Chapter 19 - Aftermath

it's been two days since the incident in the lake. I wish I could say that it was just the reflection of the fireworks but no it was certainly blood. things happened really quick and fast that day... when I saw the blood, I jumped into the water and soon I found Emma so I pulled her out of the lake. And by that time the police and the ambulance had arrived thanks to max...the doctors Said that Emma had died 15-20 minutes ago (worst part we were here near the lake when it happened but we didn't notice anything)...the police interrogated us and we certainly didn't say anything except how we tried saving Emma.....a few minutes later they took us to the hospital to check if we have any mental problems since we just saw a dead person. we were supposed to be in the hospital for more checking but max escaped leaving me behind but I couldn't leave as I was a witness and a suspect for the police. two days later or today the doctors Said to the police and me that Emma died due to drowning and that she must have not know how to swim. I was free to go and as I was leaving the hospital jack, Cleo, Anna and miss jas came towards me worried. "miss jas! where were you?"I said shocked but she calmly said, "I was lost due to the crowd and ended up falling in a pit and was unable to come out till the end of the fireworks". Cleo pulled me away and hugged me and said,"I am so glad you are okay" ( I was really surprised because she has never lost her cool like that ) jack and Anna also wanted to say a lot of things but I pushed them away and said that I had to hurry back home. I ran to the apartment climbed the stairs and was now standing in front of Max's door. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door....no response, I knocked again and also yelled," max, it's Alex if you a in there please respond!... still no response. I got really scared so I opened my door ran to my room and looked out of the window and slowly climbed out. I began walking on the projection on the wall towards Max's window ( I was not scared because I was only in the first floor ). I went into Max's window which was in his room. I had a safe landing thanks to Max's and as I was about to start searching for max I saw a red liquid on the floor...
