What's more, he also said and proudly at that, that he is only scamming those lowly scums, his meaning is he only scam those that live in the slum area

The way people look at him change from just plain negativity to direct disgust at his personality.

All the people here know that those live in the slums are either a thug and thief from a gang or those poor people who had an unfortunate fate like an abandoned child, captured people/ slaves that escaped from their owner, or people who became bankrupt for whatever reasons.

From these group of people, we can't deny that bad eggs are in there. But there's also people there who do good. They are actually the one who work properly like cleaning the sewer and the like.

Although quite a lot of people here are not really that fond of those that live in the slum. They don't really hate them because they did not really do them any wrong.

You know, they are not fond of those that live in the slums because in their mind whoever lives there is a criminal, meaning the one they hate is a criminal. But they don't have proof that whoever they see that came from the slums are bad people so they just choose to stay away from them.

Then this man, Richard, as they all can see is a criminal who even admitted his crimes proudly.(Though he don't know that)

So when they hear about what he did, they are more disgusted to him than the people that live in the slum.

Someone from the crowd suddenly shouted, "Scum!"

And it caused a chain reaction where all the people there started throwing insults to Richard.

"Sh*t!"

"Monster!"

"Worthless Scum!"

"You Should Burn to the deepest part of hell!"

"Criminal like you should just go and die!"

Richard, who is still happily talking about his "adventure" to John is stunned at what is happening.

'Eh? Why are they shouting at me? Nononono, they are probably shouting at those hooligans who crashed into my store.' many thoughts ran through his mind as he watched and listened to what the people are saying.

And he understood that it is really him who they are cursing at because of two insults that he heard which is,

"Pesky scammer! You should rot in jail!"

"You even scammed those who have no money! What a demon!"

Is what some people are saying.

Richard fell into a daze at what's happening. He only awakened from his daze when he heard the childish voice in front of him.

"Did you like it?" John asked with a playful and mischievous smile on his face.

John acted like he did not know what he is talking about, he raised his shoulders as if saying, 'don't know'.

"I did nothing! Promise!" John raised his right hand saying that he promised, then he continued, "Though, I just received my blessing just a few days ago, so I still can't fully control it. I felt it activated earlier, hmm… I wonder why?"

John put his finger on his chin as he continuously tapped it while looking upwards.

Richard's face darken when he heard what John said, blessings are very mysterious things, all that humans know about it is that they will receive it when they turn five years old. And there are different blessings for each people.

Although he is not sure what blessing do John have, he know that it is surely the reason why the people look at him like that. And from the way John acted, it looks like he did not make a mistake like what he is saying.

Anger and humiliation ate his heart and his very being. He should have known that telling the truth and bragging about it will bring nothing good.

But he was still played by the kid. Some of you might be curious as to why he told John about it 'easily', right?

Blessing is what it might be called, but to some it is nothing but a curse that will eat into their life. Or will cause destruction to them.

Blessings differ from people to people. Some get blessing that will bring them to the top of the world and some get a curse for their entire life.

There is also those that get half a blessing and half a curse. And an example of that is the man in front of John, Richard.

He receive a great blessing that helps boost his management ability of a store, but there is a side effect to it.

He have a great attraction to gold and resisting to it is like a pervert in front of a naked woman and not touching or even looking at her. It is a great nonsense.

Richard's face contorted to the ugliest it could be.

"YOU KID! WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME! I DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO YOU!" he paused for a second, then screamed,"YOU SHOULD SUFFER!!"

Richard ran towards John with the best of his speed. His hands clenched tightly that his fingers pierce through his skin and a hint of blood was peeking on it. While his other hand is holding unto a knife that he picked up from his products.

John already expected this to happen and even thought of a way how he would fight back, but he was still a little flustered and he flinched when it really happened for real.

Sophia, who is watching at the side, froze when she saw Richard screaming and rushing to John.

She gasped and covered her mouth, before shouting, "JOHN!"

Because they are just a short distance between John and Richard. Richard arrived within a second in front of John. And that flinching of John earlier is a grave mistake that should not be made in front of an enemy, no matter if they are an amateur or a veteran in fighting.

Silence. There is deafening silence as the people watching saw what happened.
