Chapter 53 - lies

when we left I said to max that something felt really odd.

"what felt odd?" mia asked

"you are still here" max said looking unpleased at her. " and why are you even here?"

I turned to face her and said "I think it is because of guilt"

"you were the one who ask Sam to bring the water bottle which led to his current situation"

"ain't I right"

mia looking fl.u.s.tered said,"I.. I don't know what you are talking about I just came to see him as part of the hiking club."

"and you have no right to accuse me when you couldn't even save him from his fall."

after saying that she turned and walked away.

"well that was rude"max said looking pissed but he quickly changed his facial expression, this time looking concerned asked me

"do you think she is helping the killer?"

I said,"no, just the fact that she was guilty means that she was not helping the killer. she might have unknowingly helped the killer."

"if we have anyone to blame for this incident then it is only the killer."

"but I know that she was lying about her reason for getting detention. now I have to just find out why."

max going back to what I was previously talking about before mia disturbed us asked me what was it that I felt odd. I asked him to say the first sentence that Sam told to me when we just now talked to him.

"he said something like I missed hearing your voice, it is just as lovely as the last time I talked to you." max said

"I don't understand. was something odd about it" max asked confused.

"he said as lovely as the last time I talked to you but the first and only time I have ever talked to him was during the trip."

"so that means he is lying about having amnesia."
