Chapter 85 - thunderstorms begins

for the first time, I woke up before the alarm could even ring. although it is not surprising considering the fact that I have to make sure Chris doesn't die and also capture the killer. i am positive we will be able the achieve the first one, as for the other i am not so sure.

i asked jack if he could find someone to take care of loki today and thankfully Bethany and her girlfriend agreed.

i helped max carry all the equipment to the school. on the way when we met jack he helped too.

when we reached the school it didn't look like it had yesterday. there were balloons almost everywhere. different clubs were preparing their final preparation for the school festival. most looked rushed which was not surprising as the festival was preponed.

when i reached our clubroom it looked fantastic, it looked like a murder scene which was a good thing in our case. the splash of red paint looked shockingly like blood which made this look more genuine than I would like to accept. I quickly noted at the back of my mind that I have to thank luna for that when I finally meet her.

it was almost nine when people began to enter the school for the festival.

"everyone gather around the stage" was told from the speakers all around the place that were set up today.

every representative from almost all the clubs were on the stage and the members of the club in the audience. i walked above the stage and stood beside the Olivia.

"your club presentation is going to suck," Olivia whispered.

"I am sorry you feel like that because mia is the star in the presentation", I whispered back. that made her shut up.

zoe got to the podium and began talking,

"Welcome to the 20th school festival. where we display the various clubs and the talents of its members. now the club representative will speak one by one."

anna was the first one who was going to talk. she looked really nervous so I signaled her to took at jack. jack showed her a thumbs up and anna seemed to look more confident than she did a moment ago.

"I am the representative of the newspaper club. our club will show you the steps to make an article and show you various school articles made by the students before and now. we might even tell you our favorite rumors surrounding the club. if anyone in the audience had visited the last festival, you might realize that we have downgraded. that is because we play a more important role this year. a member of our club will play music, say jokes and where the best events take place which will be heard by everyone through the speakers. i hope everyone enjoys today. thank you."

she stood next to me while others were speaking. she was vibrating where she stood. she is still nervous I thought to myself. "you did good" i whispered to her.

"thanks" she replied shyly.

it was finally my turn so I walked to the podium.

"before i explain about the event let me introduce the people who made this possible"

"max, the genius who came up with the idea, and most of the props for the scene." everyone cheered. max isn't exactly the most well-known person but everyone who even has talked to him loves him. what can i say he is a cinnamon roll.

"cleo, the makeup artist and costume designer" almost everyone cheered for her which was expected.

"mia, from the newspaper club who helped with the set up" more cheers.

"the drama club members" and even more cheers

"jack, from the high school year one who will oversee everything." dead silence.

"he is the best friend of James the highschool student council president." the cheers were even louder than what cleo received. but don't let this fool you jack is extremely popular just not well known to the middlescholers.

"our club event is a collaboration with the drama club. i and my club members love murder mysteries. hence max gave us of the idea for the event. our clubroom will be the murder scene where the drama members will role-play as the suspects and you get to play as detectives and solve the case. mia will help you through your cases. you might not see me, max and Cleo as we will be working in the background with the lights, props, makeup, etc."

i heard what every club representative said as that might help me undercover the place where the killer might try to kill Chris.

"thank you, everyone," Zoe said as looked at everyone on the stage.

"now let the festivities begin!" she exclaimed and everyone in the audience cheered.

all the events began. we gathered near the clubroom. max took out the earpieces and gave everyone each.

"sam and Chris, you two will be together at all times."

"anna, you will be with your club, if you find anything inform us."

"jack, you and cleo will stay here to make sure everything goes in order."

"cleo, you will monitor the event through the spycams we hid today."

"max and i will patrol the opposite sides."

"we will all be connected by the earpieces."

"let the real festivities begin!"
