemed like the thing that would break the balance had finally arrived today.

...

North gate.

The most mysterious faction on campus. Nobody knew how these people banded together, who they were, or how they awakened their abilities.

People would be surprised if they knew the members were all vagrants and had awakened abilities.

After the apocalypse dawned on the world, they had awakened abilities, giving them strength they did not possess in the past. With their abilities, they thrived in the new world. What they wanted the most, now that they had gained abilities, was to take revenge on the society that had once abandoned them. They had killed so many people that they had begun to feel bored. However, the message that they had just received had provided them with a new target: the army that was supposed to 'save' them!

...

Meanwhile, Rhodes had already arrived at the safe house and was waiting for Ira and the other two women's return.

He was determined to grow stronger so he wanted to conduct an experiment. He was going to let Ira and Beth bite him to see if their bites would increase his strength as well.

Soon after, Ira and the other women returned.

Rhodes bluntly told them about what he planned to do and the two women did not object to it.

The two women obediently followed him and Julie into the room

....

"Ding! Congratulations, you've been bitten by a zombie. Strength +1."

"Ding! Congratulations, you've been bitten by a zombie. Speed +1."

"Ding! Congratulations, you've been bitten by a zombie. Spirit +1."

"Ding! Congratulations, you've been bitten by a zombie. Vitality+ 1."

...

Rhodes lowered his head to look at Julie. His eyes were slightly red as he looked at her tenderly. A faint smile could be seen on his face as well. "Julie, don't worry. I'll make sure you return to normal as soon as possible."

He continued to say, "Oh, right. I found two helpers. I'll probably have more of them in the future. You won't be jealous, right?"

When he saw that Julie seemed to be shaking her head slightly in disapproval, he hastily added, "Julie, don't worry. You'll always be number one in my heart!"

As though she could understand his words, a smile appeared on her beautiful face when he finished speaking. Her red eyes were brimming with love as she looked at him.

Meanwhile, Rhodes suddenly heard a system notification. He was rather pleased by the notification he just received. He quickly called up the system interface. With just a glance, he saw the changes in the system interface.

"System, what's the use of Elementary Metal Molecules Manipulation?"

"Please find out for yourself."

Rhodes had expected this response from the system. 'Fine. I'll just find it out for myself!'

Currently, he had 12 Ability Points. He could choose to level up one of his four special abilities.

'Insight, Poison Control, Body Regeneration, and Elementary Metal Molecular Manipulation... Which one should I choose?' Rhodes thought to himself. After a while, he decided to save the 12 points for the time being. For now, there was no rush for him to upgrade Insight and Poison Control. Since he still did not know what his new ability could do, he decided to test it out when he had free time. At that time, it would not be too late for him to decide which of his special abilities to level up.

At this moment, Rhodes suddenly stiffened. He quickly signaled Julie not to move.
