Chapter 98 - pizza

i woke up hearing someone's voice. the harsh light hurt my eyes as i tried to get adjusted to the brightness.

"I am so glad you are ok" max said as he handed he a glass of water.

my head was going crazy. i wasn't sure if it was because of the horrible headache or the fact that I had been stupid enough to let prof stine escape.

"thanks" i replied as I handed the now empty glass back to max.

i didn't notice loki for almost a minute as he had blended in the shadows of the room thanks to his black fur but the glimmering green eyes gave it away.

as our eyes met he rushed over and jumped over me and licked my face. i stroked his head and pulled him close.

the cute movement was interrupted when I smelled burnt plastic in the air.

i ran towards the smell. but not before dropping loki on the bed and telling him not to move.

as I rushed out of the room and towards the kitchen, it was only now i had finally gotten out of my mind long enough to recognize my surroundings.

i was at max's home.

when i reached the kitchen doorframe i saw that the room was filled with smoke and max was opening the windows.

i sighed internally and externally

then helped max air out the room.

"what were you doing?" i asked max as we sat in the aired-out kitchen which still smelled like burnt plastic.

"i was trying to cook something" he answered shyly

"using the microwave?"

"it seemed the safest"

"i guess you were wrong," i said as i gestured the room.

"i guess so," he said as he chuckled awkwardly.

"how about we order pizza?" i asked as i took my phone from my pocket

"that sounds like a good idea" he mused when the pizza finally arrived we arranged a makeshift on the bed.

we ate pizza and talked and loki ate his food and barked occasionally joining our conversation.

was there a possibility that prof stine and luna plan to kill me tomorrow?

should i be planning a strategy to defeat them right now?

yes

but right now i just wanted to eat pizza and talk about an extremely cringy show we watched.
