Sometimes trying to act unsuspicious just so happens to be the most suspicious thing you could do. If a cop shows up and you completely ignore them and continue with your day, there's a fairly decent chance that they'll randomly stop you. Acting casual just doesn't work.

Staring, pointing, and taking pictures could be considered a normal reaction especially for children. If you don't want trouble just try to blend into the crowd and act accordingly.

Being super calm in every situation will make people think you either lack sympathy or are a complete sociopath... so just don't act too calm.
