Chapter 29 - Faith Function

[Ding!]

A system notification appeared of his mission completion, but John only took a glance at it. What's he's more concerned is about his body.

"What is happening to me!?"

John is becoming panic, he doesn't know what is happening to his body, why did he suddenly felt so weak.

Then a notification from the system answered the question as to why he felt weak.

[Ding!]

[The host is feeling the backlash from losing a large amount of mana permanently in such a short amount of time.]

"Huh?"

John read the notification and calmed down a bit. He opened up his Status Menu to look at the decrease of mana that the system is talking about.

A frown appears on John's forehead as his eyebrows lock tightly.

"There is a large amount of mana missing," he said, "Just where did it go... hmm... is it because of that!?"

John remembers the feeling he felt earlier when he was multiplying Mark's Attack Stats earlier.

"Sigh... I did not expect that to have a backlash." he sighs tiredly as he sat up from his bed.

He was starting to gain some energy but still felt weak. He felt like he got hit by a car just from the tiredness that he is feeling.

After resting for a bit, he can stand up again, he walks slowly to get to the kitchen.

With his slow speed, it took him 2 minutes just to get to the kitchen which he can usually get there with just a few couples of seconds.

Sophia saw John walking towards the table and said, "What did you do, son? Why do you look so tired?"

She looks at the dark circles on John's and also saw that his face looks so pale. She looks surprised and a second later, a worried look appeared on his face.

She approaches John with hasty footsteps and places her hands on his forehead when she arrived beside him.

"Hmm... you feel a little hot, this might be a fever. You should go and just rest tor today. Don't tire yourself. I will cook some porridge, so just wait there for a bit." she said.

John nodded his head, he really felt tired and it seems like because of that, he caught a fever.

John just sat there with a somewhat listless look as he waits for the food.

"Here, eat it slowly, okay?" she said as she places it down the table.

"Hmm..." John nodded his head in reply, and scoop some hot porridge with his spoon and ate it.

He felt comfortable as he eats the warm porridge, and he continued scooping and eating it.

Sophia look at him and asked, "Is it good?"

"Yes, Mom. Anything you are delicious anyway." Answered John then he filled his mouth with another spoonful of porridge.

"Well, that's good then," said Sophia while smiling, looking at her son that looks to be enjoying the food.

In a few more scoops, John finished the porridge on his bowl.

"Do you want more?" Sophia questions as she saw the empty bowl.

"No, I'm full now, Mom," replied John while rubbing his belly.

"Is that so? Then go back to your room and rest now," said Sophia, you can see the concern in her face and the tone of her voice.

She picked up the bowl and brought it to the sink and started washing.

John said, "Okay", and left the kitchen and went back to his room.

He lies down on his bed and tightly covered himself with a blanket. In just a few minutes, he fell asleep.

The next morning. The sun is now slowly climbing up to the sky, with it, is the soft warm morning sunshine that makes everyone feel comfortable.

John slowly opened his eyes and saw the morning sunlight entering his room through the window.

*Yawn*

He blinks his eyes before giving a big yawn. Then he got up from the bed and stretch his body.

"Another good sunny day!" exclaimed John as he looks outside the window.

John took his eyes away from the sight of people having their morning and turn to look at the system menu.

There, he saw another addition beside the [God's Eye].

[Faith], that's a new function that was added. It was a reward for completing the mission last night.

"I wonder what's this new function is for..." he mumbled to himself as he pressed the [Faith] on the system screen.

The screen changes the moment he pressed it. It became just a blank screen that has nothing on it except the name 'Mark' and the number '86' just right beside it.

John looks at it and he wonders what this is for.

As he was thinking about some things, a transparent screen appears that seems to be the instruction for the [Faith] function.

[Faith function: This is a function for the host of the Wishing God System, that is on the path of becoming a God who grants wishes to the masses to see the believers that have faith in him.

The number beside the name of the believers is the amount of faith that the believer has for the host.

John read it...

After he finishes reading, he can't help but stand up from his feet because of the excitement.

He was not able to contain it and he started laughing happily,

"Haha, Finally... finally, I have a stable source of Tokens!" he said as he continued laughing.

The people outside heard John laughing from inside his room and they turn to at his window weirdly.
