Chapter 55 - 55

Name:You Are Mine Author:Leann Lane
"Mia!" called Lizzie happily when I got into the room.

Her voice still sounded rough and after she said hi she started coughing. I looked around her room in awe, it was immaculate, an unusual event for Lizzie especially when she was sick. The only mess I could see was near the garbage can and that was from used tissues. I raised my eyebrows at her and nodded my head to the housekeeper that was currently in the attached bathroom cleaning up.

"Yes, apparently she's not here just to keep me in bed. She says she wanted to clean my house for something to do. But I think she's bucking for a bonus from Jordan," Lizzie said sending a glare Mrs. Lichten's way.

Mrs. Lichten returned it without hesitation causing Lizzie to stick her tongue out at her. To her credit, Mrs. Lichten stuck hers out right back and began cussing her out, I'm assuming, in German.

"Hey, ladies," I said standing up and holding my hands in between them, "None of that. Lizzie, you need to rest so stop letting her get you all worked up. Let's face it, hon, your house needed a good scrubbing."

Lizzie began to try to protest which I silenced with a look that apparently was a good imitation of the ones that Reed and Jordan gave because it worked.

"And Mrs. Lichten, thank you for your help if you'd like to go take a break or talk to Jordan, then I'll take over caring for Lizzie,"

Mrs. Lichten gave me a glare yet did as I asked still muttering under her breath the whole way out to the door. The minute the lady was gone, Lizzie laid back on the bed and seemed to sigh with relief, then proceeded to cough once again and blow her nose.

"Ooh, Mia. I don't feel well at all and having to fight with her all day has just been exhausting," she whined at me.

Lizzie had never been a very good patient and I'm surprised Mrs. Lichten hadn't shackled her to the bed with duct tape across her mouth.

"Well, if you didn't fight with her, you wouldn't be this exhausted," I explained checking her forehead and holding her hand.

Lizzie gave a mischievous smile. "Honestly, I think she was quite enjoying it. I know she was muttering and cussing me out. But I could see the twinkle in her little German eye and it helped me get out some of my frustrations over being sick."

I laughed realizing that they both might have been doing it on purpose just to get a rise out of each other. I shook my head at her despite the smile that was on my face.

"Did you get any rest today at all?"

She nodded picking up the cup of water that was left by the bed and finished the rest of it before continuing.

"Oh yes, Mrs. Lichten yelled at me if I wasn't sleeping when she checked on me. I was not even allowed to pick up my phone when it rang. The only reason I got your phone call was because I'd put it on vibrate so she couldn't hear it."

"Oh, you're right, Lizzie. She really is a slave driver. How dare she make you sleep, eat, and not be bothered by people demanding your attention. Tisk, tisk." I said in my most sympathetic, all be it mostly sarcastic, voice.

Lizzie shut up and just glared at me pouting.

I laughed and began telling her all the gossip and paperwork that she had missed out on today. All of which had her laughing and agree it was a good thing she stayed in bed. We were just giggling at Chrissy's latest screw-up when I heard a weird beeping noise echo in the room. I realized it was my new phone when I felt it tickle my hip again and saw there was a text from Reed.

-You have visited long enough, it's time for you to get home and let Lizzie rest before you get sick as well-

I sighed and rolled my eyes.

-Sir, I don't get sick that often and I haven't seen Lizzie all day. We have barely gotten to talk- I quickly wrote back.

-Don't make me send Master Jordan in there. He tends to like to stick things in areas where we've already discussed that I want first- He warned.

It really amazed me how easily he could sound all bossy and Dom-like over the phone. I felt a mix of horror at the thought of Jordan administering the punishment and found myself surprised at how easily the idea of Reed doing it turned me on.

I swallowed both down and informed Lizzie that Reed had said it was time to leave. We both gave each other a look and rolled our eyes. Still, we knew better than to argue so I just gave her a hug and promised to call tomorrow to check on her. I also promised to get Jordan's permission first so Mrs. Evil wouldn't be able to tell her no.

Out in the living room, I found Jordan on the phone having what looked like a rather intense discussion with whoever was on the other end. So, I began to collect my things to quietly make my exit so I wouldn't bother him. I waving to Mrs. Lichten who was in the kitchen making up some sort of dinner, she just gave me a glare and muttered to herself some more.

"Let me call you back, Jack. I have a very bad sub trying to sneak away before I could talk to her."

I spun around to face Jordan as my face flush in embarrassment as if I had been trying to sneak away unnoticed.

"Mia, were you going to leave without saying goodbye?" he asked in faux indignation.

"No, of course not," I replied defensively.

He just raised his eyebrow in an eerie reminiscence of how Reed would do it. I had no doubt in my mind that Reed was the one who had trained Jordan.

"I mean yes, but not intentionally. I just didn't want to disturb you," I said with a defeated sigh.

He relaxed and nodded as if pleased by my answer.

"I called the company limo. It will take you to your vehicle. Remember to call Master Reed when you get home as he requested. I'll see you tomorrow at work," he informed me.

"Can the limo take me to my house instead?" I asked, thankful I wouldn't have to take a cab home.

"Of course, it can take you anywhere you want it to. Where is your vehicle? I'll arrange for it to be returned home," Jordan informed me while looking around for something to write with.

I laughed. "It's in the junkyard."

Jordan lifted his head up slowly and pinned me with a gaze. "What?"
